theBalm Bonnie-Lou Manizer

Let me introduce you to theBalm Bonnie-Lou Manizer and the new Foiled Again Foil Eyeshadow Palette.

theBalm Bonnie-Lou Manizer

I literally got my greedy makeup loving mitts on these only last night! In fact they were only released into public hands here in Ireland yesterday. And the awesome news is, we are the first to have them. They are officially available in store exclusively from Debenhams today the 27th of October. So if you like what you see, go go go πŸ™‚

the balm Foiled Again Eyeshadow PaletteΒ I wanted to show the theBalm Bonnie-Lou Manizer. (Incarcerated sister of Mary-Lou which I adore and did a blogpost on yonks ago here.) And the new Foiled Again Foil Eyeshadow Palette up close and swatched so I can hopefully help with your retail decisions.

We will have a look at Bonnie-Lou first.

thebalm highlight

She’s more warm and golden than Mary-Lou. You can see Mary on the left here. But she is not as dark as Betty.

As with all theBalm highlighters she is super pigmented, buttery and easy to apply to the skin. It would actually make a very pretty eyeshadow too.

Her recommended retail price is €22.50.

Next up we have the Foiled Again Foil Eyeshadow Palette.

thebalm eyeshadow palette

This contains 12 shades. Eight foiled and then four matte, which I actually really appreciate. It means you can do a full look with one palette. I love all shimmer palettes, don’t get me wrong. But, it’s always nice to have a few mattes within too for crease work or to just use on their own aswell.

There’s a good mix of warm and cooler tones within the foiled eyeshadows and the mattes too!

The eyeshadows are talc free, super soft and extremely pigmented. I think I am going to have fun playing with this one.

I swatched them in their rows of four, from left to right:

Barry M Liquid Chrome Highlighters

When I saw the Barry M Liquid Chrome Highlighters being advertised on their social media pages, I got very excited.

Barry M Liquid Chrome Highlighters

I have been wanting to try a full on metal liquid highlighter for ages now. Ever since I swatched the Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops when they were first released here in Space NK. At the time, they were all sold out, so I couldn’t even splurge on one. We can get a hold of them now but at around 35 quid, they are pretty pricey.

Barry M Liquid Chrome Highlighters

So I’ve been biding my time waiting to try the Barry M Liquid Chrome Highlighters. They were initially just available through the Barry M website. I didn’t splurge there because it’s nearly a tenner just to ship them to Ireland. Now, finally they’re available on the Superdrug website. You can get them in store throughout the UK I believe, but not here, yet anyway. Superdrug do free shipping to Ireland over a tener, which is bloody fantastic!

I picked up two of the five shades available. I chose the ones that I actually thought I would use day to day.

Precious Pearl, which is a more white based liquid. more suited to pale gals like myself. In powder form this would remind me of the Shimmering Skin Perfector in Pearl by Becca Cosmetics. (Review here).

So white based like Pearl, but this has a pink iridescent shimmer to it.

The formula is really light weight and as you would expect from a liquid highlighter, quite runny. They leave a shimmery shine to the skin. Not full on glittery, but there is shimmery flecks running through them. For me, application is best with a duo fiber brush or beauty blender. They do leave a bit of an oily residue on the skin. It dies down somewhat as it sinks in though.

Overall, I think the Barry M offering for the price and accessibility is really good. I don’t think they pack as much punch as their more expensive predecessors. But as a ‘drugstore’ alternative, they’re really nice.

You can get the Barry M Liquid Chrome Highlighters now on the Superdrug website here. They are Β£6.99.

mac cosmetics ireland

Yet another post about Mac Cosmetics. I am having a bit of an obsession at the moment it seems.

My last post here was on my most reached for Mac eyeshadows. This one will be chatting about my current favourite lip combo from the brand.

mac cosmetics

Mac Cosmetics do a damn good lipstick. No one can deny that. I have always been a fan and have always had a few in my collection. They do a mean lip liner too and the more I have gotten into lip lining. (Yes, I am late on that bandwagon πŸ™‚ ). The more I have added to my stash.

My current favourite lip combination just happens to be two products from the same brand, so I thought it justified a post.

irish beauty blog

Whirl lip liner isn’t new to me. I’ve owned it for a while now. mac cosmetics whirl

It’s the perfect mid tone brown shade. I use it alone and under similar lipstick shades. I also use it under not so similar lipstick shades. For me, It’s great for adding a bit of dimension or shade under lighter tones aswell.

This will set you back €17.50 here.

I have been loving pairing it with one of my newest Mac Cosmetics finds. This is definitely not a new lipstick. I hear people talk about it all the time, so I needed it in my life.mac cosmetics syrup

It’s a lustre finish lippie. This means it’s more shiny in finish. Doesn’t last as long on the lips as a matte finish, but it does leave behind a bit of a stain.

I am a mauve lipstick WHORE so this shade is just my jam. It is the perfect everyday mauve shade with a hint of pink. I wear it in it’s raw state too πŸ™‚

Wearing it over Whirl just darkens it every so slightly and also makes it last a bit longer also. I can even out my lip line with Whirl too before adding Syrup over top for a more defined look. Using it on it’s own is a little softer.

You can find Mac lipsticks on the Arnotts website here.

Of course there is no need to use both, this is just my current lip combo fave and I wanted to share it with you πŸ™‚ Have you a favourite Mac Cosmetics lipstick?

Too Faced Melted Latex

Too Faced are just constantly bringing out new products. I only road tested some of their new releases here not too long ago. There is lots more coming from the brand in the near future too. I have here one of their latest releases, the Too Faced Melted Latex Liquified High Shine Lipsticks. Try saying that with a few jars on you πŸ™‚

Too Faced Melted Latex

There are 16 shades within the Too Faced Melted Latex range. I have five of the more wearable colours to show you here. That was my doing completely. Some of the colours are super fun, but they would have been completely wasted on me.

Too Faced Melted Latex

These are completely new to me, so this definitely isn’t a review. It’s more of just a try on of the colours in blog post form, so you can see them too πŸ™‚ Of course, from the name Too Faced Melted Latex, we know these are going to be super shiny!

First impressions of the Too Faced Melted Latex lippes are, the colours are super opaque and…shock horror, super shiny πŸ™‚ They are quite thick and sticky in consistency and if you have any dry patches or wet residue on the lips, they don’t apply greatly over it. Make sure to prep your lips before application. I really like the applicator and the range of colours is great too! They smell fruity, but the scent isn’t majorly over powering. If you are looking for a high shine, full on colour liquid lipstick, these could definitely be for you.

You can find the new Too Faced Melted Latex Liquid Lipsticks online now here from Debenhams. They cost €23 each.

******PR SAMPLE******

I picked up the PS Pure Glow Highlighter Powder Palette after seeing my lovely and very talented YouTubing friend Eimear McElheron rocking it at a beauty event. Honestly, her makeup videos are awesome, you should totally check her out here πŸ™‚

PS Pure Glow Highlighter Powder Palette

Her highlight was blinding and I was extremely intrigued to know what she had used. She was lovely enough to let me in on the budget friendly secret!

PS Pure Glow Highlighter Powder Palette

It was this €6 PS Pure Glow Highlighter Palette from Penneys! Now, I am very aware that Penneys beauty products can be very hit and miss! I actually bought another highlighting palette first thinking it was this one and it was so crap, it went in the bin. There is definitely some hidden gems within the brands though. I actually have a post on the PS lip liners here, that I really like and they only cost €1.50 each. Not bad at all.

PS Pure Glow Highlighter Powder Palette

This highlighter palette comes with four shades in a pretty decent cardboard magnetic palette. From left to right we have:

‘Desert’, which is an icy shimmer.

‘Glimmer’, which is a soft, light golden shimmer.

‘Eden’. This to me is more of a shimmery rosy blush shade.

And then finally ‘Firefly’ which is a deeper, more bronzed golden shade.

All of the powder are pretty bloody good for the price. They are reasonably soft to the touch and apply really well with a brush, as well as with your fingers. If you are more of a subtle highlight fan, this palette might not be your jam, as the shades are super shiny. If you apply them with a damp brush, they pack even more of a punch. They last really well on my oily skin too.

I think you get the best look at highlight when it’s actually on your mug, so here is ‘Desert’ and ‘Glimmer’ mixed together on my non existent cheekbones πŸ™‚

irish beauty websitetop irish beauty websitebeauty blog

Each pan is 7 grams of product. I myself, have been gravitating more towards the top two ‘Glimmer’ and ‘Eden’. They seem to work best for my skin tone. All of the shades will be pretty useful in different capacities though and they make really pretty eyeshadows as well.

Overall, the Penneys PS Pure Glow Highlighter Powder Palette gets a thumbs up from me! I am super impressed with it. Have you tried it? I’d love to know what you think.

I jumped in at the deep end with the new Benefit The Porefessional Pore Minimizing Makeup.

beauty blogger irelandThis very cute package arrived the other day from Benefit with all four products from the range.

Benefit The Porefessional Pore Minimizing Makeup

I thought I would do a complete first impressions video using everything including the new Benefit The Porefessional Pore Minimizing Makeup.

Benefit The Porefessional Pore Minimizing Makeup

I’ve used the Benefit The Porefessional Primer many times before over the years and do really like it. So, my first impressions are of the other three products that are newer in the range. The Matte Rescue, Agent Zero Shine and the Pore Minimizing Makeup that was the whole point of the press release πŸ™‚

beauty blog ireland

Obviously you don’t have to buy all four products, they are pretty pricey! But if you do, I go through and use all four step by step. And also, I don’t read the instructions on the makeup and do a really bad blogger job of showing it in action πŸ™‚ I think I make a pretty decent comeback in the end though so don’t judge me on that, k?

Here’s a before and after of the first three products minus powder and obviously eyes and brows done aswell.

Then here is my skin with all four products applied with the added makeup accoutrements πŸ™‚

If you click on the video either above or directly on my YouTube channel here, you can see them all in action one by one, my first impressions and how my makeup fared throughout the day. I do a check in after wearing them for about six hours.

The whole Benefit The Porefessional range is available from Benefit retailers nationwide with the Pore Minimizing Makeup coming this month. You can have a closer look at the products on the Boots website here. Anything take your fancy?
