I’m a going through a bit of a budget beauty phase at the minute. Here is another one to throw into the mix. I created this really simple, but I think effective, gold glitter eyeshadow look using all Penneys/Primark products.

Now I did cheat ever so slightly, just because I didn’t have everything I needed, like eyeshadow primer for example from Penneys. But all the products after that are Penneys own brand, PS Beauty, or products that are readily available in store. I’m talking like I used a bucket of products, I didn’t. You’ll see in the video πŸ™‚ I have reviews already of the powder eyeshadows from Penneys here and the glitter and cream shadows here and here. That’s all the main bases covered I think in this gold glitter eyeshadow look.

There is chat about my eyebrows too in this video, which I’ve recently gotten micro bladed. I have put all my brow updated into highlights on my Instagram, just so I can refer to it if there’s any questions. I go through the process and the pricing and all that good stuff over there.

The gold glitter eyeshadow look itself I think is reasonably easy and I didn’t go in too heavy. I wanted it to be wearable, but still a bit sparkly.

The star of the show is the €1 Penneys eyeshadow called Gold Digger.

I’ve also come to the realisation in the past few weeks, that doing your eyeshadow before your base is brilliant. You can clean up any fall out and correct your work and you base won’t have glitter eyeshadow in it πŸ™‚

I am super happy with how this turned out, the spot under my eye is really annoying, but I have to get over that πŸ™‚

I kept the skin super simple, and added a matte pinky nude lip and a good splodge of highlighter to finish things off. Let me know what you think. Do you rate any of the Penneys makeup?

PS Liquid Metal EyeshadowThe post I did for the Liquid Glitter Eyeshadows from Penneys aka Primark went down really well here on Beautynook. I came across the new new PS Liquid Metal Eyeshadow version a while ago, and thought they would be worthy of a post too. You makeup lovers love your bargain finds, as do I πŸ™‚PS Liquid Metal Eyeshadow

Now don’t worry, I know these are a blatant rip off of the Stila offering. Unfortunately this is the norm in the beauty industry. But having said that, a shimmery liquid eyeshadow is a liquid shimmery liquid eyeshadow. And there has been plenty of them over the years.Penneys makeup

Like the glitter version, there is four colours of the PS Liquid Metal Eyeshadow to choose from. They’re pretty similar colours too, there’s just no chunky glitter in them. They are in a 4.5ml plastic tubes with a doe foot applicator. And they will set you back €4 a piece. The name of them is pretty self explanatory. They are a shimmery/metal liquid eyeshadow.irish beauty blog

The colour choices are not revolutionary, but they are all super wearable. Like the Liquid Glitter Eyeshadows, in my humble opinion, the darker colour choices seem to be a bit more opaque from the get go. I always bring it back to the price point for things like these though. For €4, I think they’re worth it and they work well enough.

The four colours available are:

Frosted, which is a light frosted cool toned pink.

Sub-zero, A frosted taupe.

Here’s a couple in action on the eyes for you to get an idea.

The wear time on the PS Liquid Metal Eyeshadows, for me, is grand. If you don’t suffer from any oiliness on your lids, I think you’ll be safe enough using them on their own. They do take some time to dry down though. And the more you apply, the more blotchy they can become and the more you can feel them on your lids. So be careful if you’re looking for more opaqueness from them. I’ve had some flaking after applying a thicker layer of them too. In simpler terms, be prepared to work for your shimmer πŸ™‚ I think I am going to enjoy them as cream bases for powder eyeshadow and for inner corner highlighting.

Have you tried any of the shades yet?

I’m always amazed at the difference when I see my before and after makeup shots. It’s not that I hate myself without makeup, I’ve somewhat come to terms with my lot. It will just never not be cool, the things you can achieve with makeup πŸ™‚ I was going out for my brother’s birthday on Saturday. (If you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen). I turned the camera on and created this easy as always, gold smokey eye look.

I’ll try to list the most important products I used for this. Usually I take a photograph of them all for reference. But I was just kind of in the moment for this, so I didn’t take it too seriously, hope you don’t mind.

I spent the entirety of the video listening to my time capsule on Spotify. It’s mainly 90’s and 00’s hip hop and R n’ B That’s why there’s music over most of it πŸ™‚ All I knew is, I wanted to create a gold smokey eye with a bit of glitter. I think I achieved that.

I used all Makeup Geek eyeshadows. They were just what I gravitated towards on the day. Tikki Hut and Gold Digger were the main components and I used the Penney PS Glitter Eyeshadow over top.

Revolution Conceal & Define foundation with Tarte Shape Tape were the more full coverage liquid base of choice.

Blush was theBalm Balm Beach with the Pixi Glow-y GlossamarΒ Duo in Subtle Sunrise. Two of my very faves. Lips are Mac Soar Lip Liner with Syrup lippie over top.

My brows never really go to plan when I film. I think it’s because day to day I stand at the mirror doing my makeup. When I film I sit down πŸ™‚ But sure they were grand, just nothing to write home about.

And that is pretty much it for my gold smokey eye look and an obnoxious amount of pictures of myself ha. Click the video above or here to see the whole thing in action. And let me know what you think.

It’s been a while since I sat down and did one of these videos. I think this was the last one! My eyebrows have come a loooonggggg way since then πŸ™‚ This time I asked on Instagram if any of you had any questions. Thank god you did! So if you want to get to know me a little better, click on the video above.

Would ya look at me posing, pretending I’m reading the lovely questions. I definitely am not, I was just trying to get a thumbnail. Also something you might not know about SEO, it loves pictures, so here’s another one πŸ™‚

I don’t give my whole life away online. I don’t think there’s any real need and also, I’m not a hugely interesting person. But I think it’s important to get to know me a little. Instastories is where you see a lot of it, but it’s nice to shake it up every now and again.

I was really digging this super easy makeup look too, so I wanted to show that off a bit as well. And for anyone wondering, cause I would be too! My awesome Ms Piggy jumper is from Zara. I got it while we were in Spain, but I know it was here in store too for a minute. Obsessed is not the word, although it isn’t the best quality.

In this get to know me q&a. I speak about blogging, kids, beauty and a few things in between. So grab a cuppa and a biscuit and have a click. I’d love to know what you think too. Do you really care about the people you follow online? Or do you just want to hear about makeup and that’s it?

Please do let me know. And as always, thanks for stopping by. I really appreciate it.

PS Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow

Hand on heart, these new PS Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow from Penneys aka Primark have been one of the most asked about beauty products by you lot on social media. I put this picture up on my Instagram.

And excuse my French, but you all lost your shit about them and wanted to know EVERYTHING. Well here I am with all the deets on these sparkly lovelies πŸ™‚

PS Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow

The PS Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow from what I know is a fairly new launch from Penneys. I had seen a picture online of the packaging and then the hunt began. My mammy actually managed to pick one up before I did, so the darkest shade here is courtesy of her. (Thanks Kay πŸ™‚ )

There are four shades in the range, at this moment in time, that could change. And yes, let’s us address the elephant in the room. They are very much like the infamous Stila Magnificent Metals! And also very muchΒ  like the Pixi Liquid Fairy Lights Eyeshadows too! I can say that confidently as I am a makeup addict and own all three formulas to compare πŸ™‚

top irish beauty blogger

There is a couple of differences when it comes to the PS Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow. One major one is the price. These bad boys will set you back €4 for a 4.5ml tube. Another thing to note is that the packaging is a little bit more flimsy. I would normally be here to give you pros and cons and compare the high end with the cheaper alternative. But I have to say the formula overall is super similar. In theory anyways, I cannot comment on the ingredients unfortunately.top irish beauty blog

Like the Stila eyeshadows, the formula is differs depending on the colour. The lighter two in my humble opinion are more glitter toppers. Here is the gold one in action on top of gold eyeshadow.

irish beauty blogger

Whereas the two darker shades are more opaque in colour and can built up to use on their own. They do dry down pretty well. I’ve used the rose gold shade on it’s own on the lid with primer, and it lasted well.

Here are all four shades swatched on my arm without primer. From left to right we have Glitz, Iced, Rose Gold and Blackice.

I literally cannot say anything bad about the PS Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow. They do the job and they do it well for a ridiculously affordable price. I am super impressed. Have you tried any of the shades yet?

I definitely didn’t do any favourites for the month of September. I was too busy sunning myself on holiday and completely forgot. So we’ll scrap that month and just go into October favourites here on Beautynook. Hope you don’t mind πŸ™‚

top irish beauty blog beautynook

My October faves are all beauty related and 100% reflect the changing of the seasons. They are definitely skincare heavy with a touch of hair care and makeup talk thrown in for good measure.

irish beauty blog beautynook

As always, here on Beautynook, I’ll list all the products and link what I can. Just in case anything takes your fancy and you want to explore it more. I use my favourites to just have a casual chat about what I’ve been enjoying. I don’t go too deep into reviewing. Sure it’s just a bit of fun πŸ™‚

beauty blogger ireland

First up is the Alfaparf Semi Di Lino Diamond Crystalli Liquidi. That I definitely wasn’t able to pronounce in the video. I referred to it as hair oil. It is lovely though.

top beauty blogger ireland

I’ve been testing out more than just two products from the Alex Steinherr X Primark range. But these are the two that have been standing out for me and I’ve been using religiously since picking up.

top beauty blog ireland

I have been obsessed with the Ella & Jo 3 in 1 Hyaluronic Skin Mist since getting it too. The ladies behind the brand are going from strength to strength and sure jaysis, aren’t they Irish? πŸ™‚ It’s such a lovely product.

I picked up the Palmer’s Coconut Body Oil completely on a whim. I wanted something extra hydrating and it was on special. What more can a girl ask for? I’ve been thoroughly enjoying it too.

Lastly, I chat about the JCat Extreme Access Pocket Eyeshadow in Walk Of Stardom. This little €9.95 beauty caught me completely off guard and I totally need the whole collection now.
