This is my interpretation of an Autumn Makeup Look.

irish beauty blog

Of course makeup has no rules and you can wear what you want. But, we do (well I think we do), tune in to certain trends for the different seasons. For me, when I think of an Autumn Makeup Look I think of golds and bronze shades on the eyes and dark lips.

In this video I used some old favourites. Yes, I dusted off the original Urban Decay Naked Palette for this look. I forgot just how much I loved this! The shade ‘Half-Baked’ is probably my favourite gold eyeshadow ever. It is just so flattering on the eyes.

I also dipped into a couple of newbie products from Sleek Makeup. The Cleopatra’s Kiss Highlighter Palette which I only spoke about here recently. And one of their Matte Me liquid lipstick in ‘Velvet Slipper’. It is out of stock at the moment, eeek, apologies for that! I wouldn’t have used it if I had known!

I mention all the products I use in the video, which as always you can click on above. Or, you can watch it directly over on my Youtube channel here. If you have any questions about anything, you can of course just ask me though ๐Ÿ™‚

I always like to stress to that I am not a makeup artist, just someone who loves makeup…alot ๐Ÿ™‚

Autumn Makeup Look

Let me know what you think of my super simple Autumn Makeup Look. And let me know the makeup looks or products that make you think of Autumn. Dark lips are the only thing I like about the weather getting colder, I swear. The sun hasn’t even completely gone yet and I am already mourning it ๐Ÿ™‚

As always, thanks for taking the time to watch, read and interact. I really really appreciate it.

The day I filmed this video I was heading to the Irish Beauty Blog Awards where I was casually up for an award…no biggie like ๐Ÿ™‚ Unfortunately I came home empty handed, but we had a good night regardless ๐Ÿ™‚

I love handbags, but I am a lazy git and don’t always carry one. However, for a night out a bag is a completely necessary addition to my outfit. Us girls bring an arsenal of ‘just in case’ items in our handbags. We just make it a little smaller when we hit the town so we don’t have to lug around the big everyday bag. I think this makes what we bring that more important and it’s stuff we actually use and love ๐Ÿ™‚

what's in my handbag

So tonight Matthew I bring you ‘What’s in My Handbag’ the night out edition. Just a bit of fun. I love having a nosey into other people’s handbags so I though it was fitting that I let you have a nose into mine. Click on the video about to watch me waffle up a storm and then I’ll have everything I talk about listed below and anything that I can link linked ๐Ÿ™‚

So…what’s in my handbag?….

Too Faced Kabuki brush. I can’t find the exact one. This is a similar one from Too faced here.

Mac Studio Fix Powder, you can buy from Brown Thomas here

Catrice Prime & Fine Contour Palette can be found in Penneys nationwide and independent stockists. I have swatches of it here.

Benefit Porefessional License To Blot , You can pick it up from Debenhams online here and I have a full review here too.

You can buy the Rimmel Exaggerate Eyeliners in store or from Boots online here.

You can get the Exaggerate Lipliners like the eyeliners in store or from Boots online here. I also have swatches of it here if you’re interested ๐Ÿ™‚

Rimmel The Only One Lipstick in Naughty Nude- I have swatches here and you can buy from Boots online here.

I bought the Chanel card holder from Brown Thomas. Very fancy purchase, but I do get alot of use out of it ๐Ÿ™‚

And I think that’s it, if I missed anything out be sure to let me know.

Thanks for checking out what’s in my handbag ๐Ÿ™‚

I am a big fan of the Soap & Glory Archery Brow Filling Pencil & Brush. I’ve bought a few over the years. I ran out of my current one and went into Boots to stock up. For some reason I’ve never done a post on it, but you can see it on the Boots website here if you’re interested ๐Ÿ™‚ Instead of going with my old reliable I picked up it’s chunkier friend, the Soap & Glory Archery 2 in 1 Brow, which is a sculpting crayon and setting gel.

Soap & Glory Archery 2 in 1 Brow

I think Boots only stock two shades of this, in Ireland anyways, which is not ideal! You can get it in Blonde Ambition and the darker one which I have here Brown & Out.

The pencil itself is flat with an angled edge, it nearly has a triangle shape to in when you look at it head on.

irish beauty bloggertop irish beauty blogtop irish beauty bloggerirish makeup and beauty blog

It’s a hard waxy pencil, which I personally like in an eyebrow pencil,as you have more control over the product and are less likely to over do it. It’s a pigmented pencil and applies easily onto the skin. On first glance, the colour looks like a good neutral shade, however it does apply a little warm. I’m fine with that personally as my brows (and hair) have a got a bit of red warmth.

irish makeup and beauty bloggerbeauty blog ireland

The pencil is quite thick though and as you use it, it does wear down and mine has crumbled a couple of times, although I feel like this happens with most retractable pencils, so I don’t really hold that against the product. You just have to be careful about the amount you twist up when you’re using it.

Because the pencil is on the thicker side, it is hard to get a defined line with it. If you are someone who is not too blessed in the eyebrow hair department, I don’t think the Soap & Glory Archery 2 in 1 Brow would necessarily be for you. I am kind of in between, I do have brows but they don’t grow naturally on point, so I can get away with using it somewhat, I do have to be careful though! I generally add a bit of brow powder over any pencil I might use, just to help the setting process and fill in any gaps I might miss. I have used the pencil and setting gel on their own a few times though and they lasted quite well!

You sacrifice the spooley end like on the Brow Filling Pencil & Brush, for a setting gel.

top blog irelandtop irish beauty blog

It is a clear setting gel and does a really great job at getting your brows into formation (bit of a nod to Beyonce there ๐Ÿ™‚ ), without making them hard or crispy…nobody likes a crispy eyebrow!

Overall, I like the Soap & Glory Archery 2 in 1 Brow. I have to admit though I like the Brow Filling Pencil & Brush more. You just have more control with it! If you have fabulous bushy brows and just want to fill in the gaps and clean them up a bit, the 2 in 1 brow works really well. I, personally just need a bit more definition in my life ๐Ÿ™‚

The Soap & Glory Archert 2 in 1 Brow is available from Boots in store and online here and it will set you back โ‚ฌ13.50.

The Trilogy Mineral Radiance Mask has fast become one of my favourites. I am on my second tub of it, so I think I have used it enough to give my honest opinion about it ๐Ÿ™‚

beauty blog ireland

Trilogy describes the Mineral Radiance Mask as a mineral rich kaolin mask that delivers instant radiance with a deep cleansing action. It contains Native New Zealand pohutukawa extract helps tone and regenerate while emollient oils, rosehip and evening primrose nourish and hydrate.

My less fancy description would be this a really lovely kaolin clay mask filled with natural ingredients. I don’t personally mind the scent, if you are sensitive to smells though try give it a whiff or get a sample before you buy. It applies smoothly to the skin and unlike other clay masks I have used in the past, dries to a nearly rubber like texture.

irish beauty blogger

There’s no tightness so it’s really comfortable on the face. The mix of ingredients means it works well for drawing out impurities, but leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturised. I have pretty oily skin, and it works really well for me because weirdly enough I can get dehydrated in some areas. I feel the Mineral Radiance Mask gives me the best of both worlds.

We all know the Trilogy name for their Rosehip oil. I am a huge fan of this too, so for it to be in their mask is such a bonus. Rosehip oil is great for scars or marks on the skin, dehydrated skin and even fine lines.

irish makeup and beauty blogI’ve never looked better, I know ha!

Trilogy says just to let the mask dry and then rinse off, I’ve been known to forget it’s on and an hour later remember and have no redness or anything as a result, so it’s not too harsh. It comes off easy enough with just warm water. I usually like to use a muslin cloth with it though makes things a bit easier.

In my humble opinion I think this is a pretty darn good mask. I have oily skin and works really well for me, but I think it would really work for all skin types.

A 60ml tub of the Trilogy Mineral Radiance Mask will cost you between 23-24 Euro depending on where you buy it. Cloud 10 Beauty sell it here

ย Sleek are such an awesome affordable brand. They do so many great eyeshadow palettes (amongst other things of course). The colour range and the choice of finishes are really second to none within the more ‘drugstore market’.

Today’s really easy (remember I’m not a makeup artist) look is courtesy of the Sleek Vintage Romance Palette. You can pick it up from Boots here.

Sleek Vintage Vamp Palette

I think this would make a great Christmas party makeup. The Vintage Romance palette offers great shades for bit of shimmer and a bit of smoke. This look would work well on a more hooded eye shape too as the concentration of colour is on the lash line.

Irish beauty blog beautynook (30)

I started out as always by priming my lids and adding a matte skin colour shadow over top.

I took some of the shade ‘Propose in Prague’, the only matte shade in the Vintage Romance Palette.

irish beauty blog

I applied a wash of this with a blending brush into my crease, just to add a little definition and give the lid colour something to blend into.

irish beauty bloggerirish beauty blog beautynook

I then used the colour ‘Lust In LA’, which is a shimmery taupe.

beauty blogger beautynookI patted this with a flat shader brush all over my lid.

irishbeautyblogirishbeautyblog beautynook

Then with a clean blending brush just did some window wiper motions to blend it into the crease colour ๐Ÿ™‚

irish makeup and beauty blog

To smoke things up a little, I took some ‘Forever In Florence’. a dark purple shimmer.

irish makeup and beauty blogger

I patted this quite thickly along my lash line.

irish makeup and beauty blog beautynookirish makeup and beauty blogger beautynook

This colour comes out much more purple over the ‘Lust In LA’ shade and I wanted it a little darker, so did the same thing again with the darkest shade in the palette ‘Love In London’.

top irish beauty blog vintage romance paletteI used a small more precise brush and kept the colour more to the lash line so ‘Forever In Florence’ is still visible.

top irish beauty bloggertop irish beauty blog beautynooktop irish beauty blogger beautynookIf you lose some colour intensity you can just go back in and apply more of the colour.

I added some lashes and a slick of liquid liner to the band, totally optional of course, you can just do mascara by all means.

irish beauty blog

For the lower lash line I went a bit colourful, you can of course just add the darkest shade to smoke things out more and or just leave bare and add some mascara.

On the outer half of my eye, I used the true purple shade in the palette ‘Bliss In Barcelona’.

makeup blogger vintage romancemakeup blog

Then to brighten things up a bit I used the light gold shimmery shade in the Vintage Romance palette ‘Meet In Madrid’.

irish makeup blogWith a pencil brush I applied this under the rest of my eye and on the inner corner.

irish makeup bloggerbeautynook beauty blog

I finished off the eyes with some brown liner in the upper and lower waterline, some mascara to my lower lashes and a light shimmery brow highlight.

I hadn’t used this palette in so long and a few of you had told me it was your fave Sleek eyeshadow palette, so hopefully if you own it, this might give you some inspiration.

I’m back again with another Urban Decay Naked Palette look. I am no makeup artist, just a lover of makeup and applying it :). I did a look with theย  the Naked 2 here a while ago too. I think most makeup lovers picked up one of these palettes along the way, so I want to cover all the bases.

This time I did a really easy and achievable Smoky eye using the aptly named Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette.

Urban Decay Naked Smoky PaletteYou can check out swatches of the Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette here here too, if you want to see all of the shades on the skin.

First up I primed my eyelids with the Paese Eyeshadow Base. I just used my finger to apply it.

Paese CosmeticsEyeshadow primerbeautynook blogThen over top of it, just to set it and to get rid of the tacky feeling, I used the lightest shade in the Naked Smoky Palette ‘Thirteen’ all over the eyelid.

Thirteen Naked Smoky PaletteEyeshadpw lookThis step isn’t really necessary, but I just added a little of the shade ‘Combust’ into my crease to begin the story ๐Ÿ™‚

Combust Naked Smoky Paletteirish beauty and makeup blogmakeup and beautyTo lay a base for the darker shadows on my lid, I grabbed the Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Slate.

Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil SlateI applied this to the moving part of my eyelid, one eye at a time and blending as I went as these set pretty fast.

irish beauty blogbeauty blogbeauty bloggerTo blend out the edges of the Jumbo pencil more and deepen up the crease, I took the shade ‘Password’, which is a grey toned matte brown.

Password Naked Smoky PaletteI used a clean Mac 217 blending brush to buff this into my crease, and to make sure there was no harsh edges.

simple eye lookNext is the fun part ๐Ÿ™‚ I loaded up my brush with the colour ‘Armor’.

Armor Naked Smoky PaletteAnd patted this onto where the Jumbo Pencil was. Be sure to pat, there is alot of fallout. You can always apply more of this at the end to intensify the look so don’t worry if you blend some away finishing the look.

Real TechniquesI decided to darken the outer v so I took a tapered blending brush and grabbed the darkest shade in the palette ‘Black Market’.

Smoky paletteLouise Young brushI basically just drew a V with the brush on the outer part of my crease and lid.

irish beauty blogirish beauty blogThen, you guessed it more more blending ๐Ÿ™‚ I cleaned my 217 off again and diffused the edges of the black.

Mac 217smoky eye lookIf the colour gets too muddied, just apply more and blend the edges. Don’t worry if the edges of your eyes get a bit messy, you can just clean it up with you concealer.

easy smoky lookurban decayUnder the eye I added some ‘Black Market’ with a pop of ‘Armor’ in the middle and blended it up to meet my top lid

smoky palette makeup lookirish makeup blogger beautynookI curled my lashes and added some healthy coats of mascara. You can by all means add lashes and some liner on the top lash line at this point if you want to make the look even more dramatic.

I decided to add some gel liner to my inner waterline. Rather than going for black, I went with the Inglot AMC Matte liner in 78, which is a grey colour.

Inglot AMC 78 Gel LinerbloggerI wrote a whole blogpost about how I apply liner here so I won’t bore you with all the details. I use a pencil dipped in the liner to get the job done though :).

So I tightlined the top.

Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette Tutorial (30)And the bottom.

Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette Tutorial (32)Last set. I added some highlight to the inner corner. I took the shade ‘High’ in the Naked Smoky Palette.

Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette Tutorial (34)And applied a good helping with a pencil brush.

And there you have it, there’s my hopefully easy smoked eye look using the Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette.

I added a light pink lip and some peach blush to finish it off.
