I am on my second bottle of the La Roche Posay Toleriane Ultra Eye Contour.

La Roche Posay Toleriane Ultra Eye Contour

I picked this up after seeing Sinèad from The Beautiful Truth talking about it. And, I am so glad I did!

La Roche Posay Toleriane Ultra Eye Contour

As you probably know because I always go on about it. My skin is predominately oily. However, I do suffer with dryness under my eyes. So, I was on the hunt for an eye cream that cleared it up as it can not only be uncomfortable. It can make applying makeup a pain in the bum too. I also didn’t want to spend a tonne of money on something, in case it didn’t do the job. I can say hand on heart the La Roche Posay Toleriane Ultra Eye Contour has ticked all of the eye cream boxes for me πŸ™‚

It is specifically designed for sensitive eyes. And according to La Roche Posay here, it is ‘preservative-free, paraben-free, fragrance-free, alcohol-free, colorant-free, lanolin-free.’

It comes within a pump dispenser which I always find handy.

And the formula itself is in a separate airtight bag within the bottle.

This is supposed to keep the formula fresh. On a side note, the pump doesn’t dispense too much product. You can somewhat control the amount of cream you want. The pump has a spring mechanism. I don’t find myself rubbing excess cream into my hands after applying it πŸ™‚

The formula is what I would describe as a creamy gel.

Even though it feels hydrating on the skin, it absorbs really quickly and doesn’t feel tacky or leave a film behind. I have been using it both morning and evening for the past few months and have found a significant reduction in the dryness under my eyes as a result. I use a probably a pea sized amount tapped out around each eye.

Overall, I am a big fan of the La Roche Posay Toleriane Ultra Eye Contour. To be fair I would have to be to repurchase it. I can be a bit flaky when it comes to my beauty products (no pun intended πŸ™‚ ) I think it is a really good price too. I got mine in a local pharmacy for €14. You can pick it up from Boots in store or online here too.

These are some of the new Rimmel Moisture Renew Sheer And Shine Lipsticks, that I am sure you have probably seen on your social media feed alot of late, if you follow lots of lovely bloggers like myself πŸ™‚ I don’t mean I’m a lovely blogger I mean I follow lovely bloggers ha! Anyways…

Rimmel Moisture Renew Sheer And Shine LipsticksRimmel Moisture Renew Sheer And Shine Lipsticks

Rimmel already have their Moisture Renew Lipsticks, these ones pack more of a colour punch than the newΒ Rimmel Moisture Renew Sheer And Shine Lipsticks that have more of a sheer colour.

The Boots description of them is:’Rimmel London Moisture Renew Sheer & Shine Lipstick, a moisturising lipstick with a translucent, luminous, vitamin-enriched colour. This gloss-in-a-stick moisturises lips, giving a radiant touch of juicy colour and energising shine.Added SPF 20 helps protect your luscious lips from the harmful effects of the sun.’

There are eight varying shades in this new collection to choose from. Boots Ireland only seems to have six of them available though. They vary from the general lipstick colours, red, pink, coral, mauve, brown, nude. The usual shades us lipstick junkies are looking for.

I have 3 of them to showcase for you today πŸ™‚

irish beauty websiteirish makeup and beauty blogbeauty blogOn first swatch theΒ Rimmel Moisture Renew Sheer And Shine Lipsticks remind me alot of the Revlon Lip Butters we all went crazy for a couple of years ago. I loved them so much I bought colours on eBay that you couldn’t even get in Europe at the time, that’s makeup dedication right there πŸ™‚

The Rimmel Moisture Renew Sheer And Shine Lipsticks definitely have a colour to them, while feeling really comfortable on the lips. If you like a defined lip line I don’t think these will work for you as they are really soft and nearly like a gloss without being annoyingly sticky. They also don’t have the Rimmel telltale lipstick smell, they do have a very lightΒ  kind of fruity fragrance to them, but nothing in comparison to what we would be used to with Rimmel of late.

Overall, I think theΒ Rimmel Moisture Renew Sheer And Shine Lipsticks have a very long name yep :). I think they’re really pretty, but I can’t say they’re anything new really.

If you’re in the market for a sheer glossy lipstick, the Rimmel Moisture Renew Sheer and Shine’s will set you back €8.29, are on 3 for 2 instore in Boots or online here in Boots at the moment.

What do you think of them?

Dove Deeply Nourishing Body WashBody wash? Yep we’ve all got to use it. Sometimes I feel like investing money into it and splashing out and sometimes I want a reasonably priced pick that I know I can rely on. For me, Dove is this pick. I was sent this new Dove Deeply Nourishing Body Wash, but I had actually done a basics shop in Boots a few days before and picked up a bottle myself!

I love the soapy “clean” smell of it…if that makes sense? πŸ™‚

Irish Beauty BlogIt has a thick consistency, so you can use it just with your hands and create a nice lather or with a sponge or a flannel, what ever your poison.

beauty nook review dove

I tend to use it on my hands when I am washing as normal. A little goes a long way and it feels really nice and silky on the skin. I use it to shave aswell. I am not really a shaving gel lover, and I find the Dove Deeply Nourishing Body Wash is a great alternative. And because it is so reasonably priced, I don’t feel like I’m wasting the product either.

Once or maybe even twice a week, I like to exfoliate my skin. Again, I can use the Dove Body Wash for that too.

Dove Beauty Blog

I can sometimes find gritty body scrubs a bit too harsh. Using the body wash, which feels lovely and nourishing, I apply it with this exfoliating gloves. You can pick them up in loads of different places. I get mine in Penney’s. I love this combo, because I am in control of the scrubbing, not the product and The Dove Deeply Nourishing Body Wash lathers up nicely and makes my skin feel nice and soft afterwards.

Overall, The Dove Deeply Nourishing Body Wash is a winner in my book. I have always loved the Dove range of body wash products. My skin doesn’t feel dry or dehydrated after using them. The Nourishing Body Wash is particularly good for this. At the minute it is €1.74 (half price) in Boots . Cannot argue with that really πŸ™‚

Orange Lip Products

I have already listed some favourite red lipsticks here, pink lipsticks here and even some bolder darker choices here. So I thought the natural progression would be…some oranges. I pick up an orange number more than you would think on a day to day basis, it can really brighten up a look, and make it fresh and interesting. Like any lippies you can go wild and full on or you can do it under stately. It all depends on your preference, or what mood you are in that day πŸ™‚

I picked 5 from my collection that should cover all bases when it comes to finish, pigment, glossy and matte.

First up is an offering from Shiseido.

Shisedo OR418

This is in the Shade OR418

Shiseido

Shiseido OR418

This is a glossy but pigmented lippie. I actually got this in one of my Chic Treat Club boxes and I have gotten so much use out of it. It’s a lovely true orange shade, that’s moisturising on the lips and is really easy to wear. Really need to try more Shiseido, it’s so readily available in Irish pharmacies.

Next up is more of a sheer orange gloss in the form of Revlon’s Colorstay Moisture Stain.

Revlon Moisture Stain 025 Cannes Crush

This is in the shade 025 Cannes Crush

revlon cannes crushRevlon ColorStay Moisture Stain 025 Cannes CrushThis is a more subdued peachy orange for those of you who just want a hint of a tint. The great thing about the Revlon Moisture Stains is that when the non sticky gloss wears off they still leave you with a bit of colour on your lips. They are so easy to wear too and the doe foot applicator is small and nifty so the product is really easy to apply.

I picked a peachy shade for my next choice. I know everyone doesn’t want bright shiny or orangey lips.

This is one of the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet.

The camera makes these come up shiny but I promise they’re matte πŸ™‚ I’ve waffled on about these Rouge Edition Velvet’s before so I won’t bore you with the details. This colour is so wearable for all skin types. It really brightens up a look without looking like you tried too hard, and believe me these last all day too.

I choose probably one of the most infamous shades to talk about next. You cannot talk about orange lip products without having this involved.

Mac Lipstick Lady Danger

This is of course Mac’s Lady Danger

Lady DangerMac Lady Danger

When you want to make a statement you wear this…simple. It is a vibrant red toned orange lipstick of loveliness. If you like a bold lip, and don’t have Lady Danger, add it to your shopping list, you won’t be disappointed. Just looking at it in the bullet gets me all a flutter πŸ™‚

My last choice here in orange heaven is of the pink toned variety for again the girls who don’t want to go full on orange.

Sleel Matte Me 434 Party Pink

This is one of the Sleek Matte Me Lip Creams in 434 Party Pink

434 Party PinkSleek Matte Me 434 Party Pink

When they say these are matte, they really really mean it. I had left this one until last to swatch and my lips just shrivelled up, so apologies. You can still see the colour though. It’s a gorge pinky orange shade, that would be perfect for the warmer weather. Some tinted moisturiser, mascara and Party Pink would be the perfect pool party combo. It’s such a fun colour. Just be sure to exfoliate and moisturise the lips before applying πŸ™‚

I picked 5, but I really could have picked 10. You would have been here all night reading about orange lipsticks though and I am sure you don’t want that.

Some food for thought anyway and all of these are readily available in Boots, Brown Thomas (for Mac of course) and pharmacies nationwide.

Cheers,

Gemma
