Yep they’ve finally gone and done it! Cocoa Brown have released an instant tan! They’ve answered our tanning prayers 🙂
Us bloggers got all dolled up and headed to The Shelbourne this past Sunday where we were treated to a lovely and pink afternoon by Marissa and the Cocoa Brown girls. We were showered with gifts and the new Cocoa Brown Instant Tan Bronzing Gels were unleashed on us.
Marissa has created two different Instant Tan Bronzing Gels. One is matte.
And the other has shimmer running through it.
Here’s the matte one Bronzing Gel on my hand.
And here you can see the matte and the shimmer bronzing gel side by side.
They both differ in consistency slightly, the matte one is more of a fluid gel, where as the one with the shimmer is, well more of a gel texture 🙂
Both of the Cocoa Brown Instant Tan Bronzing Gel’s apply to the skin super easy, there’s not much faffing about and they dry really quickly too. You can apply as many layers of them as you need to build up the colour you want without the product going patchy as they are a thin gel and blend really well. Added bonus they smell really nice too 🙂
Obviously, I’ve only had these babies since Sunday so I haven’t given them a full road test yet, but first impressions are really good.
I applied them on both my legs to give you a better look at the finish you are left with. I applied with my hands, but of course you can use a mitt if you want too. (Cocoa Brown have just brought out a double sided one fyi 🙂
Here’s my pasty leg with nothing on it.
I applied a couple of coats of the matte instant tan.
Then it’s time for the shimmer instant tan. Again, my other pasty leg :p
Then a couple of coats of the shimmer tan.
The shimmer is hard to pick up on my camera, but there’s alot of shimmer going on, I promise.
It really is tanning in an instant, and the product is splash proof, thank god with unpredictable weather like ours 🙂
I for one am so happy about these releases. I hold my hands up and admit I am such a lazy tanner, it’s one of my least favourite things to do, so I love a good instant tan, it just takes the effort out of it really. Also if you’re pale like me and your developing tan doesn’t always develop enough, it’s handy to have something like this in your beauty drawer for back up.
Cocoa Brown Instant Tan Bronzing Gel should be hitting the shelves in Penneys stores near you very soon or you can order from Cloud10beauty here.  They will both be €6.99 for 150ml tube.
Will you be picking one or both of them up? Let me know what you think.

I am having a mascara love affair. It doesn’t happen very often, it has been very short lived, but it’s a love affair nonetheless 🙂 You might think I’m crazy, but I have a bit of a pained relationship with mascara. Getting one that holds a curl, that is lengthening, doesn’t smudge or flake and adds volume is no mean feat!
Well I can safely say after putting the Maybelline Lash Sensational (in waterproof) to the test, it ticks all the boxes for me.
I think when it comes to mascara, you know within a few times of wearing, sometimes even one wear, that it’s the one for you. I have been wearing the Maybelline Lash Sensational everyday for the last two weeks. Not a long time but I think it’s enough time in mascara world to give an honest opinion.
And also the proof is in the pudding too right?
I have pretty minuscule, straight lashes, as you can see here.
I harp on about this all the time, but I am a big fan of the eyelash curler, I use it everyday without fail, unless I’m wearing falsies. It just opens my eyes up more and obviously…well curls my lashes 🙂
So here are my lashes curled with the Shu Uemura eyelash curler.
And then we get onto the fun part, and actually one of my favourite parts of applying makeup. I think your lashes can make or break a look. I personally like as much lash as I can possibly get even during the day, but specifically length, so I lash on the mascara (ha get it lash on!) Ok, enough jokes, here’s the Maybelline Lash Sensational applied to my lashes.
I love how separating and lengthening this mascara is. I had tried the non waterproof one previously and it was a lovely mascara, it just didn’t hold the curl for me. This one does, and it’s really black and it gives a good amount of volume and it doesn’t clump and it doesn’t end up halfway down my face at the end of the day.
I also really like the curved wand, I wasn’t sure I would to begin with but I think you get the best of both worlds from it. You can always turn the spooley and use the straighter side, if you prefer. It has different sized bristles aswell, which seems to work really well for coating the lashes without clumping up too much. I have to admit though, I like a little bit of clumping, so I do layer a fair amount of mascara on. Is that bad? it’s only personal preference anyways sure :).
Although the Maybelline Lash Sensational has a wet formula, which I am not always a fan of, because I think it can weigh lashes down, I don’t think this happens with the Lash Sensational at all, the formula just seems to work!
So there you have it, Maybelline Lash Sensational in waterproof, it’s a yes from me 🙂 I picked mine up from Boots and it costs €11.99.
Thanks for reading, and let me know your favourite mascara, I am always on the hunt 🙂
I thought I would review my Seventeen Cheek Stamp that I picked up in Boots a while back along with their Define and Contour Kit that I reviewed here
I got the shade “Stare Struck”.
It is a lovely dusky pink with a light silvery shimmer going through it. As you can see the powder blush is in the base of the packaging. The lid itself is a spring loaded sponge, so when you close the lid the sponge sits on the blush and is pre loaded with product for you when you open it.
The lid also sports a mirror which is always a handy addition to any makeup product. Of course you can just use the product itself with a blush brush, if you don’t like the sponge applicator that comes with.
If you stamp the blush onto your skin, you are going to get a little something that looks like this.
Very Aunt Sally don’t you think? 🙂 Don’t worry though it’s powder so you can just blend it in with your fingers or a brush and you will be left with a colour that looks something like this.
It is a really pigmented product and blends really well into the skin, leaving behind a lovely flush of blush on the cheeks, that lasts throughout the day too.
Overall, I really like the Seventeen Cheek Stamp. I love the colour of this one “Stare Struck”, there is a choice of five colours in the collection though. I like the idea of the stamp mechanism as it makes it more portable and easy to throw in your handbag. And lets face it, it’s really cute too 🙂
The Seventeen Cheek Stamp retail for €6.29, and you can pick it up in Boots
I am reviewing Image Skincare’s Ormedic Balancing Eye Life Gel. I love Image Skincare. It is definitely not cheap but they do some lovely products. I love their Iluma range, especially the Intense Brightening Serum.
I have the Balancing Eye Cream a while now and have been using it everyday.
Image say that this is a balancing, hydrating and lifting eye gel with organic ingredients and medical effectiveness. Multi-peptide formula reverses the signs of ageing. This eye gel is marketed towards all skin types. I am turning 30 very soon (the panic is starting to kick in, believe me) and so eye cream has become a staple in my skincare. As I am not a morning person I have been enjoying using Benefit’s Puff Off most mornings which I reviewed here not too long ago. So, I have been using the Eye Lift Gel in the evenings, it is recommended to use for both occasions though.
I love the packaging of this eye gel, the product comes out of a pump, and for me, one pump per eye is enough.
Although it is a gel, it has a creamy consistency so does feel hydrating on the skin which some gels don’t always do. I can get dry under my eyes so I am very glad of this. It has a pleasant smell and rubs into the skin really easily, leaving behind pretty much no residue. Some eye creams can leave behind a tacky sensation, which really isn’t very pleasant. The Ormedic Balancing Eye Lift Gel doesn’t though, it sinks in really well. Although I am heading into my 3rd decade on this planet…yuck. I have oily skin, I get spots galore, but wrinkles (so far) have been kind to me. I do notice after using the Balancing Eye Lift Gel that the area around my orbital bone feels soft and nourished.
I can’t really say it reverses the signs of ageing, I don’t think any product really can, but it is a lovely eye cream and is lovely to use for more preventative measures. We can all get behind that mentality 🙂
I received this from my other half for Valentine’s Day. I am not very romantical, but who can say no to this loveliness? I am a lucky girl 🙂
This is the Nars Dual Intensity Palette in all it’s glory before I got it all grubby.
I bought a single Dual Intensity Shadow when they were released first exclusively to Space nk and paid €27 for it, so this palette is a pretty good deal at €55 for 8 of them AND a flat shadow number 49 brush to boot aswell as lovely packaging. The single shadows are 0.5oz and the shadows in the palette are 0.3oz. The palette is a much more practical deal to try out these shadows.

Close Up Of The Shadows Before I Dug In
Seven of the shades are part of the permanent range, but there is one shade called “Ursa Major” that is for now exclusive to the palette.
They are are all shimmery shadows ain’t no mattes around these parts 🙂 They are formulated to be used wet or dry. Applied dry they apply a bit more sheer and they are of course easier to blend. They are buildable though as you will see below. When you apply them wet, they become foiled and are even more metallic and magnificent. They are soft and just glide onto the lid. I feel they last better on the skin wet rather than dry.
Below, I have swatched them all so you can see them for yourself, wet and dry.

As you can see we have warmer brown tones on the top of the palette and then cooler blacker tones on the bottom. Everything you will need for a metallic smokey eye 🙂
If you are a makeup junkie, and have money to splurge you need the Dual Intensity Palette in your life. The colours and pigmentation within it are just beautiful. You will get alot of use out of it if you like to experiment with makeup and play with colours and textures. I am not an enabler I swear 🙂
Have you picked it up yourself? Can you justify it?
