It’s been a minute since I did a get ready with me style video. I love watching these types of videos. I feel like you can just zone out and get lost in the makeup application πŸ™‚ We were going out for the day this past Sunday so I turned the camera on. I’m calling this my daytime glam makeup look.

As you probably know I have oilier skin, so I do probably put in a few more extra steps when it comes to base and the likes. Especially if I know I am going to be out for the entire day. And in this instance I was going to be outside, so I took extra care.

I started out with prepped moisturised skin. Here is a list of what I used in case you’re interested.

As always I’ll try to list all of the products that physically go on my face for this daytime glam makeup affair. Apologies if I miss one out. There’s a fair few πŸ™‚

Primer:

Essence Mattifying + Pore Minimizing Primer, with the Urban Decay Optical Illusion Complexion Primer in my t-zone.

Base:

EsteΓ© Lauder Double Wear Nude mixed with the Kat Von D Lock it Foundation for extra coverage. Tarte Shape Tape Concealer.

Brows: theBalm Furrowcious Brow Pencil in dark brown. I prefer the light brown, but I ran out. Kiss Beautiful Brow Kit with Benefit’s 3D Brow Tones over top.

Eyes:

Zoeva Matte Eyeshadow Fix. I used a matte bone single from Penneys to set my lids, then went in with the BPerfect LMD Master Palette. I point out the shades in the video.

Mac Teddy Eye Kohl. With the Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Torch in my waterline.

Mascara is L’OrΓ©al Lash Paradise Waterproof with Mac Extended Play on the bottom.

I used the Isa Dora Blotting Powder to set my face and the Kat Von D Lock It Powder in Petal under my eyes.

Bronzer is the Clarins Summer one for 2018. Blush, my fave Mac Springsheen.

Highlight is my current obsession, the PixiΒ Glow-y Gossamar Duo in Subtle Sunrise.

To finish things off I used Urban Decay All Nighter Spray and then the new theBalm Balm Jour Creamy Lip Stain in Hola. I love these!

********PR SAMPLES USED*********

This was very much an off the cuff makeup video. I had just come back from a PR event with Primark/Penneys which was soooooo nice but ended up being way longer than I thought. I had decided before I went I was going to go toΒ  Alltech with John that evening too, which is a food and drink fair. It’s on every year here in Dublin in the Convention Centre. And if you know John you know how obsessed he is with craft beer. It was literally like Christmas Day for him, so no way was he letting me make him late πŸ™‚

day time to night time makeup tutorial

I had to high tail it home. Luckily Penneys very kindly fed me, so I just had to ‘zhush’ myself up. I say that a lot in this video ha!

I have oily skin, which I’m sure you know if you’ve been around these parts before. So my skin looked a bit like this when I sat down to sort my face out.

irish beauty blog

I had this makeup on for about five hours, it had definitely started to deteriorate. I didn’t have time to re-do my makeup completely, so this was the easiest option. Just go over what I already had on. I do this quite a lot and it seems to work quite well for me. I thought I would turn the camera on last minute and show you how I do it.

irish beauty blogger

The products I used aren’t really the main focus in this video, although I do talk you through some of them. The Pixi Cosmetics Mixed Metals Palette is a real winner for me at the moment. As is the I Heart Makeup Blush in Peachy Pink Kiss.

beauty blog ireland

I did edit out my ’ems and cut down some of the processes, but for the most part the video is pretty accurate time wise. All in all, it took me about 20 minutes, hair zhushing and top changing included πŸ™‚

Let me know what you think and if you like these types of more real life scenario videos. Thank you as always for clicking.

Lush The Man In The MoonDon’t be jealous, but last week I popped into Lush in Grafton Street to have a look at some of the new Christmas stock. Yes it’s not even Halloween yet and I’m talking about Christmas. This is the way of the retail world πŸ™‚ I got to hang out, play with some bubbles and even got to make my own Butter Bear! I also very generously got to take home a goodie bag with me. Mine contained the new Lush The Man In The Moon Christmas Tin. Do you want to see what’s inside?

Lush Dublin

Lush The Man In The Moon comes in a really cool Christmas Tin. When I first saw it I was saying if you wrapped it up and gave it to someone, they would just assume it was a box of Roses or Quality Street. The theme of the tin is very much night time relaxing and helping you to drift off to sleep.Lush ChristmasLush Christmas 2017

It comes with eight products within. Two bubble bars, one sparkle jar, three bath bombs, a shower gel and a body lotion. You can have a look at it in full on the UK Lush website here.

Lush The Man In The Moon

First up we have the gift’s namesake, the Man In The Moon Bubble Bar.

irish beauty blogger

It’s very sweet and limey, but it has an underlying muskiness too. It will turn your bath green. Neroli and lime are the main components of the scent so that makes sense completely.

beauty blog

The Magic Of Christmas reusable bubble bar in the other bubble maker in the tin. I’ve actually had this before. I got it a couple of Christmases ago in the Lush Wonderland set here.

beauty blog

Cinnamon is definitely the main component for the Magic Of Christmas, which I’m sure isn’t surprising it all. The star is on top of a cinnamon stick πŸ™‚

beauty blog ireland

Almond is another scent front runner here as it contains almond oil. It’s very much Christmas in bath form. I am not usually a cinnamon fan, but I actually really enjoy this. And it looks so pretty too!

irish beauty blog

There are three Twilight related products within the Lush The Man In The Moon tin. If you like lavender, you will love these.

First up is the Twilight Sparkle Jar.

beauty blogger ireland

This is a massage bar, so you use it to moisturise your skin. Your body heat allows it to melt and then you can massage in the product. It contains lavender oil, cocoa butter, tonka and chamomile. It also leaves behind a gold sparkle, so probably not for everyday use. But nice for a special occasion over the festive season. You can press something pointy into the dimples of the crescent to get even more sparkle.

Next is the Twilight Shower Gel. You get a 100 gram bottle.

This again has lavender and tonka within. It also has Ylang Ylang oil.

Lush Cosmetics

The last Twilight offering is their well known bath bomb.

lush dublin

This contains all the main ingredients that the shower gel has with added benzoin resinoid. This is an anti inflammatory. This is one of my favourite bath bombs.

lush bath bomb

Next up we have the Sleepy Body Lotion. You get a mini 50 gram tub of this.

dublin beauty blog

It has all the lovely ingredients of the Twilight shower gel & bubble bar with added oatmeal. It’s made specifically with sleep in mind.

dublin beauty bloggertop irish beauty site

The last two products are bath bombs. We have Shoot For The Stars.

irish beauty site

This is honey scented with orange oil, bergamot and coconut cream. It turns your bath blue with golden glitter from the bath melt stars.

irish beauty youtuber

Last but not least is the Rocket Science bath bomb.

irish beauty vlogger

Mine got a bit of a bashing in transit, but he’s still lovely.

top irish vlogger

This is a slow fizzer so it’ll give you something to focus on in the bath πŸ™‚ It has bergamot and lemon oil in it and turns your bath blue.

top irish blog

And there we have the Lush The Man In The Moon Christmas Gift Tin. I am a huge fan of Lush, so cannot wait to get stuck in. If I were more fancy, I would have shown you them all in action, but I didn’t want to waste anything πŸ™‚ I’ve linked all of the goodies individually so you can see what they are priced at alone. What’s your favourite Lush product?

**********PR SAMPLE************

Ok, handbag makeup essentials is a bit of a broad statement. And very much up to the individual who owns said bag and makeup πŸ™‚

These are my interpretation of handbag makeup essentials. For your everyday ‘throw everything into’ bag. I know the evening out bag generally consists of just powder and lippie. These are the products that you carry around, just in case. In case you get stuck at work late and have to go out after. Or you’re just out, and then decide you want to go out out. Or, you just want to refresh your makeup and maybe add some more definition.

I have oily skin, so for me blotting sheets are a must. Although I’m constantly running out. I generally pick up the Catrice or Essence ones. Super affordable and do the job perfectly. Even if you’re not super oily, these are just great to have. I have been known to use tissue too though. If you split 2 ply tissues apart, the one layer does a darn good job at blotting! I have another alternative here too if you want to check it out.

Handbag Makeup Essentials

Once your base is ready to receive another layer of makeup, don’t go too crazy. Less is more. If you pile it on, it’ll probably just move around. A light concealer will work if you have blemishes or under eyes that really need more covering, or your foundation has rubbed off anywhere. I generally like having a more liquid formula of concealer on hand, it’s easier to blend over anything that’s already there.

irish beauty blog

Depending on your preference, a powder is nice to have around, whether it be a translucent or something with a little more coverage. It’s good to powder your nose, but it’s also nice to have if you need to set your lids to jazz them up a little. I prefer to use a brush to set with, just because it adds less product to the skin. Just preference though and another thing to carry πŸ™‚

irish beauty blogger

This brings me on to another handbag makeup essential, an eyeliner! Whether it’s just a flesh coloured one for a more natural look or a black or brown for more intensity. A slick of liner across the lash line, or blended out all over the lid, can really help define a simple makeup look. Kohl is great if you want to create a really quick smoky eye, as it works on the lid and in the water line too.

beauty blogger ireland

By no means is bronzer a handbag makeup essential, but it is great for adding more colour to the skin and adding some definition to the eyes too. I carry one because I have a mini. Mini products are a handbag’s best friend πŸ™‚

beauty blog ireland

If I’m being completely honest I have all of these plus mascara, eyebrow powder, highlighter… I could go on, don’t judge me, I like to be prepared. I was a scout growing up.

I’ll add two more things into my essentials kit though. A brighter (or darker) lip shade. A slick of fresh statement lippie and a bit of powder and you can be good to go for the night.

top irish beauty blog

Lastly, I’ll add in a setting spray or even just a facial mist. Again, I have a mini one that I just refill. Something that you can refresh with. But also set with and to take away the powdered look which really helps when touching up. Urban Decay do travel versions of their setting sprays here.

And there you have my handbag makeup essentials. Too much? Probably πŸ™‚ What’s the one makeup product you always bring with you? (Handbag featured was part of recent haul video here, if you’re curious).

Elf Magnetic Mask

The Elf Magnetic Mask is one of the coolest products I have ever tried. Does it work? I’m not sure yet I’ve only used it twice so far. I couldn’t resist putting in a video though to show you how you use it.

This concept of the Elf Magnetic Mask isn’t new to the market necessarily. There has been a few out before it. But, this is hands down the most affordable one at the moment. Unfortunately it hasn’t made it to our shores yet.

irish beauty vlogger

elf cosmetics ireland

I was lucky enough to get one as a press sample. It is on their website here though and they do international shipping, if you fancy taking the plunge. For some reason the euro price is much more expensive. Hopefully if it does come over here, it won’t be as bad.

top irish beauty blog

I can say my skin felt really nice both times I’ve used it. And I do feel like it drew some clogged pores to the surface. I definitely had a bit of a breakout after the first time. But in a good way, if that makes sense? πŸ™‚

top irish beauty blogger

So in the video I give you a demo of the Elf Magnetic Mask. It’s so much fun to use. You apply the mask and then use the magnetized applicator to literally pull it off your skin. Sounds scary, but you can hardly feel it. There’s iron in it so that’s what makes it magnetic.

irish beauty youtuber

I’ve never been happier using a face mask…look at me like!

beauty blog ireland

Within the video, I also gave a quick rundown on what I’ve been using to cleanse and then my bedtime moisturising concoction too.

I used:

  • Bioderma to take my eye makeup off. It’s in a limited edition pump bottle. If you can get your hands on it. Do! It’s on the Cloud10Beauty website here.
  • Nia Cleansing Balm. It’s on their website here.
  • Clarins Double Serum. (Review here).
  • Clarins Total V Contouring Serum.
  • Neostrata Bionic Eye Cream Plus. I found it on the Meaghers Pharmacy website here.
  • The Ordinary Retinoid 2%. More info on this here.
  • Botanics Facial Oil. It’s on the Boots website here.
  • Catrice Volumizing Lip Balm.

This is my current night time routine although I do alternate serums and I don’t always use an oil. I have oily skin, so it really just depends on whether I feel I need it or not.

John kindly bought me the new Urban Decay Naked Skin Shapeshifter for my birthday.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Shapeshifter

I asked him why because it wasn’t something I had hinted at or anything and he simply said. ‘Because you collect Urban Decay.’ Cannot argue with that logic πŸ™‚

urban decay naked

The Urban Decay Naked Skin Shapeshifter is a contour, colour correct and highlighting palette. It comes in two shade ranges. One for darker skin tones and then the one I have here which is the light medium shift, more suited to lighter skin.

irish beauty blog

The palette itself is quite narrow and is two sided. The creams are on one side. You get five in total.

beauty blog ireland

And the powders on the other. You get four in total.

beauty blogger ireland

Both are separated by decent sized, double sided mirror and the palette has a magnetic closure. The packaging reminds me a lot of the Naked Smoky Palette which I reviewed here when it first came out.

top irish beauty blogger

The creams consist of a dark contour shade, a light contour, a colour corrector (peach toned), a colour corrector/highlighter (pink toned) and then a pearl highlighter. You get 2.15 grams of product in each pan.

urban decay irelandtop beauty blogger ireland

The powder side consists of a dark contour, a medium contour, a light contour and a pearl highlighter. You get 3.7 grams of product in each pan.

top beauty blog irelandbeauty blog

Both the creams and the powders are really nice quality. They are all soft, pigmented and easy to blend. The creams do not have any slip too them which I like. And, the powders do have some kick back once a brush is introduced, like most Urban Decay powders because they are so soft in texture. I particularly like the lighter powder contour shade and the highlight shades in both. The dark cream contour shade is a bit too full and brown on for me though.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Shapeshiftertop irish beauty blog

Here they are in action on my face. I used the cream peachy colour corrector and the pink colour corrector/highlight under my eyes and set it with the light powder contour shade. I also used the medium powder contour shade as contour. Then, the cream and powder highlighter shades to highlight the tops of the cheeks and the tear ducts.

I find the light contour shades on both sides a bit confusing. To me, they are both just yellow toned product. I would probably use both to brighten under the eyes. I really couldn’t see them being used as contour products personally.

You can buy the Urban Decay Naked Skin Shapeshifter now in Debenhams in store or online here. It costs €47.50. Have you picked it up? Would you pick it up? I always love to know your thoughts πŸ™‚
