Myself and John are on a little break away in Wexford. We’re in Duncannon and honestly it’s one of the prettiest places I have ever been in my life. The scenery is breathtaking! One of the days we thought we would head out for a bit of lunch and a wander so I thought I would turn the camera on and take you through my Ten Minute Makeup Look.

I would describe this as quick, simple ten minute makeup look with a bit of added extra effort. I didn’t want it to take too long, but I still wanted to look put together.

So many of you told me you love watching Get Ready With Me style videos. I love watching them too (not my own though if I’m being honest ha) So here’s a Spring Makeup one, where I am basically applying a face of makeup that I would wear for a Spring day/early evening. Myself and himself were off for some Friday eats this day so I thought it would be a appropriate because I was actually doing my makeup to go somewhere, not just for the sake of filming πŸ™‚

This is more of a talk through style video, which I still haven’t completely mastered, words still elude me πŸ™‚ But I thought I would give it a whirl and sure don’t they say practice makes perfect, right?

Irish beauty blogI used a mixture of more affordable and more high end makeup which is a true representation of my normal makeup routine. I like to mix it up πŸ™‚

I did another Youtube video…it’s no mean feat I’ll tell you that much πŸ™‚ My neighbours are currently building an extension, so the noise outside my window is pretty loud this week, so I thought get ready with me using affordable makeup video would be appropriate with some chill out music over top.

Thanks so much for taking the time out to watch, it honestly means the world to me.

I have two of the Ben Nye Luxury Powders. I have them and have been using them for…not gonna lie years now. I had never really thought to do a review on them, I never really thought people would be interested to be honest. The couple of times I have posted pictures on them though, I have gotten so many questions about where I got them, How much they were, are they good etc, so I thought I would pop all that information in a handy blogpost, so people could just come here for all the answers πŸ™‚

The two Ben Nye Luxury Powders I own are the Banana Powder and the Cameo Powder.

Ben Nye Luxury PowdersBen Nye (who are a professional makeup brand, that’s why they are kind of hard to get hold of) do a plethora of colours in their Luxury Powder range. They come in a whole host of sizes too. The two powders I have would probably be classed as the medium size. They contain 42 grams of product. If you are just using them on yourself, this size will probably last you a lifetime πŸ™‚ The powders themselves are really finally milled. They almost have a flour like consistency to them, which makes them really messy because they go everywhere, but means they apply to the skin really nicely and you can really layer them up.

The Ben Nye Luxury Banana Powder is of course a yellow powder.

iris beauty blogIf you are sallow, this would work great as an all over setting powder.

top irish beauty blogFor me, I like it for setting the under eye area. A yellow toned powder is great for adding a little more coverage to any discolouration you may have under there. Depending on how much coverage I want, I’ll use either a brush for a lighter dusting or a sponge to really pack the product on.

The other one I have is the Ben Nye Luxury Cameo Powder.

This, on my lighter and more pink skin tone is the one I would use to set my whole face.

irish beauty bloggerAgain, like the banana powder you can sheer is out or really pack it on depending on your preference.

beauty blog irelandbeauty blogger irelandTo me, neither of these Ben Nye products give you any major coverage. They are both brilliant for mattifying, and keeping you looking matte without making you look like you are caked in makeup or settling in any fine lines or pores. They will also subtly colour correct the area that you add them too.

Overall, I really love the Ben Nye Luxury Powders. They are a staple in my makeup collection and I reach for them alot. You can buy them online from Ireland here from Sunaura.

I know Christmas is what we’re probably looking forward to the most, but New Years Eve is a big occasion too right? So. I have here a New Years Eve Makeup Look I would happily rock on the faithful night. I went for a subtle glittery eye with a matte pink lip. I think this combo would work for any night out not just New Years but it’s nice to have an excuse πŸ™‚

Base, brows and eyeshadow primer dunzo!

irish beauty blogThen onto the good stuff, I’m using the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Palette.

urban decay gwen stefani paletteIsn’t she a beauty?Β  I have a full review of it here if you want to see it up closer.

I grabbed the shade Stark to begin and added a wash of it to my crease just to makeup everything blend better on my lids.

urban decay paletteirish beauty blog beautynook

To deepen the crease colour more I took some Anaheim and blended that over top.

gwen stefani paletteirish makeup and beauty blog

To conceal any discolouration on the brow bone and lighten it, I applied some Skimp. It has a little bit of sheen to it but nothing too crazy.

gwen stefani paletteirish beauty blogger

Punk is one of my favourite colours in the palette.

punk gwen stefani paletteI used a tapered brush to apply it on the outer v of my eyes, and blended it across my crease slightly.

irish bloggerirish blog beautynookTo just add a base for the pigment, I patted some Baby over the rest of my lid.

top irish beauty blogbeauty blog beautynook

And then some more blending happened πŸ™‚

irish blog beautynookI don’t think this step was really necessary, because the pigment is more of a shadow than a glitter, but I did it so I’ll add it in.

I applied a really small amount of Duraline onto my eyelids (I have a full blogpost on Duraline here).

inglot duralinetop irish beauty blog

I pulled out Makeup Geek’s pigment in New Years Eve for a bit of festive sparkle and because it’s aptly named for a New Years Eve Makeup look πŸ™‚

makeup geekmakeup geek pigment new years evenew years eveI applied this with a flat brush over where I placed the Duraline.

irish beauty blogirish beauty bloggerI just deepened up Punk in the outer corner then.

I used the colour Blackout, from the Gwen Stefani Palette to line my lash line because lashes have to happen…it’s New Years Eve Makeup. πŸ™‚

urban decay irelandeasy new years eve makeupnew years eve makeup

I chose Ardell Demi 120 false lashes, I like that they flare out on the outer corners.

ardell demi wispiesirishbeautyblogirishbblogger

To hide the false lash band a bit more, I applied a line of liquid liner across them.

physicians formulanight out makeup

I concealed and then went onto the lower lash line. I added some of the Punk shade on the outer end of my eyes, the same as the top lid.

easy evening makeup

And then some Baby on the inner part.

Mascara time then.

I wanted to darken things up a little more so I tight lined with some black liner.

beauty blogger ireland

For some inner corner brightness, I used the shade Pop.

I wanted to go with a somewhat strong pink lip. I lined my lips first with Nyx Lip Pencil in Pinky.

nyx liplinermakeup tutorial

I chose one of my favourite lip products the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in the colour Ole Flamingo.

I did some loose curls in my hair for the occasion and then we’re done πŸ™‚
