I thought rather than just tell you about the Garnier Micellar Oil Infused Cleansing Water, I would make a video showing in action.

Garnier Micellar Oil Infused Cleansing Water

This is the first time I’ve ever taken my makeup off in video form so it felt a little strange, not going to lie πŸ™‚

Garnier Micellar Oil Infused Cleansing Water

Garnier say of their new Micellar Water on the Boots website: ‘Is Garnier Micellar Oil-Infused Cleansing Water Right For Me? Yes, if you are looking for an efficient, yet gentle cleanser that removes all make-up (even waterproof), impurities and dirt and leaves skin feeling nourished. Suitable even for dry, sensitive skin. Why Is It Different? Micellar Oil-Infused Cleansing Water is an easy way to remove even waterproof make-up, and cleanse and nourish the feel of skin, in 1 step without rinsing. How Does It Work? For the 1st time Garnier Micellar technology is formulated with oils. The micelles (cleansing agents) capture impurities like a magnet & lift away dirt from the skin, whilst the oils instantly dissolve all types of make-up. The Results:Perfectly cleansed, nourished feeling skin without rubbing or rinsing.’

In this video I show you the Garnier Micellar Oil Infused Cleansing Water in action on a full face of makeup including waterproof mascara and gel eyeliner. As well as giving you my two cents on it. I’ll give you a hint though….

I think this picture give you my true feelings, right? πŸ™‚

The Garnier Micellar Oil Infused Cleansing Water is always on special it seems. I’ve seen it in Penneys, Dunnes and even Tesco discounted and it currently €5.53 on Boots online here. The normal price for a 400ml bottle is usually €8.29.

As always you can watch by clicking on the video above or you can head straight over to watch it on my Youtube channel here.

Have you used the Garnier Micellar Oil Infused Cleansing Water? Are you a fan? I would love to know your thoughts πŸ™‚

Thanks for watching.

Rimmel and Kate Moss together over their 15 year relationship have had 40 separate campaigns, which is pretty impressive! To celebrate, they’ve released the Rimmel Kate Moss 15th Anniversary Lipstick Collection. There is also a nail polish collection too!

Rimmel Kate Moss 15 Anniversary LipstickThe lipstick is encased in a metallic look rose gold plastic tube, which I am not mad at whatsoever. Love me some shiny rose gold πŸ™‚

I picked up 3 shades in the lipstick collection, but there is six varying nude and red shades to choose from.

Rimmel Ireland

Rimmel say of the latest collaboration,’Celebrate 15 years of the most successful, unrivaled partnership in the beauty world. Rimmel and Kate Moss introduce a special-edition lip collection in Kate’s favourite reds and nudes, each created by Kate and inspired by her London look.’

The three I picked up are:

54 ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Nude’ A creamy pinky nude.

Here they all are swatched on my arm side by side from left to right.

There is also another red shade called ‘Idol Red’, which is in between the red colour spectrum of the two I have here. And then two other nude shades that are less pink based and are called ‘My Nude’ and ‘Boho Nude’.

I am a big fan of Rimmel lipsticks and these do not disappoint from a colour pay off and formula point of view. They are creamy easy to apply and true to colour. They have the familiar Rimmel lippie overly sweet scent. I don’t mind it, it reminds me of stepping into the front door of Ikea, where they keep all of the scented candles :). But, if you are sensitive to smell, the strong scent might deter you!

The colours are lovely, but they are not anything majorly new or innovative. Most brands, including Rimmel have colours like these already in their makeup stands. The packaging is pretty though πŸ™‚

The Rimmel Kate Moss 15th Anniversary Lipstick Collection is in store and online in Boots here now. They cost €10.99 each which is a bit pricey for Rimmel I will admit. Boots are doing buy one get one half price on Rimmel at the moment though. Superdrug also have the lipsticks instore and online here which is where I got mine for €8.99 each and are on 3 for 2 at the moment.

I have already harped on about the other theBalm Meet Matte Hughes shade in my collection Charming here. I was browsing theBalm section in Foody’s Pharmacy and saw that they had the shade Committed and the rest is history πŸ™‚

theBalm Meet Matte Hughes Committed

I love this shade so much, I felt like it needed it’s very own blogpost #obssessed or wha’? πŸ™‚

theBalm Meet Matte Hughes

I think Committed is like Charming’s nude best friend. Like all of theBalm Meet Matte Hughes Liquid Lipsticks. Committed has a minty, but still sweet smelling (without being too overpowering), they have a creamy formula when first applied, are opaque and dry down to a matte finish on the lips. Although they are matte, they’re not super unconfortable to wear, although as I said in my previous post, it always helps to have your lips in tip top condition to get the most out of a matte liquid lipstick. theBalm Meet Matte Hughes are super long wearing and do little to no transferring unless of course you break into the greasy foods, it will start to separate.

Committed is the perfect pinky nude shade. I am a girl who likes a bit of pink in her nude, no that is not an innuendo, get your mind out of the gutter πŸ™‚

irish beauty blogirish beauty blogger

Really paled out lips just don’t suit me though so I’ll always opt for one with a bit of pink to it, I think it warms up a lighter complexion more.

You can see it here swatched on my lips.

irish makeup and beauty blogHere it is swatched beside Charming, just in case you want to see the difference between the two. Charming (on the right) is definitely more mauve.

top irish beauty blog

Committed is one of those really easy shades that will work with any makeup look no matter how simple or bold you might go. You can even just dab a little onto the lips and add a balm or some lipgloss under it or over top for a long wearing, but glossy version.

top irish beauty blogger

You can pick up the theBalm Meet Matte Hughes of course from Foody’s Pharmacy, but you can also get them online from Cloud10beauty here for €16.50. Now, the question is….which one do I pick up next?

This is my second Maybelline blogpost for this week. This one is about more new products to their range, the Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipsticks.

Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid LipsticksMaybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipsticks

Like the new Color Show Crayon Kohl Liners (which you can see up close in my previous post here), the Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipsticks are not listed on the Boots website yet πŸ™ Maybelline have 10 shades listed on their website My LocalΒ  Boots only have 7 shades on display, there was a good colour spectrum going from nude , to bright pink, orange, red and plum.

I picked up two to give a whirl.

irish beauty blog

05 Nude Flush is the perfect blush toned pink colour.

45 Possessed Plum is on the other end of the colour spectrum and is a deep berry purple shade.

Both of the shades apply really easily to the lips. Nude Flush is definitely more opaque and doesn’t take as much layering up. It’s also more matte in finish. Here are both of them swatched side by side on my arm.

The Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipsticks are a bit confusing for me. When I first picked them up, I expected them to be kind of like the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks which I absolutely adore! They have a similar consistency when you first apply them to the lips although the formula is a bit thicker in my opinion. However, they don’t dry down. As you can probably see from the swatches. This means they’re not really matte and they do transfer and they do move on the lips. I left the swatches of them on my arm for a good ten minutes and then wiped over them with tissue. There’s not much left of them in the aftermath.

irish beauty blog

The Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipsticks have a really strong sweet scent to them which I actually like, but then if you eat or drink while you have them on, you can actually taste the scent which I don’t like at all. Remember the perfume you used to get with Barbie back in the day? The taste of them totally reminds me of that πŸ™‚

Overall, I really like the colour and the colour pay off of the Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipsticks that I picked up and I will use them, but the lack of longevity and the strong taste off them would probably put me off buying any more.

They cost €9.99 in Boots and are buy one get one half price at the minute.

First off, doesn’t the name L’Oreal Infallible Mega Gloss Matte just confuse the bejesus out of you? It’s clever though because it made me buy a couple of them when I was browsing Boots a couple of weeks ago πŸ™‚

L'Oreal Infallible Mega Gloss Matte

The L’Oreal Infallible Mega Gloss Matte do come in shiny gloss form too, so maybe that’s why they kept the name. They come in the same packaging as the ‘matte’ version, just in a whole host of other colours. There wasn’t as many colour choices for the mattes, so I only picked up two of the shades that I thought I would actually get use out of and wear.

irish makeup and beauty blog

The texture of the L’Oreal Infallible Mega Gloss Matte, to me is neither a gloss or a matte. I think they have a satin finish. You can however blot off the shiny layer if you choose and are left with a more matte appearance. This kind of gives us the best of both worlds. They are really pigmented and have the familiar sweet smell that alot of the L’Oreal lippies have. They have a sponge applicator that is curved in the middle and tapered at the tip, which is surprisingly handy for application. It kind of sits on your lip and you can let the applicator do the work.

top irish beauty blog

The first shade I picked up is 405 ‘The Bigger The Better’.

top irish beauty bloggertop irish beauty blogIt’s a bright pink shade. Here it is swatched applied normally to the lips.

The second shade I got is 407 ‘Smoke Me Up’.

irish beauty blogirish beauty bloggerThis is more of a berry shade.

Here it is normally applied.

Overall, I am digging the L’Oreal Infallible Mega Gloss Matte. As they are more of a creamy finish, they do move around. You will have transfer and you will have to reapply after eating or drinking if you want to keep the full effects of the colour. However, after wear they do leave behind a lovely coloured stain on the lips, so you’re not left without pigment completely. They feel soft and comfortable on the lips and not at all sticky.

You can pick them up in store in Boots or online here. It’s a bit annoying on the Boots website, because it seems they have the gloss and mattes in the one grouping, so make sure you know what shade you want before purchasing online. They will set you back €7.79 and are on 3 for 2 at the minute.

Be sure to let me know what you think πŸ™‚

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream, a very well known skincare staple in the beauty world.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream

Us beauty enthusiasts go on about Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream alot, but does it live up to the hype? And exactly what can you use it for?

top irish beauty blogger

Elizabeth Arden will give you a list as long as your arm including using it on your eyelids and cheekbones as a highlighter, to tame fly away hairs and the likes. I don’t think this stuff is very practical in the real world, so I wanted to list my real life uses in a post πŸ™‚

Eight hour cream has an ointment texture, although I get the fragrance free version, there is still a slight nearly medicinal scent to it, but it doesn’t linger so it’s not something to worry about too much. It is not fast absorbing so don’t be expecting it to soak into your skin any time soon. I see this as a pro rather than a con though because of what I use it for.

irish beauty bloggerirish makeup and beauty blogirish beauty bloggerHere is what I use it for:

  1. Chapped lips! It so great for hydrating the lips. It’s a great night time treatment, but it works really well to prep the lips before lipstick application as well as a giving the lips a nice shine without being sticky if you want to just wear it on its own.
  2. I use it as a night time treatment on my brows and eyelashes. I think it helps with their condition. It also helps with softening any hard brow hairs you might have too.
  3. It is fab for dry cuticles, it needs alot of working in, but it’s worth it.
  4. If you wear lashes, you know the plight of left over lash glue, Eight Hour Cream massaged into the roots can help remove it gently.
  5. Any dry skin spots you might have will benefit from a splodge of it!
  6. If you have scrapes or minor burns it can help ease the itch and heal the abrasion.
  7. Finally, I use it a foot treatment. I slather it on and then put some fluffy socks on before going to bed. It helps with cracked heels and any dryness that you might have from wearing stupid shoes (like me πŸ™‚ )

Overall, Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream is a brilliant product to have in your skincare arsenal. It has so many uses, probably more than I have listed, they’re just things I use it for personally. It’s not cheap you can get it in Boots, Debenhams, anywhere that sells Elizabeth Arden really. The standard price is €33. A tube of it will last you forever though. The one I have now is over a year and it’s still going strong. I did order mine from Strawberry.net where if you’re lucky you can sometimes get a good deal on it.

Let me know if you use it and if there’s any other cool uses πŸ™‚
