kiko cosmetics haulThis is definitely a bit repetitive. My last blogpost here was a makeup haul from Brown Thomas. Forgive me. I had a voucher for BT. And we are just back from a couple of days away in Brussels where we had the best time. Belgium also have Kiko Cosmetics though, so I couldn’t resist picking up a few bits in store.

Kiki Cosmetics haul

Kiko have a pretty decent sale on at the minute online and in store. A lot of their stock have 30% off. Also, they are selling off a lot of their limited edition collections aswell.kiki cosmetics ireland

The first thing I got was the Smart Cult Eyeshadow Palette in Matte Revolution.kiko milano

I would have picked up the Shocking Sparkle Shades one also, only they didn’t have it in stock in store. These are pretty new palettes, but they are currently 30% off here.kiko irelandirish beauty blog

I had actually shared a pic of these on my social media a couple of weeks ago eyeing them up so I was delighted to get at least one and with the 30% off it only set me back €11.85, which I thought was pretty damn decent.

Like any brand, Kiko Cosmetics for me, can be great and not so great. I’ve picked up some things over the years and they’ve ended up in the bin. I think that happens with most brands though, not everything is going to suit. Not everything is going to be good. One thing they do very well though is cream eyeshadow sticks.

I already have a fair few of these. They come in an abundance of colours. I was restrained, mostly because I’m poor, and just picked up two shades πŸ™‚irish beauty blogger

They are €6.95 a pop in store or online here.beauty blog ireland

I got 36 which is Golden Mauve.

And also 38 Golden Taupe.

Both of these are actually quite cool toned. That wasn’t on purpose but I am definitely venturing into the more cool toned shadow world again at the moment.top beauty blog

Another pencil buy was their Ever Lasting Colour Precision Lip Liner in 402.top beauty blogger

I’ve never tried these before, they were on sale, (again 30% off here), and I thought 402 looked like a good everyday lip colour.

These are retractable and have a sharpener built in which is always super handy too.

My last two Kiko Cosmetics purchases were of the shimmery variety. I definitely do not need another highlighter but sure look, do I really NEED any of this?

I swatched their Glow Fusion Highlighters and decided on 02 rather than getting the lightest shade 01.beauty blog

It’s a little more golden (it is called Heavenly Golden after all), and all three shades are currently 30% off in store and online here.

The packaging is also very swish, so I thought it was well worth €6.95 just for the magnetic closure πŸ™‚

My very last buy was a Metal Eyeshadow from their Arctic Holiday Collection.beauty vlogger

These are currently 50% off here.

I bought this completely based off swatching it just before I got to the till.

I liked the reflective shimmer in it and it was €5.45 and limited edition, so need I say more really? Looking at it now, it’s super similar to the highlighter it just has a bit more chunkier shimmer running through it, but sure look πŸ™‚irish beauty blog beautynook

And that is my Kiko Cosmetics haul done. Now I’m excited to get stuck in and play with these bad boys! Anything tickle your fancy?

Affordable Makeup Favourites

I do this every so often. I’ll pick five (or so) affordable makeup products that are in my makeup rotation at the mo and have a little chat about them.

Affordable Makeup Favourites

Why do I give them different names you ask? The last one here was called ‘Current Budget Friendly Makeup Favourites. Well the only reason for that is that it’s good for SEO not to have the same titles all of the time. That’s the only reason I am calling this Affordable Makeup. Sure it all means the same thing πŸ™‚

My first affordable makeup love of recent times is the L.O.V Cosmetics Eyeshadow Palette in ‘Devoted To Metallics’.

L.O.V is created by the same company who brought us Catrice and Essence. You can find it in pharmacies nationwide. There’s more information on the Irish Facebook page here. I’ve used a fair few products from the brand, It’s definitely been hit or miss for me. This palette from their Autumn collection is a hit in my humble opinion though.

irish beauty bloggerbeauty blog irelandΒ It’s €14.99 so not the cheapest out there I know. The quality of the packaging is A1 though and the shimmery shades inside are super pretty. The pink colour in particular has been getting a lot of love from me on minimal makeup days. It’s a great ‘whack all over the lid shade’.

Next we have the Eylure X Fleur De Force Brow Define Pencil.

beauty blogger

Now I did a whole blogpost on this a while back here so I won’t go into it too much. But, I have been thoroughly enjoying this. Having the two tones of brow pencil in one means I reach for less brow powder too. I think this makes my brows look a teeny bit more natural and less drawn on.

top beauty blogMy third affordable makeup choice is the Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liners.

rimmel makeup

I talk about these all of the time. They are some of my favourite liners out there full stop. I feel like when the weather gets cooler I become more obsessed with lipstick and branch out a bit more. I consistently pick the Rimmel liners to either use on their own as they are super creamy and pigmented. Or to use under lippies.

beauty blog

I have the shades Addiction, Diva Red and Eastend Snob here:

beauty blogger ireland

Because they are soft, they do have a tendency to break. This doesn’t bother me too much though. I’m just careful not to twist them up too much. You can find them on the Boots website here.

Another Rimmel offering has made into my current top five. This is their Insta Fix & Matte.Β rimmel irelandRimmel know their way around a setting powder and this one proves that for sure. It’s just a general talc based pressed translucent powder but it’s quite smoothing on the skin too. This is something that I always appreciate as I have ginormous pores. I like it πŸ™‚ You can get this from Boots online here.

My last favourite is the Wet n Wild Liquid Catsuit Matte Liquid Lipsticks.Β wet n wild irelandI am fairly late to the party with these. Everyone has been raving about them for a good while now. I have two shades in my possession.

Nudist Peach and Give Me Mocha.

Give Me Mocha in particularly has been floating my Autumnal lip shade boat. I have been using this with Rimmel Addiction lip liner underneath. They are of course matte liquid lipsticks so they can be drying. But I find the formula on these quite thin so it doesn’t ball up or feather. And they stay on put once they dry too. I need to try more shades. They are under a fiver aswell which makes it even better!

And there you have my current affordable makeup favourites. What’s yours?

*********INCLUDES PR SAMPLES**********

I’m doing a post on these kind of begrudgingly because there are three shades of the Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Kits. But I, like a bad blogger only have two. They were all sold out in the Boots stores I went too, please forgive me πŸ™‚

barry m matte me up lip kits

The shade Runway (that I don’t have) is on the Boots website here. It’s seems to be a coral red shade.

I bought the Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Kits, if I am being honest, just to see what they were like. My love affair with liquid lipsticks is slowly diminishing. Don’t get me wrong, I have a couple of faves that I still use. But, the dry lip scenario usually gets the better of me and I end up reaching for a lipstick instead. I always have a plethora of lip choices on the go with me. I am fickle πŸ™‚

Obviously these are quite similar to the Kylie Jenner lip kits. I am sure there is no coincidence there. So onto the swatching. I have the shades Pose and Go To. They come boxed up. There is a liquid lipstick and lip liner in each box.

First up we have the shade Pose.

I have them swatched on my arm:

And then here they are on my lips. The lip liner on it’s own and the topped with the liquid lipstick:

The next shade is Go To.

I actually thought from the box packaging on this that it was going to be much lighter than Pose. Turns out Pose is definitely the lighter colour of the two nude shades.

top irish beauty website

I could take a photo of the actual liquid lipstick opened next to the pencil. It is really liquid-y, so it kept spilling out!

Here is the pencil swatched on my arm:

And then the liquid lipstick next to it:

Finally, the two products in action on the lips:

Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Kits_7973

The formula of the lip liners is really nice. They are soft and apply easily and opaquely. The liquid lipsticks are the same. Of course if you don’t like the dry texture of liquid lippies, you will not enjoy these!

For me, personally I like the pencil in the Pose kit, the colour of the lipstick is not flattering on me whatsoever though. Go To is more up my alley. I am in love with the pencil as well as the shade of the liquid lipstick. Even though the formula is a little more loose, it applied the same to the lips. They both dried really quickly and one layer applied an even, opaque coat of colour.

All three of the Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Kits are priced at €9. You can get them from Boots and Superdrug and I believe they are limited edition. You can buy Pose online from Boots here and Go To here.

It’s the beginning of a new month! That can only mean one thing in blog/vlog land. It’s monthly favourites time πŸ™‚ Here is my round up of February favourites for 2017!

My February favourites consist of all beauty related products. There is a mix of makeup and skincare. I do have an honourable random mention at the end of the video though. You can click the video above, or watch it directly on my YouTube channel here.

The Body Shop Almond Milk & Honey Range is first. You can see the range in more detail over on The Body Shop website here.

Garnier Pure 3 in 1 Wash, Scrub & Mask. You can pick this in Boots stores and online here. It costs €7.49.

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk. I have a full review and details on this here.

februaray favourites

Mac Soar Lip Liner is on the Brown Thomas website for €17.50 here. Not the cheapest lip liner in the world, I know. But I haven’t found a similar colour for less money as of yet. I will keep hunting though πŸ™‚

Spring Sheen Blush from Mac. I am definitely having a bit of Mac revisit at the moment, I know! Again, this is on the Brown Thomas website here. €24 is a bit steep, but you can buy Mac blushes in pan form too.

Then my final February favourite is the Clarins Ombre Iridescente Cream To Powder Eyeshadow in 09 Silver Rose. I cannot find a link to this particular colour in Debenhams or Boots. But it is avialble to buy online from CH Tralee chemist for €22.50 here.

And that sums up my February favourites in one blogpost, oh and a video too :). Do you have any stand out products for the month? Beauty or otherwise of course? Let me know and as always thanks for clicking and watching.

I did a What’s In My Handbag video last year when I was heading to a blogger event here. That was more of an evening appropriate bag. I thought I would do an updated one.

irish beauty vlogger

This is completely just for fun, no rhyme or reason. I love seeing what other people lug around in their handbag. My bag is technically a bag pack, I am trying something different for me. I adore handbags, but I am a little brat when it comes to carrying them. I thought a bag pack might make things a little easier. So far, so good πŸ™‚

top irish beauty blog

I don’t have a link for it unfortunately, it seems to be gone now. But Zara have lots of lovely bags in at the minute. So many in fact, that I am going to leave a link here, but I’m not going to click on it myself. I can not afford to ha!

zara handbagzara bagpack

The contents of my handbag comprises mainly of makeup. Shock horror I know! When I put something in, I rarely remember to take it out. So, the bag becomes it’s residents for the foreseeable future.

what's in my handbag

You can of course see me talk about everything in a bit more detail in the video above, or you can click here to watch it directly over on my YouTube channel.

irish beauty blog

I admire people who have their shit together and have their handbag neat and tidy. I am definitely not one of them. Things just get thrown in and I hope for the best. The bigger the bag, the bigger the mess. I like to call it organised chaos though. I know what I have in it, it just might take me a while to find it πŸ™‚

As always thanks for taking the time to watch and read. Do you like these types of ‘nonsense’ videos? I would love your feedback.

Yep it’s happening, it’s January Favourites time!

irish beauty blogger

I am panicking a bit, not going to lie. We are properly into the second month of 2017, eeeekk! But in blog/vlog world that gives us an excuse to recap and look over the month and pick out some of our most used bits and bobs. I do this in video form now, but I do like to still do a blog post too.

My January Favourites for 2017 consist of a couple of fashion bits, a skincare item and of course my one true love, some makeup as well.

January Favourites

I have a bit of disclaimer, I filmed this feeling a little bit under the weather. I have the cold that so many people have at the minute that just won’t go away. So it’s a bit of rambley video, hope that’s OK ha. I am a bit zonked on cold medication πŸ™‚

The products mentioned are:

  • A Zara bag pack, that is gone from the website now, I apologise if you liked the look of it.
  • Coverse Hi Top runners. You can get these in so many places, but I’ll put a link to them on the Schuh website here if you want a closer look.
  • Asos watch: I can’t find a to the exact one, but they have lots of similar (and actually some nicer ones) here.
  • Cailyn Dissolv’It Makeup Melt Cleansing Balm. I got given this at an event, but it retails for €25 from their website here.
  • Isa Dora Matt Fixing Powder. I got this as a press sample. But, I found it on the Feel Unique website here for €17.86.
  • Zoeva Blanc Fusion Palette. I have a review and info on all of the palettes within the Plaisir Box here.
  • Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liners. You can pick these up in Boots in store or online here. They are €5.49
  • And then finally Mac Extended Play Mascara. I have a whole blog post about this here.
