Lush treated us bloggers and the press to an up close look at what they have in store (literally ha) for Winter and Christmas 2015. As a big Lush fan, I was very excited to see so many new and well known products back for the festive season. They have gift sets galore to suit any tastes and budget, and of course most of the products can be bought individually too.

We were very kindly gifted the fabulous Lush Winter Wonderland Gift Set, and so I wanted to show you what is inside, in case it’s something you would want on your Christmas list.

Lush Winter Wonderland 2015There are some old faves and some newbies up for grabs in this pretty huge gift box.

lush bath bomb Snow Angel Bath Melt is in there. It contains cocoa butter and leaves your bath glittery.

beauty bloggerWe have Yog Nog Bath Bomb. This is a cinder toffee soak with spicy clove and ylang ylang.

beauty blogThe Ceridwen’s Cauldron Bath Melt looks really interesting. This plops into the bath as is and melts. It has sandalwood oil, oats and wildflower inside.

beauty blogger irelandThe Candy Mountain Bubble Bar has sparkles and fair trade vanilla to bubble up your bath with.

irish makeup and beauty blogThe Peeping Santa Bubble Bar looks funny right? This has shea butter and strawberry inside, so great for us with a sweet tooth.

irishbeautyblogThe Yoga Bath Bomb is great for relaxing with. It contains olibanum and ho wood.

irish beauty blogYou can reuse this cutie. This is The Magic Of Christmas Bubble Bar. It has clove and almond in it. You can just sweep it across the water a few times and then put it somewhere safe to use again.

lush christmas 2015I get a Holly Golightly Bubble Bar every year from Lush. I think it just screams Christmas, and it smells like it too πŸ™‚

irish blogOf course the Lush Winter Wonderland has a Frozen Bath Bomb this year. It contains grapefruit and Tunisian Neroli. Yum yum.

beauty blog beautynookThis is the Stardust Bath Bomb. It has vanilla and Rosewood in it.

irish beauty blog beautynookCinders is a lush classic. It smells like cinnamon.

top beauty blogI saw this Luxury Lush Pud Bath Bomb (mouthful)Β  in action when we were in Lush. It dissolves into the bath just how it looks in the bomb it’s really cool. It also contains lavender so good for a before bed time bath.

top irish beauty blogMy Father Christmas Bath Bomb got a bit bashed by its friends inside the box. He will turn your bath green though and smells like candy floss.

lifestyle blogI think bubble bars are where you get the most bang for your buck in Lush. You can just break pieces off and get as many uses out of them as you want. This is the Bar Humbug Bubble Bar. It contains Liquorice, not my favourite scent, but if you love DollyMix this one is for you πŸ™‚

irish beauty bloggerThe Lord of Misrule Bath bomb makes your bath wine coloured, so you could drink wine while you were having your bath and you wouldn’t even noticed if you spilled!

Lush Christmas 2015 (6)makeup and beauty blogMy So White Bath Bomb didn’t make it in one piece, but at least it means I can show you what it looks like inside. It contains bergamot and rose…yummy!

irish bbloggerGolden Wonder is my all time favourite bath bomb from Lush. It has lime oil in it, so it smells really zesty and when it melts away it leaves little stars in your bath!

irish beauty bloggerThe Butterbear Bath Bomb is great for dry skin, it has cocoa butter in it like the Snow Angel…I might actually use these together for an extra hydrating bath time!

bbloggerThe Comforter Bubble Bar is probably my favourite out of all the Lush bubble bars and is one I purchase all the time. It’s really sweet but not in a sickly way. It contains cassis and cypress oil.

beauty blog irelandThe Twilight Bath Bomb is the last on the list. As you would assume by the name and the look of this bath bomb, this is another good bath time bomb. It contains lavender and tonka and according to Lush makes your bath look like the night sky…we’ll see about that πŸ™‚

The Lush Winter Wonderland will cost you €117.50, it is one of the priciest gift sets instore. I think if you are wanting to buy a hardcore Lush fan (or yourself) a really special gift this is pretty perfect though.

Any of your Lush faves in here? Any you fancy trying? Let me know πŸ™‚

Urban Decay Ten 24 7 Glide On Pencil Set

I bought this set completely on a whim when I was late night “window” shopping on Debenhams. They had 10% off and I had a fiver on my store card burning a hole in my purse…how could I resist? πŸ™‚

This is the Urban Decay Ten 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil Set, it’s a bit of a mouthful I know. I am a big fan of Urban Decay I went through a phase of collecting their palettes, I have kinda put a stop to that…for now. Their eye pencils are some of the best I have used to date so when I saw this and the colour range, I just knew it had to be mine.

This is just fresh from the couriers hands and I have already fallen in love with it, so I just had to swatch them and show you the loveliness the box contains.

First up, you get a full sizedΒ  “Perversion” pencil.

Urban Decay PerversionPerversion

This is a gorgeous soft matte black pencil.

Then the set contains 9 smaller pencils (they are more than half the size of Perversion though so don’t let the size put you off, it’s pretty decent).

The second pencil is “Voodoo”.

Urban Decay VodooVoodoo

This is a bright purple with some shimmer running through it.

Third up we have “Stargazer”.

Urban Decay StargazerStargazer

This a very yellow shimmery gold pencil. I have never owned a colour quite like it.

Fourth, is “Mugshot”Urban Decay Mugshot

Mugshot

This is a very wearable shimmery bronzed colour.

Fifth up we have “Smokeout”

Urban Decay SmokeoutSmokeout

This is a blackened brown shade. I think it will be perfect for creating a dark smokey eye, probably why they named it Smokeout :).

Sixth in the line up is “Gonzo”.

Urban Decay GonzoGonzo

I think this is going to be one of my favourites of the set. I already own “Electric” from Urban Decay which is a very similar colour, bit “Gonzo” is so much brighter.

Seventh is “Faint”.

Urban Decay FaintFaint

This is a classic matte taupe colour, it will be a fab base for a brown look.

Eighth is “Vacancy”.

Urban Decay VacancyVacancy

This a greener version of “Gonzo”. This will be a waterline colour for me I’m sure.

Ninth is “Moonspoon”.

Urban Decay MoonspoonMoonspoon

This is a grey shimmery colour with so many uses. Liner, lid and waterline alike I think.

And then finally number ten “Glitter Rock”.

Urban Decay Glitter RockGlitter Rock

A lovely shimmery warm toned brown, you cannot go wrong with a colour like this in your collection.

As well as the liners, you also get a pencil sharpener in this set, very handy indeed!

Urban Decay SharpenerUrban Decay

On a side note, this sharpener fits NYX Jumbo pencils in it…just a bit of added information for you πŸ™‚

I am so happy I bought this set. The colours are all super pigmented creamy, blendable and once set long lasting. I am a huge makeup fan so these are being added to an already pretty full collection of eye liner pencils, but I can see myself getting alot of use out of them.

If you are only getting into makeup and starting a collection, these would be a great investment too as this sets contains all the colours you would need to get you going. Overall a great buy and a great one to add to the Christmas list πŸ™‚ It will set you back €40, but keep an eye out for discounts and discount codes, you might get a bargain, I did!

As always, thanks for reading, it means the absolute world.

Selection of Pigments

Pigments? Scary…they are a bit I must admit, but they are so pretty! I haven’t many of them, but I wanted to share some of the ones I have accumulated over time. When alot of us think of pigments, we think of Mac, I know I do anyway. I cannot justify the money they ask for them, even if they are beautiful. So here are some more purse friendly ones and in my opinion just as pretty. There is one high end one thrown in for good luck, just because I couldn’t resist showing it off, hope you don’t mind πŸ™‚

makeup brushes

Pigments are fab to use just like shadows packed onto the lid with a flat stiff brush, as a light wash over shadows for a touch of sparkle or foiled onto the lid with some sort of mixing medium ie Mac Fix Plus, Inglot’s Duraline or even eye drops can be used to intensify the metal sheen or colour of the pigment.

I have some in my collection from Barry M which are readily available from Boots and Superdrug and come in all sorts of colours and finishes. They are priced at 5.99Euro. The others are from an American brand called Makeup Geek. Makeup Geek is owned by Marlena who is firstly a makeup artist. She started initially as a Youtuber and now has her own makeup line which is pretty fab. I own some her eyeshadows, lipsticks and of course pigments. The pigments are priced at 6.99 dollars from the website. Their shipping is pretty reasonable too.

First up is Barry M’s pigment in Number 4:

Barry M DazzleDust No 4No 4No 4

This is a really pretty silver pigment. It’s more of a chunky formula with silver glitter particles. I would definitely use a mixing medium like Mac’s Fix plus to adhere this to the eyelid as it will fall down and create a mess. I like to use this on my lower lash line for a pop of something extra. I wet a synthetic eyeliner brush with some fix plus and add the glitter carefully. I usually do this before I do my face makeup to ensure I only get glitter where I want it πŸ™‚

Mac Fix Plus

Next is probably one of my very favourites. This is Afterglow by Makeup Geek:

Afterglow Makeup GeekAfterglowAfterglow

It is a gorgeous shimmery champagne colour. This is a really finely milled pigment which is fab all over the lid for an everyday eye look, or as a pop of lightness in the middle of a smoky eye. It’s fab as an inner corner highlight also. A great all round colour I think.

Barry M’s No 98 is next:

Barry M Dazzledust No 98No 98No 98

This pigment has a black/blue base with really fine blue glitter through it. Perfect for an intense navy smoky look which looks great on a brown, green or hazel eyes. I rock this alot. I use a navy cream shadow underneath it and pack this on over the top. Love it πŸ™‚

Utopia By Makeup Geek is next:

Makeup Geek UtopiaUtopiaUtopia

Utopia is another chunkier pigment. In order to get the best pay off, I suggest again wetting the brush you use and foil the pigment onto the lid. You then get a fab dark brown base with gold glitter through it. This is a fab lid colour.

Barry M’s No 27 pigment is next:

Barry M no 27 DazzledustNo 27No 27

This is a lovely white pigment with a soft fleck of golden glitter running through it. I love this as an extreme inner corner highlight (for special occasions πŸ˜› ). It is fab over darker shadows to add a sheen or as a gradient colour on the inner lid into a darker shade.

Here I have Makeup Geek’s shade in Insomnia:

Makeup Geek Pigment InsomniaInsomniaInsomnia

This a really unusual shade. It is brown with green running through it, a two tone shade. It is really pigmented and blends very easily. This would be great for someone who isn’t great at blending colours as it is pretty much two shades in one, so it looks like you’ve spent loads of time adding different colours when you didn’t πŸ™‚

The last on is Illamasqua’s Beguile:

Beguileillamsqua Pigment in BeguileBeguile

This is the perfect going out glitter. I really couldn’t get a picture to do it justice. It’s a Barbie sparkle for all us grown ups out there. It’s fab over every kind of shadow or creams to bring a bit of glitter to your look. I love using this in the middle of my lid with a dark or light eye. The light catches it beautifully.

So there you have it, some pretty pigments. They can be underrated sometimes. I know I can leave them in a drawer and forget about them. They’re not as scary as you think though I promise, just don’t let it fall on the floor πŸ˜›

Thanks for reading.
