Fashion Haul ASOS, Zara, River Island

What’s seldom is wonderful. I am back with a fashion haul. It’s been a while I know. But I’m brutal at them though ha!

I love clothes, I just don’t love my body. So it’s really hard to put it on show online. That means a fashion haul for me is more just showing clothes to the camera and trying to describe them. Maybe one day I’ll be comfortable enough for the fancy cutaways showing the clothing on. For now, I hope this method is ok.

I chat in abundance about what I bought and why I bought it in the video above or here. And then I will put pics and links down below of everything I can.

I think everything I bought from ASOS, Zara and River Island altogether cost just over €200. For the amount of things I picked up online, I think that’s a pretty good price!

Next up is ASOS. I only picked up two things from them.

First up is these fringed sliders from a brand called Kaltur.

I actually wore these the other day and I did end up with blisters on the tops of my feet. Just something to note. They are available here.

Last but not least in my fashion haul are the bits I picked up from the River Island sale.

Black stipe puff sleeve wrap over blouse. I think my fave item from what I got.

The dud of the haul is probably this pom pom t shirt, just because I sized up and it was already an over sized item.

May Favourites 2018

It’s about that time again dudes. Another month, another faves video. This time I’m looking back over my May Favourites for 2018.

May has been a trying month for me personally I won’t lie, but shite talking about makeup and beauty products definitely helps with all the personal stuff 🙂

My May favourites for 2018 and beauty heavy, there’s no fashion or random loves in sight. Also the lip I am wearing is one of the new L’Oréal Color Riche Shine lipsticks in 466. I am loving the formula of these.

My messed up hair is something I can’t even apologise for. It was a good idea at the time. I swear one of these days I’ll take a course on styling hair or something. I am absolutely brutal at it 🙂

Vichy Mineral 89 Serum . I definitely use more than necessary of this stuff as a day time moisturiser. But it’s great if you don’t like a heavy cream in the day or for night time. I use it in conjunction with a serum and it doesn’t interfere with my makeup.

I actually think the Essence Kawii Trend Edition Collection is gone from June, so apologies if you like what you see.

This is a great little palette if you see it around though.

The Kryolan Translucent Powder is a great staple to have in your makeup stash.

Mine is battered and bruised, all with love though. I end up going back to it so much 🙂

Second last in my May Favourites is this giant eyeshadow brush from Blank Canvas Cosmetics.

Specifically known as the F11 Large Eyeshadow Brush.

Then finally two brow products from Isa Dora which I have been using all through May and really enjoying.

The Precision Brow Pen and the Brow Shaping Gel. Feel Unique actually sell Isa Dora too so I’ve linked them if you want to have a closer look.

And that’s it for my May Favourites. We are officially in June, my birthday month. My June faves are usually a bit more interesting as a result 🙂

Kat Von D Lock It Foundation Review

I thought I would chance doing a review in video form. I don’t do these very often just because I am more comfortable writing my thoughts than saying them out loud a lot of the time. It’s hard sometimes to show the coverage and finish of product in pictures though. So, here are my musings on the Kat Von D Lock It Foundation in all of their rambling glory 🙂

I’ve already done a post on the Lock It concealer here if you’re interested in my thoughts on that too.

I bought the concealer and brightening powder (and the Shade & Light Palette), when the counter first opened here in Dublin. I was lucky enough to meet up with the PR here a while back and they kindly sent me home with the Kat Von D Lock It foundation. They colour matched me to the shade 46 Cool. I wanted a cooler tone to counteract the redness in my skin. The shades come in warm and neutral tones too.

As I say in the video, this foundation does oxidise and darken a little. I probably could have done with a shade lighter. However coming into the warmer months, I should just get away with it.

Overall, I am a big fan of this foundation, if you are looking for full coverage with a demi matte finish on the skin. I think the longevity is really good too without it being too drying either. Click on the video above or here to see it in action properly.

Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions Makeup Look

I’ve swatched the new Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions Palette already here. Now it’s time to get it on my face 🙂

This was actually my first time using it properly. I had used it a day or two before just before bed, as you do. Well maybe you don’t ha! I always like to play with makeup or practice my skills before washing the day away. It means I can feck it up and it’s all good in the hood. 🙂

I can say after using it. The Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions shadows are really easy to work with. There was minimal fall, I did tap the brush every time I dipped into a shade though, so I am sure that helped a little with that.

I never really go into a makeup look with a set plan, just sometimes with set products I want to use. This was obviously the case here, considering I wanted to showcase my new Huda Beauty purchase. The look ended up being super orange/coral, but I still think wearable and simple at the same time?

The colours definitely looked a bit more vibrant in real life and video form, so be sure to check out the video above to see the application in motion. I think the other stars of the show are Torch 24/7 Glide On eyeliner from Urban Decay and Laura Geller’s Gilded Honey lip gloss.

I also used Precious Petals highlighter from Wet n Wild which I have a blogpost on here.

After filming this, I went to a blogger event and I got four, (I counted) compliments on my eye makeup 🙂 Sure that in itself is a win! Let me know what you think. Will you be running out to buy the Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions? Or is it a miss?

April Favourites 2018

As I am writing this, the sun is shining and it’s May. Which means it’s officially Spring, which means no constant rain and being miserable…just some of the time :). A new month also means a look back over the previous month. So, here is a run down of some of my April Favourites for 2018.

How was your April? Mine wasn’t too bad all in all. I had some good times and made some good memories.

My April Favourites consist of mostly skincare actually with a snippet of makeup, fashion and dare I say some political views as well. Definitely not something I talk about a lot. If I do it’s mostly on Twitter. I don’t shy away, don’t get me wrong, there’s just people out there doing a way better job at it than I ever could. But I think May, for me, for us as woman of Ireland is so very important. Please make sure you are registered to vote, do your research and make an informed decision.

Ok, let’s talk about some silly stuff now 🙂

My April Favourites definitely reflect the changes in the seasons, I think. As always I talk much more in depth in the video above or here. But I’ll give you a quick run down and link to everything I can.

Human + Kind Miracle Makeup Remover. (A Micro fiber face cloth).
The Clarins Hydra Essentiel Moisturising Reviving Eye Mask. This is actually on sale at the moment from Debenhams here.
The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution. Definitely a mouthful of a name. It’s an exfoliating peel which treats the top layer of the skin.
Garnier Ambre Solaire Sensitive Advanced Protecting and Hydrating Face Mist SPF 50. This is actually way cheaper than I initially thought and has been working a treat for me.

Earring are from Betty & Biddy.

Then finally my bag was a gift from my friend Ella of Siopaella. She sourced them in Morocco and sells them in store too.

One Eyeshadow Makeup Look

As a bit of a makeup fiend, I know I can get a bit over zealous with the eyeshadow application. I buy ALOT of makeup and am lucky to receive PR samples doing what I’m doing. I’ve gained quite the collection over the years, so have a lot to choose from. I thought I would bring it back to basics a little for this post and show how you can achieve a really wearable, pretty (in my humble opinion) look, using just one eyeshadow. This is my really simple one eyeshadow makeup look.

Initially I was going to go for a matte brown eyeshadow, as it would be super wearable. But every time I rock a purple eye, I always get questions about what I used. I found this Nars Dual Intensity eyeshadow in Phoebe, not going to lie, at the back of one of my drawers. It’s a really nice flattering shade of purple, so I made this my weapon of choice for my one eyeshadow makeup look.

This video is more about placement and blending though rather than the eyeshadow itself. The techniques will generally work for most shadows. Darker ones might take a little more work blending though just to note. But, for any light or medium shadow, two brushes and a warmed up blending hand should work a treat 🙂

So click on the video for my tips and tricks for using one eyeshadow to create a whole eye look. I did use lashings of mascara (Catrice Lashes To Kill Pro and Mac Extended Play). As well as a flesh coloured eyeliner in the waterline too, just to pull everything together. The star of the show is definitely the shadow though and it’s super easy to achieve, I promise.
