irish beauty bloggerIt’s that time of the year again. Time for black Friday deals, and Cyber Monday to boot. I’m more of a Cyber Monday gal myself. I don’t tend to bother with the crowds 🙂irish beauty blog

As a disclaimer, I will just say. You are under no obligation to buy any black Friday deals. I am doing this just because as a blogger I get sent a lot of the codes, so it’s easy enough to put them in one place. And also to be completely transparent, some of the links I will share are affiliate links. You pay no more using an affiliate link. All it means is that if you click on my link and choose to buy something, I make a minuscule commission.black friday deals

Anyway, let’s get onto the black Friday deals. I’ll insert the ones I have already and then update this post as often as I can with more codes/links and cyber Monday deals too.

I’ll update as I source more or things change. Happy and safe shopping 🙂 And if this was helpful, please do share. Thanks.

J.Cat Xtreme Access Pocket Pocket EyeshadowThe J.Cat Xtreme Access Pocket Pocket Eyeshadow made it into my latest monthly favourites, along with some other lovely products. I didn’t properly swatch it in that though. I’ve been getting so much use of out of this little palette and gravitating towards it a lot. So, I thought it deserved some extra swatching attention 🙂

J.Cat Xtreme Access Pocket Pocket Eyeshadow

This is a brand I knew feck all about in all honesty. I had a voucher to spend on the new Irish beauty website, Beaut Essential and they stock it. I wanted to get a couple of things from brands I had not tried before. The J.Cat Xtreme Access Pocket Pocket Eyeshadow Palettes are a mouthful and a half to say. But, they’ll only set you back €9.95, which I thought was pretty good!beauty blogger ireland

There’s three colour ways to choose from on Beaut Essential. I went with the one called Walk Of Stardom.irish beauty bloggertop irish beauty blog

It’s a fairly small palette, it fits in my hand, but it holds 12 fairly decent sized eyeshadows. There is 6 mattes and 6 shimmers. All more on the warm spectrum, although there is a couple of more plum/cranberry shades that in my opinion could shift things more neutral or cool.beauty blog ireland

Visually, the J.Cat Xtreme Access Pocket Pocket Eyeshadow in Walk Of Stardom is so up my alley, but in all honesty I wasn’t expecting much for a tenner. It has proved me wrong no end. The colour pay off on these shadows, both matte and shimmers is really bloody good.

They all, for the most part,  apply and blend really well. Something to note, the gold shade (swatched fifth, is more of a gold shimmer topper, rather than an actual eyeshadow shade.) And the second matte plum shade isn’t great. I don’t gravitate towards it too much, so it doesn’t affect me overall.irish beauty blog

I’ve been reaching for this palette so much on the daily and love that you can create a full eye look with just it on it’s own. There’s transition shades, lid shades and even a highlight shade.

Overall, I am a big fan of the J.Cat Xtreme Access Pocket Pocket Eyeshadow in Walk Of Stardom and now I need the other two colour ways on offer to compare 🙂

Have you tried anything from J.Cat? Any recommendations? Let me know.

It’s been a while since I sat down and did one of these videos. I think this was the last one! My eyebrows have come a loooonggggg way since then 🙂 This time I asked on Instagram if any of you had any questions. Thank god you did! So if you want to get to know me a little better, click on the video above.

get to know me

Would ya look at me posing, pretending I’m reading the lovely questions. I definitely am not, I was just trying to get a thumbnail. Also something you might not know about SEO, it loves pictures, so here’s another one 🙂

I don’t give my whole life away online. I don’t think there’s any real need and also, I’m not a hugely interesting person. But I think it’s important to get to know me a little. Instastories is where you see a lot of it, but it’s nice to shake it up every now and again.

I was really digging this super easy makeup look too, so I wanted to show that off a bit as well. And for anyone wondering, cause I would be too! My awesome Ms Piggy jumper is from Zara. I got it while we were in Spain, but I know it was here in store too for a minute. Obsessed is not the word, although it isn’t the best quality.

In this get to know me q&a. I speak about blogging, kids, beauty and a few things in between. So grab a cuppa and a biscuit and have a click. I’d love to know what you think too. Do you really care about the people you follow online? Or do you just want to hear about makeup and that’s it?

Please do let me know. And as always, thanks for stopping by. I really appreciate it.

PS Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow

Hand on heart, these new PS Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow from Penneys aka Primark have been one of the most asked about beauty products by you lot on social media. I put this picture up on my Instagram.

irish beauty blog

And excuse my French, but you all lost your shit about them and wanted to know EVERYTHING. Well here I am with all the deets on these sparkly lovelies 🙂

PS Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow

The PS Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow from what I know is a fairly new launch from Penneys. I had seen a picture online of the packaging and then the hunt began. My mammy actually managed to pick one up before I did, so the darkest shade here is courtesy of her. (Thanks Kay 🙂 )

There are four shades in the range, at this moment in time, that could change. And yes, let’s us address the elephant in the room. They are very much like the infamous Stila Magnificent Metals! And also very much  like the Pixi Liquid Fairy Lights Eyeshadows too! I can say that confidently as I am a makeup addict and own all three formulas to compare 🙂

top irish beauty blogger

There is a couple of differences when it comes to the PS Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow. One major one is the price. These bad boys will set you back €4 for a 4.5ml tube. Another thing to note is that the packaging is a little bit more flimsy. I would normally be here to give you pros and cons and compare the high end with the cheaper alternative. But I have to say the formula overall is super similar. In theory anyways, I cannot comment on the ingredients unfortunately.top irish beauty blog

Like the Stila eyeshadows, the formula is differs depending on the colour. The lighter two in my humble opinion are more glitter toppers. Here is the gold one in action on top of gold eyeshadow.

Whereas the two darker shades are more opaque in colour and can built up to use on their own. They do dry down pretty well. I’ve used the rose gold shade on it’s own on the lid with primer, and it lasted well.

Here are all four shades swatched on my arm without primer. From left to right we have Glitz, Iced, Rose Gold and Blackice.

I literally cannot say anything bad about the PS Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow. They do the job and they do it well for a ridiculously affordable price. I am super impressed. Have you tried any of the shades yet?

I definitely didn’t do any favourites for the month of September. I was too busy sunning myself on holiday and completely forgot. So we’ll scrap that month and just go into October favourites here on Beautynook. Hope you don’t mind 🙂

My October faves are all beauty related and 100% reflect the changing of the seasons. They are definitely skincare heavy with a touch of hair care and makeup talk thrown in for good measure.

As always, here on Beautynook, I’ll list all the products and link what I can. Just in case anything takes your fancy and you want to explore it more. I use my favourites to just have a casual chat about what I’ve been enjoying. I don’t go too deep into reviewing. Sure it’s just a bit of fun 🙂

beauty blogger ireland

First up is the Alfaparf Semi Di Lino Diamond Crystalli Liquidi. That I definitely wasn’t able to pronounce in the video. I referred to it as hair oil. It is lovely though.

I’ve been testing out more than just two products from the Alex Steinherr X Primark range. But these are the two that have been standing out for me and I’ve been using religiously since picking up.

top beauty blog ireland

I have been obsessed with the Ella & Jo 3 in 1 Hyaluronic Skin Mist since getting it too. The ladies behind the brand are going from strength to strength and sure jaysis, aren’t they Irish? 🙂 It’s such a lovely product.

I picked up the Palmer’s Coconut Body Oil completely on a whim. I wanted something extra hydrating and it was on special. What more can a girl ask for? I’ve been thoroughly enjoying it too.

Lastly, I chat about the JCat Extreme Access Pocket Eyeshadow in Walk Of Stardom. This little €9.95 beauty caught me completely off guard and I totally need the whole collection now.

Three scary words I know. Glitter winged liner. Don’t worry. They’re scary to me too. I’m no professional 🙂

glitter winged liner tutorial

Winged liner for me, does not come easy. I really have to work hard for that flick. I overthink it and my left eye just doesn’t like to be bullied into doing anything it doesn’t want to do. My little trick, that I 100% did not invent does help ALOT though. I did it here on camera for the first time yonks ago and always resort to it when I want a feline flick. That video is from two years ago. I like to feel like I have come on leaps and bounds personally and makeup-ly since then 🙂

glitter winged liner tutorial

When I’m feeling a bit bleh, makeup really helps me get out of my head. So the other day I started playing with liner. I created a glitter liner look and got so many questions on it. Perfect for me, it meant I could do it in video form and hopefully some of you lovely people would watch.

irish beauty blogger

This time around I got fancier and added a glitter winged liner and a bold lip to boot. I reckon this look would be great for now and as we creep into the festive season. Yep we’re nearly there. Meer weeks to go!

beauty blog ireland

And yes, I am obviously am quite proud of this makeup, considering how narcissistic this blogpost is with just photos of my face. I am sometimes happy with my work 🙂 The star of this show is the glitter, of course. It’s the infamous Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Liner in ‘Midnight Cowboy’. This had been on my lust list for ages. Finally, I gave in and picked it up. There is so many more affordable alternatives out there though, so don’t be deterred.

irish beauty blogbeauty blogger ireland

The lippie is the darkest shade from the Bourjois Rouge Velvets that I own. They are a bloody gorgeous formula. And that’s pretty much it! Everything else is in the video above or you can click here. Let me know what you think 🙂
