Check out my first impressions of the Revlon Ultra Volume Waterproof mascara. I only bought this mascara in Boots the other day. This was my first time to use the mascara, so I documented it in video form πŸ™‚
As the formula is waterproof I also left it on all day and reported back to see how well it wore. Just click on the video for all the deets. Let me know if you like these sorts of videos and please please subscribe to my Youtube channel here, if you like it!

Thanks as always for stopping by.

Here’s my first ever Youtube video! It’s a speeded through Get Ready With Me. I love zoning out and watching these, and on the plus side it meant less talking for me πŸ™‚ It’s not perfect, but sure neither am I.

Thanks so much for watching and if you like it please be sure to subscribe here. That would make my day…my year in fact, can you tell this is a big step for me? πŸ™‚

There’s a list of all the products I used in the info box of the video too, so if you see something you like they’re all listed in order pretty much.

Let me know what you think and also what videos you like to watch yourself, I am going try create one a week on my channel, but I will also do an accompanying blogpost with any extra details and of course a bit of waffle πŸ™‚

This is a really random post, but I just wanted to spread the word in case you haven’t seen them yet. Glamour are giving away Clinique goodies with their December issue. You can get a mascara, a moisturiser or one of two lip colour choices.

I wouldn’t be one to usually buy into this stuff, but I have been eyeing up the Clinique Pop Lip Colours on the Brown Thomas website and was actually going to pick a couple of them up. You lovely ladies of Snapchat let me know they were giving mini samples away with Glamour though and I raced out and bought two copies as there is two shades up for grabs πŸ™‚

I am so happy I did. The lipsticks themselves are a really good size, they won’t be running out after a couple of uses. The packaging itself is the same as the normal Pop lips just in a smaller size too which I really appreciate…it’s the little things πŸ™‚

The two shades you can pick up with the magazine are ‘Nude Pop’.

Clinique Nude PopThis is a really lovely pink nude, with a little shimmer running through it.

Clinique Cherry PopThis is my favourite one out of the two. It is a pinky cherry red colour.

irish beauty bloggerclinique cherry pop swatch The formula of these Pop Lip Colours is really gorgeous too. They’re like a colour intense lip balm and are so comfortable on the lips. When the shine dies down, you are left with a nice stain which I really like.

Even if you don’t read the magazine, it’s worth picking up for these little gems. Here in Ireland Glamour will set you back just under €3.50. Considering the Pop Lip Colours are €19.50 a pop (see what I did there), ’tis not a bad deal!

I already harped on about my go to highlighter, the Balm’s Mary-Lou Manizer not too long ago here. And then I get my greedy little mitts on this.

The Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in the Shade ‘Champagne Pop’.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Champagne Pop‘Champagne Pop’ is in collaboration with American YouTuber Jaclyn Hill. If you are a YouTube makeup tutorial fan, you already know who Jaclyn Hill is, but if not, she is a Florida based makeup artist turned YouTube makeup guru with millions of people subscribed and watching her makeup tutorials here, including little old me πŸ™‚

We have Becca here in Ireland. Spacenk sell it as well as Mise Beauty. It’s a gorgeous makeup brand that originated in Australia. They already have some beautiful skin perfectors in their collection i.e highlighters, but ‘Champagne Pop’ is the newest one on the block. Unfortunately for us it is a Sephora exclusive, so all us Irish fans had to beg steal and borrow to be the proud owners πŸ™‚

‘Champagne Pop’ is a powder highlight with a peach/champagne tone to it.

Champagne Pop Review

I’ve never owned a Becca Skin Perfector, and now after owning this, I want them all. It glides onto the skin beautifully and is pigmented from the first swipe.

Irish Beauty BlogBut obviously you can build it up to whatever intensity you desire.

It’s gives such a pretty glow to the skin. It shines rather than sparkles if that makes sense? And I love it for this. The peachy shade works on Mac NC20 pale skin, and I have seen others using it with lighter and darker skin tones online and it works just as well.

I apply it with something like this little duo fibre brush from Nima

irish beauty blog beautynookThen apply a couple of light layers to the tops of my cheeks. I’m not going to call them cheekbones because my cheeks are way to chubby for that πŸ™‚

irish makeup and beauty blogIt leaves you with a lovely champagne shine to your skin as you can see.

irishbeautyblogLike Mary-Lou, as well as being an absolutely beautiful highlight on the face, Champagne Pop applies just as lovely on the eyes either on the lids as a peachy pop or in the inner tear ducts to open up the eyes. I use a Nima concealer brush for this or a pencil brush.

I like to apply a little on my cupids bow too if I’m feeling really fancy πŸ™‚

beautynook beauty blogMy skin has a tendency to ‘eat up makeup’. It just soaks in and begins to disappear after a while. I find that ‘Champagne Pop’ does stay put well on me. And even at the end of the day when the oils are after coming through on my skin (shine in the wrong places) I can still see highlighter on my cheeks. For me, this is rare. Mary-Lou Manizer and Champagne Pop have been the only highlighter I have ever owned to stand the test of time on my oily skin.

I can’t really say anything bad about this product except I wish it was easier to get hold of. There has been talk online though about Champagne Pop coming to Europe though, so if it does, run out and buy it, you won’t be disappointed πŸ™‚

I got Champagne Pop direct from Sephora and it cost $38. It is now part of the Becca permanent line and you can buy in Spacenk and on their website.

I thought this week was the perfect week of the year to talk about a love affair I have been having…with a lipstick. It is coming up to Valentine’s Day after all.

If you are a makeup fan you know who Charlotte Tilbury is. IΒ  had the privilege of meeting her and she is as cool in real life #fangirl πŸ™‚

This is her K.I.S.S.I.N.G lippie in “Velvet Underground”.

Charlotte Tilbury Velvet Underground

The packaging bestowed on these lipsticks is beautiful, so I am just going to take a minute and say it’s so pretty and luxurious and rose gold…eeeek!!

It would want to be right? With the price tag of €30 (you can buy them here from Brown Thomas if you so desire). If you are the romantic type and are wanting something pretty for Valentine’s Day, get the other half over to the Charlotte Tilbury counter for a look, this would be the perfect Valentine’s shade πŸ™‚

“Velvet Underground” is a blue based magenta colour.

It is quite a stiff formula in the bullet, especially around these cold parts i.e. Ireland, so to apply it precisely may I suggest a lip brush or any small brush just to perfect the outline.

Lip Brushes

For a pale gal like myself this colour really wakes up my complexion. It is a colour that you can wear boldly and proudly or of course like any lipstick patted into the lips for a more demure look. It smells really nice, not really important I know but it is an added bonus πŸ™‚

Charlotte Tilbury also claim that these lipsticks contain an anti oxidant that protect your lips from UV damage and pollution, another added bonus.

“Velvet Underground” is the only one I own right now from the brand (I have my eye on “Love Liberty”Β  which is one of the Matte Revolution lipsticks aswell), so I can only give my opinion on this shade. It is really pigmented, a little goes a long way, it lasts really well on the lips without drying them out or caking up. It has a satin finish, so there is a bit of a sheen to it, it looks lovely with a gloss layered over top too.

I really am in love with this. It is an investment I know, but if makeup is your thing or you are looking to invest in a special item, it really lives up to the hype.

What do you think, would you splurge? You can buy Charlotte Tilbury makeup from Brown Thomas in store or online here
