As I am writing this, the sun is shining and it’s May. Which means it’s officially Spring, which means no constant rain and being miserable…just some of the time :). A new month also means a look back over the previous month. So, here is a run down of some of my April Favourites for 2018.

april favourites

How was your April? Mine wasn’t too bad all in all. I had some good times and made some good memories.

april favourites

My April Favourites consist of mostly skincare actually with a snippet of makeup, fashion and dare I say some political views as well. Definitely not something I talk about a lot. If I do it’s mostly on Twitter. I don’t shy away, don’t get me wrong, there’s just people out there doing a way better job at it than I ever could. But I think May, for me, for us as woman of Ireland is so very important. Please make sure you areย registered to vote, do your research and make an informed decision.

Ok, let’s talk about some silly stuff now ๐Ÿ™‚

My April Favourites definitely reflect the changes in the seasons, I think. As always I talk much more in depth in the video above or here. But I’ll give you a quick run down and link to everything I can.

  • Then finally my bag was a gift from my friend Ella of Siopaella. She sourced them in Morocco and sells them in store too.

And that is it for another instalment of April Favourites. Let me know if you like these types of posts, it’s always good to get constructive feedback.

I first saw the new Maybelline Tattoo Brow on the awesome Sharon Farrell’s YouTube Channel here last month.

Maybelline Tattoo Brow

She demoed it and it just really intrigued me. It’s one of those things that could be a complete gimmick or could be bloody genius!

Maybelline Tattoo Brow Tutorial

So what is the Maybelline Tattoo Brow? It’s basically a tinted gel that you apply to your brows, let it set and then peel it off. It leaves behind a tint on the skin, that means in theory you don’t have to fill in your brows for up to three days!

Now if you have awesome brows, of course this might not be your cup of tea, you lucky duck. For me, my brows are a pain in the bum! Now don’t get me wrong they are looking alot better than they have done. I was invited into Beauty Board a few weeks ago and got their Ecuri Stem Cell Treatment.ย It’s really helped with the hair growth and their looking so much more…brow like. They definitely need some grooming though, but I digress, I am here to talk about the Maybelline Tattoo Brow, soz!

The price of it really miffed me for a Maybelline product. I bought it for โ‚ฌ16.99 in Boots. It’s on the website here if you want to check it out. You get 4.6 grams of product and it here it comes in three shades. I got Medium Brown.

I thought it would be best to demo it in video form, as it’s something you have to see in action. So click on the video above or go directly to my YouTube channel here to check out it out.ย  I know people are worried about it pulling precious hairs out and all that scary stuff, so I’m willing to take the hit for for the sake of beauty lovers everywhere ๐Ÿ™‚ .

You apply it in your desired shape. Let it dry for at least 20 minutes. For the longer tint (up to three days) it says leave it for 2 hours. Then, simply peel off from inner to outer brow.

I wrote this blog post before I used it, so I guess you have to watch the video to see how I get on and if I survived. ๐Ÿ™‚ Also I was heading out afterwards so fingers crossed I don’t feck it up!

Yep, It’s June Favourites 2017 time ๐Ÿ™‚

june favourites

June is my birthday month so I always think it’s extra exciting for monthly favourites, because I usually have more stuff to ramble about.

june favouritesirish beauty blog

This year’s June favourites really consist of a mixture of everything really.

  • My first faves were something I bought out of my birthday money.

I am totally not cool enough for these babies, but sure I am going to wear the hell out of them anyways ๐Ÿ™‚ These are The Quay Australia X Desi Hi Key Black Fades. I bought them on Asos here. YouTube totally made me do it and I am completely OK with that :).

  • The really inexpensive eBay half lashes that I talk about can be found here, if you want a closer look at them. Definitely not great quality, but they do the job!
  • The band tees are a mixture from Primark and H&M. They are pretty much everywhere at the minute though. I am very much jumping on the bandwagon. It’s a comfortable wagon though so I feel no shame about it ๐Ÿ™‚
  • I speak more about the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge and link to it here.
  • Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer is swatched and linked in a blogpost here.
  • I chat about my new favourite AMC gel liner from Inglot. I did a blogpost on my latest Inglot haul here. You can see the liner swatched and where to get it over there.
  • And then, my final pick for my June Favourites was The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution. This has such a long scary name, I know! You can read more about it on the Deciem website here.

I obviously ramble a lot more about these in the video here. I just like to do a blog post to accompany it with links, and to add in anything I may have forgotten.

Let me know what you think and if you have any June favourites yourself.

Thanks for clicking.

I did it! I couldn’t resist ordering a peeling blackhead mask!

asian skincare

I’ve seen so much talk about these online over the last while. Every time I scroll through Facebook or Instagram, someone is peeling one off their faces. Now I am very aware that they may not be good for your skin, or they may damage it. But, I thought I would take one for the team and give it a bash. I’m nice like that ๐Ÿ™‚ And let’s be honest, I am a nosey sod and really just wanted to see if it actually did anything by trying it myself.

The peeling blackhead mask I ended up getting was just the cheapest one that popped up when I typed it into eBay. I’ll leave you the link here, so you can see what the seller says about it. Do not take this as enabling, I do not want to be responsible for anything bad happening your skin!!

Obviously, I talk about it more in the video above (or you can click directly to YouTube here to watch), so I won’t bore you with details. But actually, there isn’t many. It doesn’t come with instructions or anything so I pretty much just winged the process.

The video mostly consists of peeling the blackhead mask off, so if you’re squimish, beware!

I managed to get it off in one piece. This is the mask after I pulled it off my skin:

John reckons it looks like something out of 50 Shades of Grey, I reckon it just looks gross ๐Ÿ™‚

On a side note after taking the mask off a few hours ago, my skin feels pretty good. I didn’t have any irritation from it personally. I am not really one to have allergic reactions very often. That is definitely something to keep in mind.

I quite enjoyed making this video, so be sure to let me know what you think? And tell me, would you try it?

Thank you, as always.
