PS KPOP CollectionThis is the new PS KPOP Collection from Penneys. It is completely Korean inspired, in case the name didn’t give that away πŸ™‚

PS KPOP Collection

Penneys say ‘The new KPOP Collection is Korean inspired. offering everything you need for a fresh faced, dewy look with the cutest accessories to add some fun to your application.’

I definitely don’t think the PS KPOP Collection will be for everyone, especially aesthetically. The packaging is very cutesy and girly everything as we would assume it be from the theme. However, keep reading, because even if you don’t like the look of some of the products, you may like how they perform.

I don’t have everything from the collection. There’s mirrors, nails, tweezers and an abundance of makeup products. I do have a good cross selection of the makeup goodies though, so I though it was worth showing in blogpost form.

I’ll try get through this quick sharp, as there is a fair few products! πŸ™‚

We have two palettes that are both cherry flavoured and have heart shaped pans.

The Sugar Rush Eyeshadow Palette that retails for €6.

All three of them are duo chrome and have a doe foot applicator.makeup blog

I stupidly took the price tag off them, because they were sealed shut, and that took off the shade names. So I don’t know what these are called, but sure I can still swatch them for you πŸ™‚

There is a Shimmer Powder, which comes with a sponge applicator and mirror. This costs €3.50.Β top irish beauty bloggertop beauty blog ireland

Second last is the Eye Candy Eyeliners which will cost you €1.50.

This one is a pastel pink shade which I am actually super intrigued to use. I think it will work really nicely in the waterline. There are other shades available of though.

Then finally,Β  we have the Pillow Talk Matte Lip Cushions.

beauty site ireland

Out of everything, I think, other than the palettes. These were the thing I was most excited to swatch. However, as you can probably see the eyeshadow palette isn’t too strong in pigment, other shades are better than others.irish beauty blog

I have three shades. They have a twist close lid and a sponge applicator. And, although the Pillow Talk Lip Cushions are pigmented, the product was hard to get out and I actually broke off two of the applicators, hence the messy swatches.irish beauty vlogger

The pink is called Cuddle. The brown is Honey Bun. The orange is Jelly Bean.

The PS KPOP Collection is available in Penneys now. You can see the last collection I spoke about here if you’re interested in checking any of their other products out. I think the Bronze Collection has a bit more to offer. Anything tickle your fancy?

disappointing makeup productsI have been in a bit of a creative rut this week. I asked on Instagram stories what kind of content you like. Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to message me and fill my head with awesome ideas. I appreciate it so much. A big shout out to my lovely friend SinΓ©ad aka The Beautiful Truth for giving me the Disappointing Makeup Products idea.disappointing makeup products

I generally talk about products I really disliked on social media. When I review products I try to be as logical as possible. I like to give the pros and the cons. I rarely dedicate a post to things I have and just generally don’t get on with. But it’s fun to change things up πŸ™‚ Now this won’t be scathing. Everything is up for interpretation and just because I dislike something doesn’t mean everyone does. This is just my opinion.

First up of my six disappointing makeup products, is the Kiko Smart Cult Eyeshadow Palette in Matte Revolution. I did a post swatching this when I first got it here.irish beauty blog

I bought this in Brussels after seen it plastered all over social media. The colours looked so cool and generally I am a big fan of Kiko.irish beauty blogger

This just doesn’t do it for me though. On first swatch some of the colours are grand, but trying to blend them on the eyes is way too much of a chore. They blend away to nothing. Yes, I can make it work if I need to, but this palette has just ended up lying in a drawer not being used. It wasn’t expensive, but still, it was definitely a waste of my money.

My second choice is controversial. So many people would declare this their holy grail. This is the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer.

beauty blog ireland

For me, this foundation is too thick. I don’t like the doe-foot applicator, and I just find it hard to blend.beauty blogger ireland

I don’t mind a thicker foundation, but I would put this in the same category as EsteΓ¨ Lauder Double Wear. Although I do say in my review it isn’t as thick, but it nearly is πŸ™‚ It’s just too much for me. At least Double Wear stands the test of time on my oily skin, this only does an ok job. I find it grand, but I haven’t reached for it much at all since buying it.

Third up, is the LA Girl Pro Primer Eyeshadow Primer.

dublin beauty blog

This just doesn’t keep my eyeshadow in check. I have relatively oily lids so I am generally a good judge of eyeshadow primer. This is in the shade Nude. I think it’s more yellow toned, so unless I am covering it completely on the lids, the tone will poke through a bit.beauty blog

It just doesn’t cut the mustard. I like that it’s in stick form, it’s easy to use and super affordable, but not for me πŸ™

The Zoeva Strobe Gel was completely bought on a whim because the jelly like texture intrigued me.top irish beauty blog

I have the shade Halo.

top irish beauty blogger

If you like a more subtle highlight, this might work for you. For me, it just looks like nothing on my skin, especially when applied with a brush. Applying it with your fingers is tricky though, as the formula just doesn’t allow itself to be picked up with your fingertips too well. I tried to incorporate it into my makeup and to make it work, but I just end up reaching for something else. It’s a cool concept, but gets a thumbs down from me.

My next two disappointing makeup products will again, be controversial.

I only have a travel size of the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. I got it within a PR pack.

irish beauty site

Waterproof mascara is more my jam, most of the time. But I do try lots of non waterproof formulas and do review the ones that meet my extremely high mascara standards πŸ™‚top irish beauty site

So many people adore this mascara. I don’t! I deem it grand. It coats the lashes, helps a little with volume and on me, flakes like a bitch. If a mascara flakes after a long ass, productive day, I can live with that. But this does it a couple of hours into wear on me. For that reason, it’s made the list πŸ™‚

Ok, my last disappointing makeup product is the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk.Β irish makeup blog

Now hear me out because this is definitely a more personal disappointment. I am just not wowed by it. The texture is a bit drying, especially for the price. It’s also super super similar to my lip colour, so it tends to look more brown on me than pink.top beauty blogtop beauty blogger

I have the lipstick too . (I have a blogpost about it here). You can see both of them swatched in that. I reach for the lipstick way more, although I am not a huge fan of the fragrance, but I can get over that. I have the lip liner literally years, and it’s still very much in tact as you can see. Give me Rimmel’s Eastend Snob liner over it any day!

Do any of my disappointing makeup choices shock you? Are some of your holy grails in here? This is what I love about makeup, one person’s trash can be another person’s treasure πŸ™‚

I am back with another Get Ready With Me video! This one is a more casual night out makeup look.

Casual Night Out MakeupI was heading to a blogger event that evening, so knew I needed to put a bit more makeup on than the average day. It wasn’t a full on lashes and glam scenario though, hence the name ‘casual night out makeup’. πŸ™‚

We were dog sitting so it was really nice to turn the camera on somewhere else and film. Also, the surroundings were much nicer than what I am accustomed too in my little house, that’s for sure πŸ™‚ Louis the schnauzer was also on hand to make a cameo at the end of the video. How cute is he though? He slept right through filming on the couch beside me.

irish beauty blog

As always, I will try list all the products I used. Of course, if I miss something and you’re curious, just ask. I love nothing more than to talk makeup with people.

It’s the beginning of a new month! That can only mean one thing in blog/vlog land. It’s monthly favourites time πŸ™‚ Here is my round up of February favourites for 2017!

My February favourites consist of all beauty related products. There is a mix of makeup and skincare. I do have an honourable random mention at the end of the video though. You can click the video above, or watch it directly on my YouTube channel here.

The Body Shop Almond Milk & Honey Range is first. You can see the range in more detail over on The Body Shop website here.

Garnier Pure 3 in 1 Wash, Scrub & Mask. You can pick this in Boots stores and online here. It costs €7.49.

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk. I have a full review and details on this here.

februaray favourites

Mac Soar Lip Liner is on the Brown Thomas website for €17.50 here. Not the cheapest lip liner in the world, I know. But I haven’t found a similar colour for less money as of yet. I will keep hunting though πŸ™‚

Spring Sheen Blush from Mac. I am definitely having a bit of Mac revisit at the moment, I know! Again, this is on the Brown Thomas website here. €24 is a bit steep, but you can buy Mac blushes in pan form too.

Then my final February favourite is the Clarins Ombre Iridescente Cream To Powder Eyeshadow in 09 Silver Rose. I cannot find a link to this particular colour in Debenhams or Boots. But it is avialble to buy online from CH Tralee chemist for €22.50 here.

And that sums up my February favourites in one blogpost, oh and a video too :). Do you have any stand out products for the month? Beauty or otherwise of course? Let me know and as always thanks for clicking and watching.

I did a What’s In My Handbag video last year when I was heading to a blogger event here. That was more of an evening appropriate bag. I thought I would do an updated one.

irish beauty vlogger

This is completely just for fun, no rhyme or reason. I love seeing what other people lug around in their handbag. My bag is technically a bag pack, I am trying something different for me. I adore handbags, but I am a little brat when it comes to carrying them. I thought a bag pack might make things a little easier. So far, so good πŸ™‚

top irish beauty blog

I don’t have a link for it unfortunately, it seems to be gone now. But Zara have lots of lovely bags in at the minute. So many in fact, that I am going to leave a link here, but I’m not going to click on it myself. I can not afford to ha!

zara handbagzara bagpack

The contents of my handbag comprises mainly of makeup. Shock horror I know! When I put something in, I rarely remember to take it out. So, the bag becomes it’s residents for the foreseeable future.

what's in my handbag

You can of course see me talk about everything in a bit more detail in the video above, or you can click here to watch it directly over on my YouTube channel.

irish beauty blog

I admire people who have their shit together and have their handbag neat and tidy. I am definitely not one of them. Things just get thrown in and I hope for the best. The bigger the bag, the bigger the mess. I like to call it organised chaos though. I know what I have in it, it just might take me a while to find it πŸ™‚

As always thanks for taking the time to watch and read. Do you like these types of ‘nonsense’ videos? I would love your feedback.

I’ve shared her all over social media, I know. I am now the proud owner of the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk lipstick.

charlotte tilbury pillow talk lipstick

I wasn’t going to write this post, just because I know it’s been spoken about alot at the moment. But I thought feck it, she’s pretty, I want to show her in action πŸ™‚

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk

I already own the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Cheat Lip Liner. John bought it for me for my birthday last year. I did a post on it here at the time, comparing it to Rimmel’s Eastend Snob. They are compared alot and obviously there’s a big price difference.

John kindly bought me the lipstick after seeing me conversing about it so much with some awesome blogger buddies. The boy did good πŸ™‚ The packaging is perfection, I adore the rose gold corrugated tube.

irish beauty blog beautynook

It is a Matte Revolution formula, which is described on the website as a ‘Luminous Modern-Matte Lipstick’.

charlotte tilbury ireland

To me, the formula has more of a satin finish. It applies really smoothly and opaquely to the lips. The colour, on me applies like a brown toned nude, with a hint of pink. You can see both Pillow Talks swatched on my arm below. The colour really is identical.

irish beauty website

Here is the lipstick applied to the lips on it’s own:

Then, the lip liner on it’s own:

And then both together:

top irish beauty blogger

beauty blog

Of course, you do not need to buy both products. If you want to keep the lipstick true to colour though and make it last longer, it is a nice addition. I find the liner a bit too drying, so I think I will be more inclined to use the lipstick. The formula is much more forgiving on the lips. I will say I am not a huge fan of the scent. To me, it smells like a mixture of caramel and flowers. It does dull down after a while though.

At the moment the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk lipstick is exclusive to the website. This means you have to get it shipped from the UK, which adds to the price. You can shop for it here and the lipstick alone costs €32. It is definitely a luxury purchase.

Would you splurge?
