BPerfect Sub Zero Highlight CollectionSo this is definitely more of a show and tell than a review, just as a disclosure. I received the new BPerfect Sub Zero Highlight Collection in collaboration with MMMMitchell last week in PR and I wanted to show it off a bit 🙂

I have the other BPerfect collaboration palettes in my possession too, but I feel like I got my hands on them too late to dedicate a full post.  You can check out the Carnival Palette here in action though if you’re curious.top irish beauty blog

Right, I have to completely come clean. Although I love Instagram and watch a lot of YouTube in my spare time, MMMMitchell was not on my radar. I’m more of an Instagram granny I think, and my makeup style is more wearable and everyday. He is the typical Instagram makeup king!beauty blog irelandbeauty blogger ireland

And he is known for his glow hence this BPerfect Sub Zero Highlight Collection collaboration.

This is a seven shade highlighting palette. With six pressed powder highlighters and one that they call a ‘topper’ that you’re meant to be able to use over all six shades to help them pop.top beauty blog ireland

From left to right we have:

  • MMMM A Pearly white shimmer.
  • Made It  A Champagne shimmer.
  • Lifestyle  A  Golden shimmer.
  • OTT  A Bronzed gold topper.
  • In Blankets A  Soft beige shimmer.
  • Baebly A Rose gold shimmer.
  • Bodi-Odi-Odi  A Bronze shimmer.

Like their other two collaborative palettes the BPerfect Sub Zero Highlight Collection is super pigmented and the powder are soft and easy to blend. Ok, there’s my mini review 🙂top irish beauty bloggerBPerfect Sub Zero Highlight Collection

Are all shades going to work for everybody? I don’t really think so, but that’s what you get with a highlighting palette. However I will say, the shades that might not work as highlighter for your skin tone will make for lovely eyeshadows. That’s how I’ve been trying out the darker shades. On me, I feel like the shade ‘Baebly’ works best as a highlighter with ‘Made It’ a close second.

The BPerfect Sub Zero Highlight Collection Palette is available from stockists now and retails for €37. Have you tried it yet? Do you have your eye on it? Let me know.

Mac CosmeticsI wasn’t going to do this just because I haven’t really played with them enough. But, a few of you asked to see swatches of my new lovely Mac Shiny Pretty Things Party Favours. I have the gold ones. There is also a pink version to choose from in Brown Thomas.

MAC Shiny Pretty Things Party Favours - Gold

My lovely mate Cherry Sue and I were in BT perusing the Mac Christmas ranges. She decided to treat herself to the gold Mac Shiny Pretty Things Party Favours. But, she also very kindly picked me one up too. For no reason other than she’s sound. And yes, I cried, so thanks Sue 🙂Mac Cosmetics Ireland

Mac know how to do Christmas. And this year is no different. Yes, I said the C word. Halloween is over, it’s officially the festive season. Get your garlands out 🙂irish beauty blog

A full sized Mac pigment and glitter is €22 and I feel like although they’re awesome, you’ll never get through an entire pot in a lifetime. Unless you are hardcore or a makeup artist. So I love that they’re doing minis now. The minis on their own are €12. The Mac Shiny Pretty Things Party Favours in gold and pink are €30, so you make a decent saving. There are four pots per pack. Try saying that really fast.MAC Shiny Pretty Things Party Favours - Gold

You get two pigments and two glitters within the pack. I ripped mine open quick smart when I got it, so I just have a stock photo here for reference.Mac Cosmetics Pigment

From left to right we have: English Gilt (pigment), Gold (glitter), Copper (glitter), Shiny Time (pigment).

I applied the pigments dry with a flat brush. I did used some setting spray with the glitters, just to adhere them to the skin.

I will 100% be showing you these in action on my eyeballs over on Instagram over the coming weeks, so pop over there if you want to see that. Are you going to pick anything up from the Christmas range? I think there’s a lot of great beauty lover present ideas within it for sure.

affordable red lip look

I wanted to do an affordable red lip look, but with a really simple premise. I think usually,  especially this time of year. The normality is to go for a cat eye, gold or smoky eye with a bold lip.

Affordable red lip look

My vision for the affordable red lip look was a really simple olive toned eye with a matte red lip. I didn’t use any liner, just lashings of mascara. I wanted the lip to be the focal point, but also have the shadow play an interesting role too 🙂 Most of the time when I do my makeup, even for Beautynook, I just wing it! Not literally, of course 😉 But then sometimes, my imagination is so specific in what it wants. This was one of those times.

I ended up even leaving my hair up and messy. That literally never happens either! You can of course see me waffle about it in video form above, or directly over on YouTube here.

All of the products I used are affordable of course, and they’re all items I really enjoy too. I had applied my base and brows before turning on the camera, but they happened to be all budget friendly products as well.irish beauty blog

So, the main products I used to create my really simple affordable red lip look were:

Initially the Sleek Au Natural Palette. Although I did switch it up, it didn’t quite work for what I was going for.beauty blogger ireland

Inglot single eyeshadows in 305 and 419. You can buy them in store or online here.beauty blog irelandMax Factor Creme Bronzer. Review here.

Nyx High Definition blush in Amber. You can buy online here.

Wet n Wild Highlighter in Under The Midnight Sea. You can see more info on this here.irish beauty blogger

Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in Red Diva. You can buy online here.

Bourjois Rouge Velvet Lipstick in 08 Rubi’s Cute. More info on this here.

And there you have it! I really like this look. It’s super simple and gives me low key grunge vibes. Let me know what you think 🙂

Surely you know Gemma that good glow can come for way less than a tenner? Yes, yes I do, but I want to talk about all day glow. Highlight that sticks around blinding everyone all damn day long 🙂

top irish beauty bloggerI know for me, all day glow means layering product. I won’t get it by just applying liquid or cream highlighter. And I won’t get it from just powder. Applying them together though, gives me a way better chance of keeping hold of it from day to night.budget makeup

This is the time of year where we all tend to have a lot more on. It’s also the time of year where your hard earned money is going on lovely things for the good people in your life. So I’m here to show you that you don’t have to sacrifice your party shine as a result. I have two products here that you can layer up, or just wear on their own to jazz up a makeup look.

First up we have the PS Custom Glow Liquid Highlighter.

top beauty blogger irelandThis is in the shade Pearl Blossom. On it’s own it gives a pretty muted pink shine to the skin. I will say the packaging isn’t the best. The pipette doesn’t tend to work, so I just take the product from the build up on the applicator.

These come in three colours I believe and set you back €5 for 9mls of product.

To allow us to ‘glow all day’, I would tend to add a powder highlighter over the drops. To lock the shine in place and even make it more glowy. You can always top up powder too if you need to retouch your makeup. Liquid isn’t so easy. If you want a similar shade for a similar price point, this is the Mink Pink Highlighter again from Penneys.

This is actually a really pretty powder highlighter in it’s own right. top beauty blog irelandAgain, I believe these come in three colour ways too. You get 7.7 grams of product for €3.50. So together, for both products, you are paying €8.50.

Sandwiched together products tend to have a better chance of standing the test of time in my humble oily skinned opinion 🙂

I know I’ve been bigging up Penneys/Primark beauty of late. That’s simply because they’re upping their game and I’ve been enjoying alot of it. My last couple of posts on their makeup brushes and single eyeshadow pans are here and here too.

Have you tried either of my glow all day suggestions?

Let me know 🙂

The Cocoa Brown Ice Goddess Shimmering Dry Body Oil is the third installment in the shimmering body oil family.

Cocoa Brown Ice Goddess Shimmering Dry Body Oil

The other two offerings which I am sure you are familiar with are Golden Goddess shimmering loveliness. There’s a yellow gold one and a rose gold one to choose from. This is the first one with a more icy glow 🙂

Cocoa Brown Ice Goddess Shimmering Dry Body OilCocoa Brown Tan

The Cocoa Brown Ice Goddess comes in a trio with the other two. It will hopefully be available in it’s own right this year.

I was lucky enough to receive this from Cocoa Brown as a little festive treat so mine is personalised, which makes it even more special.

Cocoa Brown

It comes in a 30 ml glass bottle and has the same distinctive Tahitian Gardenia fragrance that all of the Cocoa Brown products have.

irish beauty blog

The Ice Goddess has become my personal favourite out of the three oil choices. It has more of a pearl toned shimmer to it so is more flattering on my paler pink toned skin tone. I need a decent tan to rock the other two.

You just give it a shake to mix the shimmer and oil together and then apply it wherever you want some extra glow. You can even use it on your cheekbones as highlighter. The shimmer also disguises mild imperfections and makes the skin feel nice and hydrated.

As it’s a dry oil it doesn’t feel sticky once it dries down on the skin. And you can choose the amount of glow you get by how much you use and how much you work it into the skin.

The Cocoa Brown Ice Goddess Shimmering Dry Body Oil is available from Penneys around the country as well as selected pharmacies. You can also pick up the collection online from Cloud10beauty here for €14.95. The collection includes 30ml bottles of all three of the oils.

Have you tried any of them? What’s your favourite?

It’s Christmas, time to pull out the glitter and throw all the makeup on your face 🙂 Here is my version of a party makeup look using all affordable products. Even most of the tools are affordable too.

Irish beauty blogger beautynook

I went simple with a gold and brown eye with some gold glitter and lashes. I wanted to create a party makeup that I would actually wear myself. As I say in the video though, 2017 will hopefully be the year, I get out of my comfort zone a bit video wise and be a little braver with my makeup.
