Maybelline Eraser Eye fans here in Ireland have been waiting way too long for these to launch!

The Maybelline Eraser Eye Neutralizer and Brightener Concealers are now available in Boots and Superdrug. I also spotted the Brightener one in Mc Cabes Pharmacy on my hunt for them too!

Maybelline Eraser Eye

It took me a long time to warm to the original. I realise now it was because the lightest colour wasn’t light enough for my skin tone.

Maybelline Eraser Eye Neutralizer

The consistency and coverage is on point though! I also like the sponge tipped applicator, I know it’s not for everyone. These are not only meant to conceal. They’re also meant to treat the under eye area too and help with puffiness.

Maybelline Eraser Eye Brightener

Both of these have been out in the States for literally years, I just didn’t think they were going to release them on these shores. But, low and behold they crept onto our Maybelline stands and I for one am very happy about it. If you follow me on Snapchat (shameless plug, I’m just Beautynook over there), you’ll know I went to three different Boots to source both of the colours! That is makeup dedication right there. Shout out to John for chauffeuring me around 🙂

The first new shade on stands is a Neutralizer.

This as the name would suggest is for neutralizing any discolouration you might have under the eyes.

It has a yellow undertone to cancel darkness, but is also quite light to brighten things up too.

The second on is a Brightener.

This, like the Neutralizer is quite light in colour with more of a pink tone.

This is meant to conceal but also bring light to the undereye and by doing that make you look more awake.

I’ve actually been using both of these together, just because I have them though. I wouldn’t suggest you need both of them in your life. Like the normal Maybelline Eraser Eye, they have a really light consistency so you can build up the coverage without the product caking up under the eyes. The formula sets really quickly so you have to work fast as you blend. I’ve been using the Neutralizer first to counteract darkness. Then, adding the Brightener over top for some extra coverage and lightness.

The new Maybelline Eraser Eye shades are available in stores and online now. Here is the Boots website link to them if you want to have a look. I picked mine up in Boots for €13.79 a piece. I know Superdrug were doing a really good deal on them though if you are looking to sniff out a bargain 🙂

Are you intrigued?

I’ve had the Rimmel Brow Shake Filling Powder in my possession a while now. Actually, I’ve been calling it the Brow This Way Soft Powder, which is what is written on the packaging. But, after googling it to find a Boots link, I couldn’t find anything by that name.

Rimmel Brow Shake Filling Powder

Turns out they call it the Rimmel Brow Shake Filling Powder everywhere! Anyhow, I digress 🙂 This is a new (ish) brow powder from Rimmel.

Rimmel Brown Shake

It comes in a little bottle, with it’s own applicator inside. I picked up the shade 002 Medium Brown, which is a pretty ok match for my brows. It does come in four shades though ranging from black to blonde.

It reminds me very much of a powder eye liner. It has the same type of flat, but rounded applicator on the lid.

Rimmel Brow This WayRimmel Irelandirish beauty blog

The premise is you shake up the powder product onto the applicator while the packaging is still closed and then it is loaded up to fill your brows in with.

top irish beauty blog

It has a shaker ball within the lid, which I find a bit odd. If it was going to help keep the powder separated, surely it should be in the container itself? Perhaps I have the complete wrong end of the stick about how it works and if I do, I apologise 🙂

The powder itself packs alot of punch which is great. The medium shade has a greyish undertone too which I always like as well. It seems to adhere to the skin well and lasts too.

For me, I find the packaging and the applicator or the Rimmel Brow Shake doesn’t really work. If you have fabulous full brows (like Cara in the promo ads), I think this would work quite well for you. You can just fill in any gaps lightly really quickly with it and comb through to take away any excess with a spooley and, you’d be good to go. For my struggling brows, the sponge applicator is just too big and rounded. It picks up and applies too much product. I need more precision and have more control over my application.

I find the sponge can drop alot of the powder too on the way from the bottle to your face, which can be a tad messy.

It works ok on my ‘better brow’, which I am showing here. On my right brow, it’s a bit of a disaster!

Overall, I like the powder within. Just for me, the packaging and execution doesn’t really work. You can find the Rimmel Brow Shake Filling Powder in Boots in store on online for €7.99 here. Have you tried it?

I am sure you are no stranger to the L’Oréal Color Riche Lipstick. The brand are constantly bringing out different versions of them. I only spoke about the Gold Obsession collection here at the end of last year. I recieved some of the L’Oréal Color Riche Matte Addiction Lipsticks and I thought I give you an overview.

L'Oréal Color Riche Matte Addiction Lipstick

I am definitely more of a matte lipstick wearer. I do dabble in a glossy finish from time to time. Generally though, a more matte finish is my thing. I do believe some of the shades (upon googling) have been out in different formats before, but the L’Oréal Color Riche Matte Addiction formula is being called their ‘boldest, most moisturising matte lipsticks.’

I have three of the colours from the collection here, but Boots and Superdrug, among other places, have an abundance of shades to choose from.

L'Oréal lipstick

The packaging is what you would expect from the Color Riche range with a matte black finish.

The scent is typical of L’Oréal lippies. It reminds me of my Cabbage Patch Doll. D’ya remember what they smelled like? It is quite strong and sweet. I myself find it kind of nostalgic, but I am sure it could be off putting for other people.

Onto the swatching 🙂

463 ‘Plum Tuxedo’. A pink with purple tones, definitely not plum. It’s also less opaque than the other two shades I have:

The L’Oréal Color Riche Matte Addiction Lipsticks are super soft and pigmented. They have a matte velvet finish, but don’t dry down completely on the lips. This means you will get residue, but it also means they don’t crack or feel super uncomfortable either. Because the formula is so soft, I do recommend using a lip brush to apply the bolder colours and it is harder to get a strong line straight from the bullet. They last reasonably well on the lips and the deeper colours do leave behind a stain. Overall, I am a big fan of the formula.

The L’Oréal Color Riche Matte Addiction Lipstick seem to vary in price online. Boots have them on 3 for 2 at the moment here. They are priced at €10.49 each.

Do any of the shades tickle your fancy?

I stalked the Mac Extra Dimension Skin Finish in ‘Beaming Blush’ for quite some time before I bit the bullet and picked one up. You know you’re a makeup addict when you go and visit makeup products in their natural habitat.

Mac Extra Dimension Skin Finish

I first set my eyes on it when I was in town with Sinéad from The Beautiful Truth and we were doing a little makeup perusing. One of the lovely girls in Mac on Henry Street got chatting with us and was showing us the new Strobe Creams. And then, the four new Extra Dimension Skin Finishes. If you follow me on Snapchat, you probably heard me squeal like a pig when I swatched them. I am super classy, I know 🙂

Mac Extra Dimension Skin Finish

The Mac Extra Dimension Skin Finish in ‘Beaming Blush’ was the one that caught my eye the most and then eventually ended up coming home with me. My brother always gives me a Brown Thomas voucher for Christmas so I used that to feed my highlight habit.

You get 9 grams of product in the typical clear lid Mac compact.

‘Beaming Blush is an iridescent pink powder highlight. The base colour is quite a cool pink but when it catches the light it shimmers gold.

It is quite an interesting combo, I think that’s why it caught my eye so much. It is cool toned and warm toned all in the one powder. The powder itself is soft to the touch. When you swatch it with your finger it is definitely super opaque.

It much softer when you apply with a brush to the skin, which gives you the chance to build up the colour to your liking. It isn’t a blinding highlight. I find it really easy to blend aswell.

I would say the finish is shimmery with a bit of sparkle to it. It lasts pretty well on my skin too.

I have nothing like it in my collection, and I thought it was fun and a little different to the typical highlight colours out there. All four of colours have an interesting iridescents to them.

The Mac Extra Dimension Skin in ‘Beaming Blush is available in Brown Thomas in store or online here for €31.50. All four are permanent in the collection.

The Zoeva Plaisir Box is one of the fanciest makeup products I have ever owned!

Zoeva Plaisir Box

Well it’s actually three products in a very swish box, but you know what I mean 🙂

Zoeva Plaisir Box

I spotted Anna from TheAnnaEdit chatting on her blog about it before Christmas and shared her post on the Beautynook Facebook page, just because it looked so pretty. So many of you lovely people told me just how much you loved the Zoeva eye shadows. That alone sold me so thank you! I have lots of Zoeva brushes in my possession, this is my first step into their makeup products. But, after this experience I would 100 percent buy more!

The Zoeva Plaisir Box comes impeccably packaged. It is in the same vein as a swanky box of chocolates. The box is sleeved as well as the individual palettes. Honestly, I know I sound a tad over the top, but it’s a joy to unbox.

Zoeva ireland

The three palettes (which are available to buy separately) are all named very chocolate appropriately. There’s ‘Caramel Melange, ‘Blanc Fusion’ and ‘Cocoa Blend’.

Zoeva brushesZoeva Cosmetics

The eye shadows themselves in my opinion are a joy to work with. They are soft, rich in pigment and I, as of yet have experienced minimal fall out when using them. There is a mixture of shimmers (almost foil like), mattes and a couple of satin finishes. You have warm and more cool toned colours within the mix too. The shades on a whole lean more towards the neutral side, but there is a couple of fun ones thrown in for good measure as well. I, myself wouldn’t use all of the shades on a general basis, but the majority as shades I would gravitate towards for everyday makeup and for the evening too. There is ten shadows in each palette, each pan is 1.5 grams.

Here are they are in action:

‘Caramel Melange’ is the warmest of the three.

This is a weird sentence, but it took me a while to warm to highlighters. With my oily skin, adding glow was just never a thing I wanted to do. But as makeup has developed and become more long lasting. I can mattify and then add shine when I want too. I feel liberated 🙂 Over the last couple of years I have been adding them to my makeup collection like a fiend. Powder more than anything else. One of my latest highlight purchases I want to talk about it the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in ‘Pearl’.

Becca shimmering skin perfector pearl

I know how good Becca Shimmering Skin Perfectors are. I have ‘Champagne Pop’ and ‘Prosecco Pop’ in my possession already. And although I love them and reach for them, they are both a little dark for my complexion. But by god I make them work!

becca cosmetics ireland

I had some Christmas money burning a hole in my pocket a couple of weeks back and pottered into Spacenk. I bloody love that place. On the spot decided I wanted a new Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector. The formula and pigmentation is just so nice. They melt into the skin. They also don’t disappear completely on me after a couple of hours of wear. I had a swatch of all of them and after careful thought, went with ‘Pearl’. Believe it or not, I actually don’t have a highlighter in my collection that is this icy white. Comparing it to the other swatches I thought it would compliment my pink toned Irish skin the most.

It swatches on the arm how you would expect. Icy and shimmery.

When you apply it with a brush to the skin, it’s much lighter and leaves more of a cool toned shine with a hint of shimmer. The formula allows you to build up the intensity too without looking too powdery.

I have nothing bad to say. It’s a great addition to my collection and I’m delighted my shopping whim paid off 🙂

The Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector comes with 7 grams of product. I picked up Pearl in store here in Dublin for €36. You can get them from the Spacenk website here too for £32.
