So as you can probably tell from the title, this weeks video is about the Sleek Colour Corrector Palette πŸ™‚

irish beauty blog beautynook

Yep, the one I am pointing to right there πŸ™‚

sleek colour corrector palette

I was dubious about this little palette, I won’t lie. I received it in a very generous goody bag from Sleek along with lots of other amazing goodies. Including theΒ  Solstice Highlighting Palette that I have a review of here. And, the Cleopatra’s Kiss Highlighting Palette which I have a post on here. They got use straight away, the Sleek Colour Corrector Palette got forgotten about.

But, I was shopping my stash which I do regularly and I stumbled across it in the back of a drawer. And sure the rest is history πŸ™‚

You can see my first impressions and a demo of some of the shades on my face in the video above. Or, you can click here to watch it directly.

I show you it in action on my visage, and show how well makeup applies over it. As well as giving you my honest opinion throughout the video.

After (With Makeup Applied On Top Too)

Overall, it’s safe to say I am a fan of the Sleek Colour Corrector Palette! Not all the shades are for one specific person. They are for use on specific complexion issues. That is something to be wary about. I personally like the green and the yellow shade for my skin type.

You can buy it from Boots here, Cloud10Beauty here and Dolledup.ie here. I always like to give some Irish links where I can too. It’s always good to support your own πŸ™‚

Would it rock your boat? I know it’s definitely not a makeup necessity but, would it have a place in your makeup bag? I’d love to know your thoughts πŸ™‚

Another delve into some purse friendly beauty faves. This time I took some inspiration in the changing of the seasons. Here are five Budget Autumn Lipstick choices.

budget autumn lipstick

Autumn makeup for me is summed up by dark vampy lips. Of course, it’s appropriate to wear them all year round, there’s no rules in makeup. But, I always tend to pull out the deeper shades more at this time of the year.

I chose five budget friendly Autumn lipsticks from my collection. All from different brands in hopes of giving you some inspiration for the colder months πŸ™‚

First up we have the Lasting Finish Kate Moss for Rimmel Lipstick in the shade ‘Retro Red’. This is from the 15th anniversary collection.

This has a creamy finish. I thought it would be a good choice if you didn’t want to go full on plum vamp. It’s still dark but as the name would suggest in a more retro red way πŸ™‚ You can get these from Boots instore or online here for €10.99. You can get them in pharmacies and in Penneys too and they’re usually cheaper!

Number 2 on the Budget Autumn Lipstick list is the Sleek VIP Lipstick in ‘Attitude’.

I love these lippies. They are creamy and pigmented and really lovely to apply. This shade for me, is Autumn personified. The formula is quite forgiving on the lips too if they are dryΒ  or cracked. These are available in store or online here from Boots for €7.49. You can find them on Cloud10beauty and Dolledup.ie aswell.

My third pick is one of the Matt Matt Matt lipsticks from Essences Autumn/Winter Collection for this year. You can see the whole collection here. This is in the shade 07 ‘Purple Power.

This is a more purple take on the vampy lip trend. As you would guess from the name this has a matte finish. But it’s not so matte that it will dry out your lips completely. These are a steal too at only €2.90 a pop.

My fourth Budget Autumn Lipstick choice is the Makeup Revolution Rose Gold Lipstick in ‘Private Members Club’.

This is the glossiest choice of the five. It’s plum but with more a blackened undertone, so definitely not for the faint hearted πŸ™‚ You can buy these from Superdrug online or directly from Makeup Revolution here. They cost €4.20 a piece.

My final choice is from Wet n Wild. The Wet n Wild Megalast Matte lipsticks are some of my very favourites. I have a bunch of them swatched here in a previous post. They are pigmented and although matte, still creamy and easy to apply. The shade I have here is ‘Ravin Raisin’.

This is like a 90’s representation of a plum lipstick. It has a mauve undertone and I love it πŸ™‚ You can get the Megalast lipsticks in Penneys and they are a ridiculously reasonable €2.99.

I swatched all of my Budget Autumn Lipstick choices side by side too, just so you could see the differences close up.

It’s monthly favourites time again. I’m back to ramble all about my September Favourites for 2016 this time.

irish beauty blogger

Can you believe it’s October? The year is honestly slipping away at a rapid speed, I can’t keep up at all! My September favourites consist of makeup, skincare, fragrance and even a stab into the fashion world.

September Favourites

There’s the original Urban Decay Naked Palette. You can of course get this from Debenhams here.

The makeup mixing palette, I picked up in store from Penneys for €4. A little bloody bargain.

The Sleek Cleopatra’s Kiss Palette. I have a full review and demo of this here. It’s worth a look, I promise πŸ™‚

The Clarins Instant Light Comfort Lip Oil. A definite splurge at €21, but a really nice treat for the lips. You can get it from Debenhams here.

Stella McCartney Pop Eau De Parfum. Summer in a bottle for me πŸ™‚ You can buy this from Boots or any decent perfume shop. Here’s a link to it on the Debenhams website.

Asian sheet masks are readily available from different sellers on eBay or Amazon. A Irish distribution called Natural Balance Global sent me the SNP ones that I have particularly enjoying. Here’s a link to their website if you fancy checking them out. They do come in boxes of ten though, I think that’s worth noting, in case you were just looking to try them out.

Then, the last of my September Favourites includes my cute little Zara bag. It’s €29.95 and I ordered it from the website here. May I add, Zara are killing it in the bag game. I just went on there to get the link for my bag and saw at least five other bags I really really want!

And there you have my September favourites for 2016!

I am kinda sad to be leaving the Summer behind, not gonna lie πŸ™‚

Anything you’ve been particularly loving lately?

This is my interpretation of an Autumn Makeup Look.

irish beauty blog

Of course makeup has no rules and you can wear what you want. But, we do (well I think we do), tune in to certain trends for the different seasons. For me, when I think of an Autumn Makeup Look I think of golds and bronze shades on the eyes and dark lips.

In this video I used some old favourites. Yes, I dusted off the original Urban Decay Naked Palette for this look. I forgot just how much I loved this! The shade ‘Half-Baked’ is probably my favourite gold eyeshadow ever. It is just so flattering on the eyes.

I also dipped into a couple of newbie products from Sleek Makeup. The Cleopatra’s Kiss Highlighter Palette which I only spoke about here recently. And one of their Matte Me liquid lipstick in ‘Velvet Slipper’. It is out of stock at the moment, eeek, apologies for that! I wouldn’t have used it if I had known!

I mention all the products I use in the video, which as always you can click on above. Or, you can watch it directly over on my Youtube channel here. If you have any questions about anything, you can of course just ask me though πŸ™‚

I always like to stress to that I am not a makeup artist, just someone who loves makeup…alot πŸ™‚

Autumn Makeup Look

Let me know what you think of my super simple Autumn Makeup Look. And let me know the makeup looks or products that make you think of Autumn. Dark lips are the only thing I like about the weather getting colder, I swear. The sun hasn’t even completely gone yet and I am already mourning it πŸ™‚

As always, thanks for taking the time to watch, read and interact. I really really appreciate it.

There’s a new highlighting palette on the block. It comes in the form of Sleek Cleopatra’s Kiss. I got gifted this at the Sleek Blogger Brunch along with some other fabulous makeup goodies!

Sleek Cleopatra's Kiss Highlighting Palette

Sleek know their way around a highlighter palette. Whether it is creams, powders or both, the beauty community have been embracing them with both arms, myself included πŸ™‚ The newest offering the Sleek Cleopatra’s Kiss Palette does not disappoint either.

Sleek Ireland

Encased in a mirrored gold case just like the Sleek Solstice Palette which I have a post on here. Cleopatra’s Kiss comes with four shades. Two powders highlights and two creams.

Sleek Makeup IrelandIrish beauty blogSleek Highlight

From left to right, we have:

‘Sphinx’, a powder. This is a bronzed gold shade.

‘Delta’ on the row beside this is a cream bronzed golden shade with really small bronze particles running through it.

‘Dynasty’ is another cream bronzer. It is a paler gold shade with golden shimmer.

Then finally, we have ‘Goddess’ which is a powder. This is a light champagne colour with some sparkle. It is probably the most subtle of all four colours.

Here’s all four swatched with the flash on and in natural light.

All four shades in the Sleek Cleopatra’s Kiss Palette compliment each other well, I think and can be layered or worn on their own.

I applied the powders to my face to give you an idea of how they look.

Here’s Goddess in action. This gives a more subtle sheen to the skin with a bit of sparkle.

Then, here is ‘Sphinx’. I applied this with a dry brush in the first picture and then dampened it with some setting spray for application in the second one.

Overall, the Sleek Cleopatra’s Kiss is a really nice highlighting palette. The lighter shades are probably more appropriate for my skin tone, but I really enjoy the formula and the colour pay off of all four. You can find it online on Dolledup.ie here and it will set you back €12.49.

I also got a Solstice Palette at the Sleek Blogger Brunch, which I already have. So, I thought I would give one of you the opportunity to win it.

As you probably know from the title, this is just a casual Makeup Get Ready With Me Video. Myself and John went to a screening of Rocky in the Tivoli for the Jameson Cult Club and I had to slap a bit of…slap on, so I thought I would turn the camera on and film it πŸ™‚

Casual Makeup grwmWe actually had loads of fun at the Rocky screening, they had scenes out of the movie set up in the Tivoli, and throughout the film, actors came in and reenacted some of the most memorable parts.

jameson cult film clubrocky jameson cult film clubirish blogirish bloggerSo onto the makeup, I went with a really simple, typical me eye look, using theBalm Meet Matte Nudes palette (full review here) and the Essence Shape & Shadows palette (full review here). I had a bit of trouble blending out one of the matte shades in the crease as you’ll see in the video, but sure none of us are perfect and I got there in the end πŸ™‚

All the products are listed in the video, I managed to edit the names in as I went along! Go me, that means my editing skills are progressing ha!

This is really just me doing my casual makeup, no funny business, I didn’t speed any of it up either, so if you don’t like seeing alot of blending, this video might not be for you πŸ™‚

Any questions on any of the products, as always just holler, I have posts on alot of them here, so if you see something you like, search for it in the search bar on the top right hand corner, and there might be already a full explanation with pictures to boot!

If you liked the video, you can always subscribe to my Youtube channel here so any other videos I upload will go into your subscription box.

As always thanks for taking the time out of your day to click πŸ™‚
