I’ve swatched the new Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions Palette already here. Now it’s time to get it on my face 🙂

Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions Palette Makeup Look

This was actually my first time using it properly. I had used it a day or two before just before bed, as you do. Well maybe you don’t ha! I always like to play with makeup or practice my skills before washing the day away. It means I can feck it up and it’s all good in the hood. 🙂

Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions Palette Makeup Look

I can say after using it. The Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions shadows are really easy to work with. There was minimal fall, I did tap the brush every time I dipped into a shade though, so I am sure that helped a little with that.

I never really go into a makeup look with a set plan, just sometimes with set products I want to use. This was obviously the case here, considering I wanted to showcase my new Huda Beauty purchase. The look ended up being super orange/coral, but I still think wearable and simple at the same time?

The colours definitely looked a bit more vibrant in real life and video form, so be sure to check out the video above to see the application in motion. I think the other stars of the show are Torch 24/7 Glide On eyeliner from Urban Decay and Laura Geller’s Gilded Honey lip gloss.

I also used Precious Petals highlighter from Wet n Wild which I have a blogpost on here.

After filming this, I went to a blogger event and I got four, (I counted) compliments on my eye makeup 🙂  Sure that in itself is a win! Let me know what you think. Will you be running out to buy the Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions? Or is it a miss?

Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions PaletteYes, I caved. I bought another one. I wanted both of the new releases, I won’t lie, but I settled on the Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions Palette. We also have the Gemstone Obsessions Palette to choose from now too. This is very much a fun, specific look palette, that you would probably have to incorporate another palette with to achieve a look. Well I know I would have too anyways, so I went with the safer option 🙂

I already have reviews of the Mauve Obsessions and the Smokey Obsessions here and here if you fancy continuing your Huda Beauty journey after reading this one of course. That’ll give you an idea of the consistency of those palettes too, as the formula does change slightly from colour to colour.huda beauty ireland

The Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions Palette is super super red, orange and coral toned. Shock horror I know 🙂Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions Palette

There’s nine shades in total, just like all the palettes in this ever growing collection. Huda say it’s a slim line edit of their sought after orange, red and yellow toned hues. So if you don’t want to splurge on the Desert Dusk Palette, (like me), it could definitely be one to look into closer. They have them in store in the Brown Thomas Beauty Lounge if you want to swatch before you shop. The palettes are small, but I think the shadows are a decent size within them considering how compact they are. The shadows are extremely pigmented too, so the colour goes a hell of a long way.beauty blog ireland

The palette contains seven matte shades, with two metallics.

I personally think the Huda metallics apply best with a finger tip or a damp brush. To be fair, I could say that about most metallic shadows if you want to get them super opaque on the eyelid. There’s no base shade in this palette, but there is lots of matte crease and transition shades to choose from, so I can forgive it for that. The mattes apply really nicely to the lid too.

You can buy the Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions Palette online now here. I picked mine up for €28 from Brown Thomas. What do you reckon? Will you be adding it to your lust list? I’ll definitely be doing a look with it very soon so keep an eye out for that.

This is a bit of an all over the place February Favourites!

february favourites

The cabin fever has gotten to me and the tangents are mighty. Hope you don’t mind a bit of rambling 🙂

february favouritesAs I write this, the snow is still coming down strong and after three days indoors, I miss civilisation. Ok, I am being totes dramatic and I hope everyone who stumbles across this post in real time is safe and warm. Oh and has enough bread and milk to keep you going. 🙂

In my cabin fevered state, I managed to add in a favourite that I spoke about already in my January favourites. I could have edited it out, but then I thought, I loved it enough to talk about it twice, so I must really like it!

irish beauty blog

It’s all beauty related chatter for February favourites 2018. I did try to see if I had anything else to add into the pot, but I want it to be genuine. Beauty is the thing I am consistently trying, hence the monthly turn around.irish beauty blogger

I actually really enjoyed making this video. I haven’t done a makeup ‘tutorial’ type one in a while. They take a lot of work and to be honest not many people watch them. I always have to tell myself though, I make videos more because I enjoy creating them. If people watch them, great, if not, I’ve hopefully learned something from the experience. This is very much a mauve eye makeup look. Actually the lips are mauve too. So, it’s just a mauve look 🙂

Mauve Eye Makeup LookI used the very talked about Huda Beauty Mauve Obsessions palette to create my mauve eye. I’ve utilised this palette a hell of a lot since I picked it up! I have a blogpost on it here and I do give you a quick review in the video, so I won’t go in to major details quality wise in this post.

Huda Beauty Mauve Obsessions Palette

I think it’s fair to say if you’re not a mauve, or pink toned shadow fan, stay well clear. For me, these shades ( I think), work well, so I’ve been enjoying experimenting with it. The last few times I’ve used it, I’ve shared pics on Instagram, and I’ve always gotten  such lovely feedback. So, this video is for your lovely selves who ended up picking it up, or might have it in a drawer needing an outing 🙂

Mauve Eye Makeup Look Huda BeautyI went full on and finished the mauve eye look off with a mauve lip too. I have so many mauve lippies in slightly different shades and finishes, it’s definitely my go to colour. Everything else is pretty simple and if you want to know any of the other products I used, head over to my latest Get Ready With Me YouTube video here.

Let me know what you think and let me know if you picked up the Mauve Obsessions Palette, I know it’s kind of a marmite one 🙂

My first get ready with me for 2018! You know I love these videos myself, I love zoning out and just watching the makeup take shape. This makeup look is one I did to go out for dinner.

I had some new products I wanted to use and I wanted to look put together but not too dolled up, if that makes sense?irish beauty youtuber

Now of course that’s up for interpretation. You could look at this makeup look and think you could never in a million years put this much makeup on.

Primer: Fenty Beauty Instant Retouch Primer all over and the LA Girl Pro Prep Smoothing Face Primer on the T Zone for extra …priming 🙂

Foundation: Estée Lauder Double Wear Nude Foundation. (Review here), mixed with the LA Girl HD Foundation. Completely unnecessary to mix foundations, it’s just something I like to do to change up colour, coverage, longevity, depending on the scenario.
Eyebrows: LA Girl Shady Slim Brow Pencil. Freedom Brow Powder Duo. Rimmel Lasting Finish Concealer, I used this on my face where I needed extra coverage too. Benefit Gimme Brow for a bit of added texture  and then Benefit 24 HR Brow Setter to set them all in place.irish beauty blogger

Eyes: Zoeva Matte Eyeshadow Fix. theBalm Meet Matt(e) Shmaker I did a blogpost about this here the eyeliner used on the upper lash line is in this post too, along with the Mary-Dew Manizer highlight. I used that in the inner corners of my eyes and on my cheekbones. The main eyeshadow palette used was the Huda Beauty Smokey Obsessions. The Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen in Rose Glow was used in the waterline. To finish I added a tiny bit of the Pixi Liquid Fairy Lights in Crystalline over the top of everything. Mascaras used were the Catrice Lashes To Kill Pro and Mac Extended Play.

The rest of the face consisted of: Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. Isa Dora Blotting Powder. Max Factor Creme Bronzer. La Girl Just Blushing blush in Just Peachy. theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer highlighter and then the Too Faced Hangover Setting Spray.

Finally, lips were the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Pencil in Pillow Talk with the Fenty Gloss Bomb over top.

Ok, writing it out, it’s a hell of a lot of product to use in one makeup look I know, but I do go a bit extra with things. Not all steps are necessary 🙂

Huda Beauty Smokey Obsessions PaletteI hadn’t really planned on doing a dedicated post to the Huda Beauty Smokey Obsessions Palette.Huda Beauty Smokey Obsessions Palette

A lot of chatting was done about the Mauve Obsessions here when I first got it so I thought people would be sick of hearing about them.

beauty blogger ireland

The Huda Beauty Smokey Obsessions Palette has been a constant in social media posts since I picked it up though so, I thought I needed to get a reference post up so I can link anyone to swatches and the likes.Huda Beauty Ireland

If you’re unfamiliar with these palettes , they’re really very dinky. They fit into the palm of my very small palm. However the pans are decently sized within it. The eyeshadows also pack a real punch so you really don’t use much per look.

The Smokey Obsessions comes with nine colours in it’s miniature packaging.top irish beauty blog

You get five foiled shades and four mattes. They range from a light taupe, gold, silver, medium to dark browns and a matte black. So everything you need really to create a brown/black smokey eye or a more light, airy shimmery look. You get the best of both cool toned and warm tones from it. For me, it’s missing a base shade for setting the lid, but I don’t really mark it down, it just means I’ll always have to have another palette to hand for that.

top irish beauty bloggertop beauty blog irelandtop beauty blogger irelandThe mattes are ultra pigmented and easy to blend. The foiled shades are really soft and creamy. However, I don’t think you get the best out of them with a brush. You need to press them on with your finger for full on opacity. This tends to be the case with most foiled shadows in my experience though, so doesn’t really bother me.top beauty blogtop irish beauty siteOverall, I am a big fan of the Huda Beauty Smokey Obsessions Palette. The shade choices are all wearable for me. I have been reaching for it so much. At €28, these little palettes were a great introduction to the Huda Beauty brand for me too. I had never tried anything from them before. You can find all four colour ways online here.
