This was a pretty off the cuff video idea. I say that a lot, I know 🙂 Currently I am on a job hunt and I was about to get ready for an interview. I thought I would pop the camera on and create a video on my job interview makeup look.
Just a side note, this was not for a corporate position, so I didn’t have to be too formal. I would describe my job interview makeup look as my everyday makeup look, just a bit more polished. I kept everything pretty simple and neutral. A bit of shimmer on the eyes and a glossy mauve lip.
I used eyeshadow for liner to give everything a softer look and used a neutral eye pencil in the water line to make me look more awake. Of course, typical timing, I have a cold at the minute so I tried to disguise that a bit too.
I used some reliable products, but I did throw in some new ones too. As always, I will list everything, as I do go through them quite quickly 🙂
A lot of product I know, but I kept it pretty simple I think? Let me know sure 🙂 If you want to see my Job Interview get ready with me video in full, just click on it above, or here.
My first get ready with me for 2018! You know I love these videos myself, I love zoning out and just watching the makeup take shape. This makeup look is one I did to go out for dinner.
I had some new products I wanted to use and I wanted to look put together but not too dolled up, if that makes sense?
Now of course that’s up for interpretation. You could look at this makeup look and think you could never in a million years put this much makeup on.
Ok, writing it out, it’s a hell of a lot of product to use in one makeup look I know, but I do go a bit extra with things. Not all steps are necessary 🙂
All the products listed are linked and you can go directly to my YouTube channel here if you want to check out the video directly.
I do love a good get ready with me video 🙂 This time I’m doing a really simple brown smoky eye.
I used some of the new products that I hauled here not too long ago. And I actually I think I hauled some of them here too. I have been hauling a bit over the past while. I reckon it’s the change in temperature that makes me spendy. That’s my excuse and I am sticking to it 🙂
I was heading out, so wanted a decent face of makeup on but still wanted to keep it simple. When in doubt, I tend to taupe it out. A brown smoky eye is kind of my safety blanket. There’s a few old reliable favourites within the mix, but for the most part I used some new out and new to me products.
So let’s get listing:
Elf Mineral Infused Face Primer. More info here. I bloody forgot to put it in the product shot here like a dope. It’s the first primer I use though, yes I used two!
Phew, that’s a lot of product I know, but I swear the video is short 🙂 You can click above to watch it or as always head to my YouTube channel here.
And that’s my easy brown smoky eye. I promise it’s easy! Let me know what you think.

I have here six products that are currently in heavy rotation in both my makeup and skincare routines. And they all fall under the affordable beauty umbrella. My last version of this post is here if you fancy seeing what made the cut.
All the makeup products are reasonably new to me. The skincare, I’ve been using for quite a while.
First up we have the new product to me in the bunch the Elf Shimmer Highlighting Powder in Pearl Glow.
Elf can definitely be a hit or miss brand for me. Well let’s face it, most brands can be hit or miss. But I’ve owned Elf products in the past that I’ve adored and some that made their was straight to the bin. This highlighter falls into the adore category. I’ve been wearing it everyday since I got it. It’s a really soft blendable powder with a pearly gold shimmer.
Really nice for pale gals like myself 🙂 Elf is now available in Superdrug, certain Penneys stores and an abundance of pharmacies here in Ireland. You can also buy from their UK website here.
Generally my straight lashes need a waterproof formula. But as they are currently chemically curled, this has been my jam! The brush is huge and it does clump a little. But, it also gives really nice length and volume. If you have semi decent lashes naturally, this is a really nice mascara.
Thirdly, we have the Catrice Ultimate Matt Lipstick in From Rose With Love. Visually these lippies are so cool. The bullet is completely matte!
They have a really nice smooth long lasting formula as well though. I am not just digging them for the bullet 🙂 This colour is just me in a lipstick. I am a mauve whore and this feeds my habit completely. I have been gravitating towards this so much since I got it.
Number four is a makeup brush. I picked up what I could find of the new Primark/Penneys PS Pro makeup brush range. This particular one came in a pack of two that cost €4.
It’s called the 236. It’s a dome shaped blending brush. It is small but soft and fluffy. I love it for applying colour softly in the crease. I am super impressed with these brushes so far.
My last faves come as a combo for me. The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% and the Advanced Retinoid 2%.
I feel like I can’t review them singularly because I alternate between the two.
At 32 now, I am doing some major ageing prevention in skincare form at least. Retinol is the way to go if you are looking to do this. I use this every second night in my skincare routine and my skin has been really enjoying it. Also, it’s only €9.80 from the Deciem website here.
When I don’t use the retinol, I use The Ordinary Hyaluronic 2% + B5.
Hyaluronic Acid can apparently attract 1000 times its weight in water. It’s great for hydration and helping in plumping the skin.
What I love about this is that it doesn’t feel heavy, but still feels like it’s moisturising the skin. I generally use it conjunction with an night moisturiser or a face oil. This is again available from their website here.
Forgive me. I thought I would sit down and use some of the new makeup products that have come my way over the past few weeks. Some are PR samples, some were gifts from lovely people and some I bought myself.
Then, I thought I would sit down, play with some new makeup and answer some of your questions. Still OK.
It kind of turned into using new makeup and having a bit of a therapy session though. And as a result, the video is nearly 30 minutes long! It was also a bitch to edit. When I am rambling I say ’em’ so much, it is infuriating!
As a beauty blogger, I don’t delve into my personal life all that much. It’s not really that necessary. You come here for the beauty chats 🙂 I don’t hide it either though. If you follow me on social media, I do dip in and out of life updates.
I use lots of new makeup products in this video. Some I have used before, some are brand new out and some are just new to me. I give you a run down of my impressions and how they apply, as well as talking a lot of shit too 🙂
I have posts already on the Essence Collection here. Also the Tarte Shape Tape aswell here.
There’s some new products from The Body Shop and Catrice being put to the test too.
The makeup ended up being a simple bronzed eye with a pop of colour in the water line and a mauve lip. Very me and I ain’t mad at it 🙂
As always you can click on the video above to watch or go directly to my YouTube channel by clicking here.
If you manage to get to the end, I thank you with all of my heart 🙂
I am back with another Get Ready With Me video! This one is a more casual night out makeup look.
I was heading to a blogger event that evening, so knew I needed to put a bit more makeup on than the average day. It wasn’t a full on lashes and glam scenario though, hence the name ‘casual night out makeup’. 🙂
We were dog sitting so it was really nice to turn the camera on somewhere else and film. Also, the surroundings were much nicer than what I am accustomed too in my little house, that’s for sure 🙂 Louis the schnauzer was also on hand to make a cameo at the end of the video. How cute is he though? He slept right through filming on the couch beside me.
As always, I will try list all the products I used. Of course, if I miss something and you’re curious, just ask. I love nothing more than to talk makeup with people.
Benefit Matte Resue
Benefit Porefessional. I actually did a first impressions on the new goodies from the Porefessional range here if you’re interested.
Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation. I will be reviewing this very soon.
Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Liner and Lipstick in ‘Pillow Talk’. The lipstick is now available in Ireland, but I do have a post on it before it was here.
As always you can watch the video by clicking on it above, or directly on my YouTube channel here.
And that’s my casual night out makeup done! As always, thanks for tuning it, I really appreciate it.
