The Urban Decay Full Spectrum is not a necessity is your makeup bag. To be fair makeup isn’t a necessity in our lives, that doesn’t stop us from wanting using and enjoying it though 🙂

If I am being completely honest with myself (and you), most of the colours in this palette will not make it on my face day to day. Or perhaps even, never. I am not a professional makeup artist so I cannot even justify it by saying I might use them on other people. I enjoy buying and sourcing makeup, the buzz and the aftermath. So, that is my justification for buying the crazy colourful Urban Decay Full Spectrum Palette 🙂 Oh and I did get it in Siopaella, AND it was half price!! You have to be quick buying makeup in there though. There’s usually only one (or sometimes two) of something.

Ok, enough beauty babble out of me. We’re here to look at the Urban Decay Full Spectrum up close. Urban Decay say it is a step up from their Spectrum Palette which was launched last year. This is the 2016 version of that limited edition colour explosion. You get 21 shades in total, each 1.2 grams. This is most eyeshadows in any Urban Decay Palette to date.

urban decay full spectrum palette

They are organised by colour family. So if you look at the colours in trios going down, you can see that they go from light to dark within the same colour….spectrum 🙂

The packaging is really lovely and is sleek to the touch, with a large very usable mirror within the lid.

You also get a dual ended brush, which has seemed to become the norm with Urban Decay Palettes.

The eyeshadows vary from more sparkly, shimmery and then shadows that look shimmery in the palette, but swatch matte. There is also a matte white thrown in for good measure. I actually like this addition because you can layer the bright colours over top (in theory) to make them more vibrant on the eyes. It contains 18 new shades with 3 what Urban Decay call exclusives from past palettes.

I have them swatched in sevens across, from left to right.

On the top line we have: Alchemy, Warning, Midnight Blaze, Hundred, Minx, Delirious, Platonic.

The second line contains: Gossip, Seize (apologies there’s a glare on the name), Calavera, Hatter, Blindsided, Sketch, Iced.

Then on the final row, we have: Paranoia, Jones (again with the glare, apologies), Goldmine, Mean, Metamorphosis, Faded and the matte white, Bump.

Some of the eyeshadows definitely have more colour pay off than others. You would even just notice that from the touch. There is some really lovely wearable colours within the rainbow. But overall, I think this is a palette for people who are makeup fiends, colour fiends or collectors ( I put myself in that category 🙂 ).

The Urban Decay Full Spectrum Palette is available in Debenhams in store now or online here and will set you back €49. Would you dare?

The L’Orèal Color Riche Gold Obsession Lipsticks were something I was very excited to have come through my door.

Loreal color riche gold obsession lipstick

I am in love with the packaging first off. It is matte black with a gold gradient at the base of the tube. Very swish 🙂

There are five colours in the L’Orèal Color Riche Gold Obsession range. L’Orèal say: ‘As well as its intense colour pigment, each Color Riche lipstick shade is enriched with a combination of Omega-3 oils and Vitamin E which helps to protect your lips from drying. In 5 iconic shades to suit every skin tone; Nude Gold, Rose Gold, Rouge Gold, Plum Gold, as well as a statement Pure Gold shade.’ The gold shade can be used on it’s own or as a topper for other lipsticks.

I have three of the five to show.

First up we have ‘Nude Gold’. A brown nude colour.

The second one is ‘Pink Gold’. A light pink shade.

And the last one I have in my possession is my personal favourite out of the three. ‘Plum Gold’. A deep, purple toned plum.

All three lipsticks are laced with a somewhat subtle gold sparkle. This is meant to give the lips a more metallic look, which is very on trend at the moment. The lipstick doesn’t feel gritty at all though. The formula is rich and creamy and gives a glossy, but not sticky finish to the lips. It has a balmy feel. As it is more glossy, you won’t have much colour left behind after eating or drinking. The scent reminds me of my cabbage patch doll from back in the day, (which I am perfectly ok with 🙂 ). It is sweet, but not too sickly in my humble opinion. I actually wore ‘Plum Gold’ in a recent video of mine here if you want to check it out in actual action 🙂

I don’t think the L’Orèal Color Riche Gold Obsession Lipsticks would be necessarily for everyone. The colour range is pretty limited and they do have a sparkly finish.

For me, ‘Plum Gold’ is a definite winner. I think out of the three colours I have, that is the one I will actually pick up and wear. I really like the colour as well as the finish. The other two shades just don’t suit my complexion.

You can get the L’Oréal Color Riche Gold Obsession Lipsticks now in store or online here from Boots. They are priced at €9.99. However, Feel Unique have them online here too and they are charging €8.95, just an FYI 🙂

So what do you think? Would you rock any of the shades?

There have been so many new makeup releases over the last few weeks. It is so hard to keep up, even for me 🙂 The Inglot What A Spice Collection was one that really caught my eye though.

I’m lucky enough to live not too far away from their South Anne Street Branch, so I toddled in this past Sunday to have a look up close. The Inglot What A Spice Collection consists of ten lipsticks:

Five complimenting lip liners:

The main event for me in the collection though is the Freedom eyeshadows:

Inglot what a spice

There are ten eyeshadow shades in total. All matte. Inglot know how to make an eyeshadow, I think we can all agree on that. I am a big fan of their formula. The shades in the What A Spice Collection are literally Autumn in eyeshadow form 🙂

I ended up picking up four shadows from the collection.

irish beauty blog

Well I would have picked up more but that’s all my budget would allow me, and my conscience, I’ve been a bit spendy lately 🙂

I tried to go for the shades that looked a bit different to what I have already.

The first one is 305 which to me, is a warm chocolate brown shade.

My second choice was 304. This is a more cooler toned dark brown shade.

Number three is 299. This is a matte red toned brown.

Then, my last purchase was number 303. This is a warm toned mid brown with a pink base. I have nothing like this shade in my collection so I’m particularly excited to play around with this colour 🙂

Here’s all four of them side by side so you can see the differences.

You can purchase the entire Inglot What A Spice Collection in store or online from their website here now. The lipsticks are €15 as are the lipliners. The eyeshadows are €6 each. I know there is nail polishs and lip tints as part of the collection elsewhere, but we don’t seem to have them here in Ireland, so I didn’t include them.

Anything from the collection take your fancy?

I didn’t need it but, I got it anyway. Here is the new Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics eyeshadow palette 🙂

urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette

This beauty has been on every beauty lovers lust list since it was sneak peaked by Urban Decay earlier in the year.

urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette

The Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics eyeshadow palette. It is a bit of a tongue twister of a name, right? I understand the concept of keeping it in the ‘Naked’ family though, it has done pretty well for them. And, there is an abundance of basic shades to be seen so that makes sense too.

The palette itself is super pretty. It has a champagne gold colour plastic case with an embossed logo on the front.

Inside you get a really decent mirror.

And, a little dual ended ‘Blending and Smudger’ brush.

Inside the case sits 12 eyeshadows. Here they with and without the flash.

I have to be honest, before buying the Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette, I thought all 12 were matte. The slogan is ‘All Matte. All Naked’ However, there is one satin highlight shade within the palette.

Here are all 12 shades up close and swatched:

top irish beauty blog

One the top, from left to right, we have: Blow (the demi-matte shade), Nudie, Commando, Tempted, Instinct, Lethal.

top irish beauty blog

Then on the bottom row, from left to right, we have: Pre-Game, Extra Bitter, Faith, Lockout, Magnet, Blackjack.

These are all new neutral shades to the Urban Decay Naked family. I have yet to try them on my eyeballs, I will hopefully do that in video form soon. But, on first swatch these shadows are super soft and buttery. There is a few warmer shades in there too which is always appreciated. I know alot of makeup lovers prefer one or the other, but I love that there is a mixture of cool and warm tones within, It gives you the option.

First impressions for me are really good. I am excited to get stuck in and try all the shades properly. If you want to get your hands on the Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette. You can buy in store or online here from Debenhams. It will set you back €47.

What are your first impressions? Let me know 🙂

There’s a new highlighting palette on the block. It comes in the form of Sleek Cleopatra’s Kiss. I got gifted this at the Sleek Blogger Brunch along with some other fabulous makeup goodies!

Sleek Cleopatra's Kiss Highlighting Palette

Sleek know their way around a highlighter palette. Whether it is creams, powders or both, the beauty community have been embracing them with both arms, myself included 🙂 The newest offering the Sleek Cleopatra’s Kiss Palette does not disappoint either.

Sleek Ireland

Encased in a mirrored gold case just like the Sleek Solstice Palette which I have a post on here. Cleopatra’s Kiss comes with four shades. Two powders highlights and two creams.

Sleek Makeup IrelandIrish beauty blogSleek Highlight

From left to right, we have:

‘Sphinx’, a powder. This is a bronzed gold shade.

‘Delta’ on the row beside this is a cream bronzed golden shade with really small bronze particles running through it.

‘Dynasty’ is another cream bronzer. It is a paler gold shade with golden shimmer.

Then finally, we have ‘Goddess’ which is a powder. This is a light champagne colour with some sparkle. It is probably the most subtle of all four colours.

Here’s all four swatched with the flash on and in natural light.

All four shades in the Sleek Cleopatra’s Kiss Palette compliment each other well, I think and can be layered or worn on their own.

I applied the powders to my face to give you an idea of how they look.

Here’s Goddess in action. This gives a more subtle sheen to the skin with a bit of sparkle.

Then, here is ‘Sphinx’. I applied this with a dry brush in the first picture and then dampened it with some setting spray for application in the second one.

Overall, the Sleek Cleopatra’s Kiss is a really nice highlighting palette. The lighter shades are probably more appropriate for my skin tone, but I really enjoy the formula and the colour pay off of all four. You can find it online on Dolledup.ie here and it will set you back €12.49.

I also got a Solstice Palette at the Sleek Blogger Brunch, which I already have. So, I thought I would give one of you the opportunity to win it.

I said I would make these lists every so often when affordable brands make things that really float my boat. This post is going to run through five budget brown eyeliners that I have been reaching for of late for different reason.

Budget Brown eyeliners

I am going through a bit of a brown liner phase. Black has eluded me. I will go back to it I am sure, but for now I am enjoying the less intense look that brown eyeliner gives to the eyes.

I chose five budget brown eyeliners that I have been legit reaching for daily for different reasons.

budget brown eyeliners

Number one is the Maybelline Color Show Kohl in 410.

maybelline ireland

I talk more about these here. I like using this to smoke out the lash line. It’s really soft and doesn’t really set very quickly, so you get alot of play time with it. I think a dark brown kohl liner is always handy to have in your makeup stash.

My next two budget brown eyeliner picks are both from Essence.

Their Extreme Lasting Eye Pencil in 05 ‘Rockin’ Taupe’ is a newer favourite. This is part of the Essence Autumn Winter Collection. I did a whole blog post about the collection not too long ago here.

This is more grey toned shimmery taupe colour. Again, this works well in the waterline if you want to darken things up a little more , but still want the look to remain soft. I love using it all over the lid too as an eyeshadow base. It blends really nicely but sets too. So it helps your shadows last longer and adds a little something more to the look.

The is the Essence Longlasting Eye Pencil in 19 ‘Hot Scorch’. I love these retractable liners. I talk more about them here.

This particular one is a nice warm bronze shimmery shade that lasts particularly well in the waterline. I love this when I just want to add a bit of something there without looking too ‘done’ or dark. It looks fab swept on the top or bottom lash line too. And it is super cheap!

My last two picks are of the darker brown variety.

The first one is actually from one of the trio of Shimmer Strips from Physicians Formula. I think this one is from the Warm Nudes Trio. You can buy them from Dolledup.ie here.

At €16.90 these are definitely the priciest of the bunch, but you do get three liners for that. This is like a blackened brown colour, so probably the darkest of the bunch aswell. This is such an easy kajal liner to use. The thick conical shape of it makes it super handy to get into the lash line. I wouldn’t be using this for a thin defined line. This is more of I want to do a brown smoky eye look. I would use this as a shadow base or on top to darken things up and on the waterline too.

My last pick is a gel liner that is another new edition to my makeup collection.

This is the Flormar Gel Eyeliner in ‘Bole Brown’. This comes with a brush in the lid too which isn’t half bad at all.

beauty blog ireland

flormar ireland

It’s a nice chocolatey brown that you can build up the opacity with. I find gel liners a bit scary sometimes, so I like that this can be layered and if I do mess it up (which I do…alot). I can fix it before things get too full on in the liner department 🙂 It sets and works really well in the water line too. You can get it on SimplyFoxy here or any Flormar stockists for €7.95.

Here they all are swatched in order left to right, just so you can get an idea of the difference in texture and colour.

And we’re done. Five Budget Brown Eyeliners to hopefully suit every need and taste 🙂
