Essence & The Lovely Little Things

My posts on the Essence Cosmetics collections seem to go down well, so I thought I would throw another one into the mix. The newest one on the block is the Essence & The Lovely Little Things Trend Edition.

Essence & The Lovely Little Things

I have the majority of what will be available here. I am just missing the new nail polish shades.

02 & The Love Story With My Wardrobe. These shadows are more bronzed in tone. This one is probably my favourite of the three. The shadows seem the most pigmented in my humble opinion.

I roped John in to do the Boyfriend Does My Makeup challenge! It took a bit of persuading, he was a bit skeptical about being in front of the camera.

After a few beers though, we set up the camera and we jumped in. And I think you’ll agree with me after watching it. He took to it like a duck to water πŸ™‚ I never particularly pride myself on being great in front of the camera, I just do it because I enjoy it. He’s so bloody quick and funny, he puts me to shame really πŸ™‚

irish beauty blog

It took us an age to begin though because he couldn’t get used to the ring light at all. So if you hear him complaining about the light, that’s what he is on about!

If you’re not an avid YouTube watcher like myself. The Boyfriend Does My Makeup challenge is basically an umbrella term for your partner chancing their arm with your makeup. Myself and John are together over thirteen years, so calling him my ‘boyfriend’ is a bit strange. He’s just John to me now ha!

He tries to think he knows a thing or two about makeup. And to give him credit, he does listen to me harp on. (Notice the Anastasia Subculture reference he makes). I don’t think he realised just how hard it is to apply it all, and how much time and effort goes into it all. I reckon he won’t badger me so much now when I’m running late for a night out πŸ™‚

Boyfriend Does My Makeup

I won’t name the products he uses, sure none of them went on right ha. But if you want to see me put the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette to proper use, I have a post on it here.

If you want to watch the video, just click on it above, or you watch it directly on YouTube here. Big shout out to John for being a great sport. My sides were sore from laughing. I hope you get a laugh from it too πŸ™‚

I did a What’s In My Handbag video last year when I was heading to a blogger event here. That was more of an evening appropriate bag. I thought I would do an updated one.

irish beauty vlogger

This is completely just for fun, no rhyme or reason. I love seeing what other people lug around in their handbag. My bag is technically a bag pack, I am trying something different for me. I adore handbags, but I am a little brat when it comes to carrying them. I thought a bag pack might make things a little easier. So far, so good πŸ™‚

top irish beauty blog

I don’t have a link for it unfortunately, it seems to be gone now. But Zara have lots of lovely bags in at the minute. So many in fact, that I am going to leave a link here, but I’m not going to click on it myself. I can not afford to ha!

zara handbagzara bagpack

The contents of my handbag comprises mainly of makeup. Shock horror I know! When I put something in, I rarely remember to take it out. So, the bag becomes it’s residents for the foreseeable future.

what's in my handbag

You can of course see me talk about everything in a bit more detail in the video above, or you can click here to watch it directly over on my YouTube channel.

I admire people who have their shit together and have their handbag neat and tidy. I am definitely not one of them. Things just get thrown in and I hope for the best. The bigger the bag, the bigger the mess. I like to call it organised chaos though. I know what I have in it, it just might take me a while to find it πŸ™‚

As always thanks for taking the time to watch and read. Do you like these types of ‘nonsense’ videos? I would love your feedback.

As I am writing this we are in Kinsale for a couple of days. I thought I would bring my camera with me and film my November favourites.

November Favourites

You can see I brought my ring light too and it gave me somewhat of a halo as it is reflecting off of the picture behind me. Apologies! but sure if the halo fits and all that πŸ™‚

My November favourites consist mostly of makeup with a couple of random things thrown in for good measure.

November Favourites

If you follow me on social media, you know I have begun a bit of a gym journey. I am enjoying it. However the results are slow ( I do like my grub) πŸ™‚ My earphones have become a necessity in my life. So, I had to include them.

My House Of Harlow Sunburst earrings have appeared in my favourites before. I just get so much wear out of them though. I’ve definitely got my monies worth! I thought it was ok to include them again since it was a couple of years since they made an appearance πŸ™‚

I have used the Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette probably everyday of November, so it was a no brainer that I would include in my November Favourites. I have a full review of it here if you want to see it in action.

The L’OrΓ©al True Match Foundation has made its way onto my face on a daily basis over the course of November. I have a full review and all the deets on it here.

The Kiko Longlasting Eyeshadow Sticks are just awesome. I am a huge fan and they are so affordable. You can get them on the Kiko website here.

And then finally we have the Colourpop CrΓ©me Gel Pencil in ‘Get Paid’. You can get it from their website here.

And that’s my November Favourites done πŸ™‚ Happy December….roll on Christmas!!!!!

Have you had any faves this month?

This is a tag that has been going around the beauty Youtube community the last few weeks. I have really been enjoying watching all the videos from big and little youtubers (like myself). So, I thought I would chance my arm and film How I Did My Makeup In School πŸ™‚

how i did my makep in school

In my how i did my makeup in school video, you will learn nothing at all believe me. But it is makeup related, so I figured it was ok πŸ™‚ I actually couldn’t believe how much I remembered about doing my makeup when I was 17 and 18 because I’m not going to lie it was a good while ago now.

Some of the products I used where ones that I did in fact use back in the early noughties.

irish beauty bloggerirish beauty youtube

But I did replace some of them with newer versions that still gave the same effect. Can you believe at one stage of my life, I probably owned only 8 makeup products? It doesn’t even bare thinking about πŸ™‚

how i did my makeup in school

I even threw in how I did my hair and my outfit of choice (kinda) for good measure πŸ™‚

If you want to see me actually do my makeup half decent, here’s my latest look. This is a little more put together and appropriate of the time!

I actually really enjoyed just chatting to the camera for this video, so much so I had to edit alot of it out!

If you want a laugh, you can just click on my how I did my makeup in school video above, or you can click the link here and head on over to my Youtube channel. And if you are a Youtube video junkie like myself I would love if you subscribed too. I am trying to make a video a week along with my blog posts πŸ™‚

So tell me, what were your go to products back in the day?
