Vichy Normaderm Beautifying Anti-Blemish Care…what a mouthful! 🙂
If you have been following Beautynook for any length of time, you will know I have oily, spot prone skin. The Vichy Normaderm range on paper, is literally made for my skin type. Vichy says it’s ‘An expert collection of products to combat the 6 signs of imperfection-prone adult skin: Blemishes, Pores, Shine, Oily Skin, Marks & Uneven Complexion. Suitable for even sensitive skin.’ My skin in a nut shell 🙂

Vichy Normaderm review

I’ve been using this moisturiser for a couple of months now, so I think I am in a good enough place with it to give you an opinion. Off the bat, I love the packaging. It has a pump applicator, you can control the amount of product that comes out of it by how hard you press on the top of the pump.

The moisturiser itself has a really fresh  (but strong scent) that I personally like. The texture of it to me, is like a gel/cream hybrid. It has a thin consistency and soaks into the skin really quickly. If you have oily or combination skin, this is brilliant for a day cream.

Vichy says it contains something called Airlicium, this is supposed to help the moisturiser disperse and absorb sebum. It also contains 1.5% salicylic acid. Alcohol is high up on the ingredients list too, so if you are really senstive, I would be careful.

I can honestly say the Vichy Normaderm Beautifying Anti-Blemish Care does not interfere with my makeup longevity. I’ve used so many moisturisers in the past that are just far too emollient and my skin is shiny within the hour. It still manages to moisturise my skin though. My skin, although oily can tend to be dehydrated in places and I’ve found since using the Vichy Normaderm moisturiser this has significantly decreased. My skin feels more replenished.

Using this along with my holy grail toner the La Roche Posay Serozinc (I have a full review of this here), I have also noticed my skin texture (I tend to get alot of whiteheads on my cheeks) has improved alot too. I can’t say it helps particularly with pore appearance like it claims though. It has helped lessen the redness of my hormonal breakouts somewhat, I don’t think a topical cream, can stop them altogether.

I use a pump of the Vichy Normaderm Beautifying Anti-Blemish Care after cleansing and toning during the day and leave it to sink in for only about 5-10 minutes, it soaks in really fast. Then, just do my makeup as normal. I use it in my night time routine too, and then follow up with a heavier cream, but that’s completely just me, that isn’t necessary at all.

When it comes to skincare, I can only tell you what works for me, I am by no means an expert 🙂

Overall, the Vichy Normaderm Beautifying Anti-Blemish Care seems to work really well for me though. The bottle I have now is a press sample, but when it runs out, I will definitely repurchase. The Vichy Normaderm range contains toners, cleansers, spot treatments the works and like with most Vichy products, are not too horrendously priced.

You can buy Vichy Normaderm in chemists nationwide and in Boots in store and online here. It will set you back between €19-20 euro, depending on where you purchase it.

Have you tried anything from the range? Be sure to let me know, I’d love some recommendations.

I have been going a bit liquid lipstick crazy the past few months. I have never been fully on board with the lipgloss phenomenon. I don’t really do shiny lips without a purpose. Liquid lipsticks fill the colourful shiny void for me and nowadays they come shiny but not sticky which makes a glossy lipped life so much easier 🙂

This post will be dedicated to a new liquid lippie on the block. The Catrice Shine Appeal Fluid Lipstick in the colour 070 ‘Better Make A Mauve’.

She’s a pretty one right?

I have literally been wearing this non stop since I got sent it. It’s so easy to wear. Even though it’s very much the lip colour of the moment (the world is having a 90’s mauve moment), it’s a really easy to wear version of it.  You can slather it on your lips without much to do, so it’s a great handbag companion.

‘Better Make A Mauve’ is of course of a dusky mauve colour, it’s pigmented with some shimmer running through it, although the shimmer isn’t hugely noticeable when the product is applied. I am personally happy with that.

It glides on really easily, has a sweet faint scent, lasts really well on the lips and one of the main things for me, is not sticky or uncomfortable to wear!

I rock it on it’s own most of the time, but when I want to dial up the 90’s intensity a little, I’ll add the NYX ‘Mauve’ lipliner underneath.

It’s a very  similar colour just in matte form.

Together they are a match made in mauve heaven :p

The Catrice Shine Appeal Fluid Lipsticks are part of Catrice’s Autumn/Winter collection and have been set for release in the last week of August, which is pretty much now. So we should see them filtering into Penneys and pharmacies nationwide in the coming days. I cannot wait to see what else is in the collection 🙂

Last night I attended the Irish press launch of the brand Flormar. Now I know Flormar is a brand that has been around a while now. It originated in Milan in the 70’s and is now based in Turkey. It was available in Ireland for a short time too a couple of years ago, but now it is being relaunched into pharmacies around the country aswell as The Cosmetic Outlet in Dublin 8 and online too.

I myself had never tried Flormar, so I was very excited to bring home a goodie bag at the end of a lovely evening in The Residence.

I thought I would show you the products us bloggers got just to give you a little impartial look at some of what the brand has to offer.

Flormar itself has a whole range of cosmetics, including over 1000 different nail polishes, holy crap, so there is plenty of choice for us and everything is priced below €12.95!

First up we have the product their Bronzing Powder.

This bronzer is huge, you get 33grams of product for €9.95.

After swatching the bronzer I can say it’s really pigmented and soft to the touch aswell. You can see it on my arm above, swatched and then beside it a swatch more blended into the skin. It has sparkles in the pan but applies matte.

Next up is their Illuminating Primer Make-up Base.

This comes in a 30ml bottle with a pump and will cost you €9.95. Flormar say it’s infused with green tea and acacia to soothe and nourish the skin.

It comes out white on the skin initially.

But then when it blends and dries it leave a nice sheeny (but not greasy base).

I wonder how this will fare on my oily skin?

We also got an eyeshadow palette in our bags.

This is called ‘Nude Dudes’ and will set you back €9.95. It contains 5 matte brown shades including a warmer brown colour which is pretty rare to find in your local chemist. I for one am happy about this.

I’ve only swatched them on my arm so far, but like the bronzer, they were very soft and easy to blend.

The lightest shade is the exact same colour as my pale ass skin so it doesn’t show up too well on camera. It will make the perfect base colour for my lids though 🙂

We got two lip products to try out aswell.

First up the Flormar Longwearing lipgloss in ‘Backstage’.

flormar beautynookI actually wore this today, the hot magenta colour lured me in. It’s not sticky on the lips at all and the colour pay off is pretty impressive. It has little reflective sparkles throughout it aswell. The lipglosses cost €5.95 each.

The other lip product is one of their Revolution lipsticks in the shade ‘Provocative Orange’.

I love the packaging of these 🙂

And the pay off isn’t bad either, in fact it’s pretty bloody good.

This has a really soft texture to it and went on no problems at all. The colour is also pretty gorge too right? The Flormar Revolution Lipsticks will cost us €6.95.

Finally in our goodie bag, there was Jelly Look nail enamel.

flormar jelly look nail polish

flormar nail polishThis is in the colour Turquoise Green, I love it. There’s plenty of colours in the nail polish range to choose from though so don’t worry 🙂

I just swatched it quickly on one of my nails. This is two coats and no top coat applied.

beautynook beauty blog

It applied easy enough and I love the long handle on it, I think it helps with the application. Not sure of a definite price on these but I will add it in as soon as I know.

Overall, I’m actually pretty impressed with what I have seen of the Flormar brand. I think it will be a welcome addition to our ‘drugstore’ makeup brand selection.

What do you think? Have you used the brand before? Let me know.
