I’m probably going to say this everytime I put up a post on Beautynook now. It’s been a while blog friends. I’m definitely not as dedicated to blogging as I once was. But sure I’m not gone completely. I still waffle about makeup over on Instagram on the daily πŸ™‚ This video was filmed on my phone, completely off the cuff the other day. I was about to dig into my only Marc Jacobs eyeshadow, that I had never used before, so wanted to document it. The lighting isn’t the best, but sure hopefully the banter is πŸ™‚ This is my really easy burgundy eye look.

easy burgundy eye look

This super simple burgundy eye look could essentially be done with one eyeshadow, some liner and mascara. I probably over complicated it to begin with, just because I was winging it and didn’t know how the fancy eyeshadow would perform. The Marc Jacobs O! Mercy O!Mega Eyeshadowmarc jacobs eyeshadow

I bought it on a whim for myself as a birthday present, along with an eyeliner of a similar colour which I use briefly too. The shadow is absolutely huge, it could probably double as a blush. The pay off is really great and it blended well too. I will say by the end of the evening though it was definitely patchy on my oily lids. I’ll reserve judgement though and try it with different bases before making a final decision on it.easy burgundy eye look

The Huda Beauty New Nude Palette was cracked out for this burgundy eye look too. I really don’t reach for this much in all honesty, but it is pretty to look at πŸ™‚top irish beauty blogger

The lip combo is from Essence, cheap cheerful and effective, I think. Nude by pinky nude. I’m too pale for full on nude lips.

I didn’t film my base routine, but it’s essentially the same as shown here, so you can check that out if you fancy some more content.

So there you have my easy burgundy eye look. Let me know what you think.

*******PR SAMPLES USED********

I’ve already swatched it here, now it’s time to show it in action on the eyes. I paid way too much money for this not to utilise it at least twice on Beautynook πŸ™‚ This is my Huda Beauty New Nude Eyeshadow Palette Tutorial.

I noticed while editing that my eyebrows are not looking their best for this video, but sure you win some, you lose some. I just put them on for the purpose of filming. Obviously my heart wasn’t in it πŸ™‚

I haven’t shut up about Huda Beauty in a minute, so I promise this is the last dedicated post for a while. My debit card will be happy to hear that too. I reviewed their Matte & Metal Melted Eyeshadows as well here too if you’re interested.

Huda Beauty Ireland

I wasn’t properly sold on the Huda Beauty New Nude Eyeshadow Palette since first getting it, I have to be honest. But sitting down with it and taking my time applying the glitter shades has really changed my mind. It’s very pink and purple, so neither of those colours are your jam, stay well clear!

Huda Beauty The New Nude Eyshadow Palette

I’ve been gravitating towards cranberry and pink shades more and more over the past few months. At first I was super intimidated by them. I find the more you try something, for example a red or an orange lip, the more ‘normal’ it becomes. And this has happened for me with these tones of shadows for sure.

In fact, you’re probably sick of seeing them on my eyeballs now. Totes soz πŸ™‚

I will say tonally, you will get really similar looks with the Huda Beauty New Nude Eyeshadow Palette. I’m sure you can just guess that by looking at it, but I’m being super pedantic, cos it’s super spendy!

Anyways, please do click on the video and let me know what you think of the look, not so much my eyebrows though! Have you splurged on the Palette?

huda beauty matte & metal melted eyeshadowSo while I was in picking up the Huda Beauty The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette in Brown Thomas over Christmas. As I was perusing, I happened upon the brand new Huda Beauty Matte & Metal Melted Eyeshadow (s).

huda beauty ireland

I think they were only out a day or so at the time, so all the shades were available in the BT Beauty Lounge. I had a voucher (thanks bro!), so I didn’t mind forking out the 50 quid for two of the shades. They have a pretty hefty price tag at €25 a pop!

There is five Huda Beauty Matte & Metal Melted Eyeshadow colour ways. But they are dual ended so there’s technically two shades within one of them.huda beauty eyeshadow review

So what are they? They are basically liquid eyeshadows, which I guess is an interesting concept. Especially for Huda Beauty considering how successful their liquid lipsticks are. On one end, you get a matte liquid formula with a doe foot applicator. And on the other end, there’s a melted metallic formula in a corresponding shade. I won’t lie, I was kinda intrigued and completely intimidated picking these up. But I’ve actually growing really fond of both shades that I have. There’s five to choose from in total.Huda Beauty Matte & Metal Melted Eyeshadow

The liquid matte colours in both shades, apply really opaquely, but they give you some play time to blend, and they do blend out! You can add colour as you blend, or just go in full on and in both instances for me, I can blend out the colour relatively easily. I’ve been applying them on one lid at a time, with the doe foot applicator and then blending onto the lid with my finger, but switching to a brush for the crease. I find they last really well on their own which just primer underneath and set to a comfortable matte finish. I did use some brown shadow in the crease here just to add some depth.

The melted matte formula, needs to be worked with more quickly as it does have a faster setting time. I’ve been using both, so far as just a glitter accent in the middle of the lid, or as actual metallic eyeliner. They apply fairly opaquely. This formula isn’t as comfortable when it sets, you can feel it on your eyes. It feels a bit tight once dry. Both of the metallics I own have glitter particles in them. The wear time on the metallic end isn’t as long as the matte. It does fade a little, and it can crack a tad, but after a few hours and not super noticeably. I would be wary if you have textured eyelids though.

Overall, I have to say I am a fan of the Huda Beauty Matte & Metal Melted Eyeshadow. I think they are fairly pricey and I think I like the matte shades a bit more than the glitters, but I am having fun putting them to use for sure. Have you tried them yet?

Huda Beauty IrelandThere has been a ridiculous amount of hype about the Huda Beauty The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette. And I think we can all agree it’s purely based on just how pretty it looks, right? I wanted it solely just because the shades look amazing in the pan. Even when I forked over the €65 for it in Brown Thomas, I didn’t even swatch it in store beforehand. Nor had I googled reviews, I just blindly bought. But look at it!!!!

Huda Beauty The New Nude Eyshadow Palette

I only own the Huda Beauty The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette a week and have only used it on my eyeballs twice. It’s been a slow New Years week, there wasn’t much makeup being put on πŸ™‚ I put up a poll on my Instagram stories asking would you want to see swatches regardless. 99% of voters said yes, so here we are. After using it a couple of times I did chime in on stories to tell you my initial thoughts.

The fall out is immense, do your base second and use a creamy base for the glitters to give them more opacity and help them stick. (Huda do include a concealer in the palette). I heard mixed reviews about the mattes, for me so far, they’ve worked well and I find them easy to blend. Although some of them need more building up then others and the fallout is bad, so just be careful!Huda Beauty The New Nude Eyshadow Palette

This isn’t my first Huda Beauty eyeshadow palette. I also have three of the Obsessions Palettes which you can see swatched here, here and here.irish beauty blogger

Ok let’s get into the task at hand, talking about and swatching the Huda Beauty The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette. This palette contains 18 eyeshadows. They range from nude, mauve, gold, copper, to more berry tones in colour. And then you get 10 matte shades, four duo chromes: (Crave, Fantasy, Daydream, Charmed). Two glitters: (Excite, Infatuated). One pressed pearl (Kinky) and then a concealer to use as a base, or however you choose.irish beauty blog

I’ve swatched them in their rows of six from left to right.

Top row: Bare, Crave, Play, Fantasy, Love Bite, Spanked.

Here are some of the shades in action on my eyes, just for reference, it’s a really simple look, I’m no makeup artist, and I’m definitely no Instagram makeup artist.

I paid 65 quid for the Huda Beauty New Nude Eyeshadow Palette, I’m sure there’ll be a video demonstration at some point too πŸ™‚ What do you think? Have you tried it yet? Is it on your lust list? Let me know.

I’ve swatched the new Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions Palette already here. Now it’s time to get it on my face πŸ™‚

Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions Palette Makeup Look

This was actually my first time using it properly. I had used it a day or two before just before bed, as you do. Well maybe you don’t ha! I always like to play with makeup or practice my skills before washing the day away. It means I can feck it up and it’s all good in the hood. πŸ™‚

Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions Palette Makeup Look

I can say after using it. The Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions shadows are really easy to work with. There was minimal fall, I did tap the brush every time I dipped into a shade though, so I am sure that helped a little with that.

I never really go into a makeup look with a set plan, just sometimes with set products I want to use. This was obviously the case here, considering I wanted to showcase my new Huda Beauty purchase. The look ended up being super orange/coral, but I still think wearable and simple at the same time?

irish beauty blogger

The colours definitely looked a bit more vibrant in real life and video form, so be sure to check out the video above to see the application in motion. I think the other stars of the show are Torch 24/7 Glide On eyeliner from Urban Decay and Laura Geller’s Gilded Honey lip gloss.

I also used Precious Petals highlighter from Wet n Wild which I have a blogpost on here.

After filming this, I went to a blogger event and I got four, (I counted) compliments on my eye makeup πŸ™‚Β  Sure that in itself is a win! Let me know what you think. Will you be running out to buy the Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions? Or is it a miss?

Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions PaletteYes, I caved. I bought another one. I wanted both of the new releases, I won’t lie, but I settled on the Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions Palette. We also have the Gemstone Obsessions Palette to choose from now too. This is very much a fun, specific look palette, that you would probably have to incorporate another palette with to achieve a look. Well I know I would have too anyways, so I went with the safer option πŸ™‚

irish beauty blog

I already have reviews of the Mauve Obsessions and the Smokey Obsessions here and here if you fancy continuing your Huda Beauty journey after reading this one of course. That’ll give you an idea of the consistency of those palettes too, as the formula does change slightly from colour to colour.huda beauty ireland

The Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions Palette is super super red, orange and coral toned. Shock horror I know πŸ™‚Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions Palette

There’s nine shades in total, just like all the palettes in this ever growing collection. Huda say it’s a slim line edit of their sought after orange, red and yellow toned hues. So if you don’t want to splurge on the Desert Dusk Palette, (like me), it could definitely be one to look into closer. They have them in store in the Brown Thomas Beauty Lounge if you want to swatch before you shop. The palettes are small, but I think the shadows are a decent size within them considering how compact they are. The shadows are extremely pigmented too, so the colour goes a hell of a long way.beauty blog ireland

The palette contains seven matte shades, with two metallics.

irish beauty blogger

I personally think the Huda metallics apply best with a finger tip or a damp brush. To be fair, I could say that about most metallic shadows if you want to get them super opaque on the eyelid. There’s no base shade in this palette, but there is lots of matte crease and transition shades to choose from, so I can forgive it for that. The mattes apply really nicely to the lid too.

You can buy the Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions Palette online now here. I picked mine up for €28 from Brown Thomas. What do you reckon? Will you be adding it to your lust list? I’ll definitely be doing a look with it very soon so keep an eye out for that.
