Yep, we’re over half way through the year, no need to panic, although I am kind of! Another month down means a monthly favourites round up. So here is my July favourites in all of their glory ๐Ÿ™‚

irish beauty blog

My July favourites for 2018 consist of a good mix of products and rambles, if I do say so myself.

irish beauty blogger

For some reason, when it comes to these roundups, I always end up talking a lot of beauty nonsense, so I apologise in advance ๐Ÿ™‚

top irish beauty blog

As always I’ll try link everything I talk about so you can have a gander if you so choose. Please do check out the video above or here though. I go into more detail and hopefully explain in not too many rambles why everything individually made it into my July favourites.

Missoma initial hammered disc and small bobble necklace. It’s free to get them engraved.

My little star huggie earrings are from Betty & Biddy and the second pair is from Ali Express.

Lancรดme Le Vie Le Belle Eclat. I’ve linked the Eau de Parfum, it’s always a much better investment I think. I got sent the Eau de Toilette and it’s still really nice though. As I mention, I am loving layering with other more deeper scents to ‘Summer’ them up a bit ๐Ÿ™‚

July Favourites

Super Facialist Rose Hydrate Miracle Makeover Facial Oil is the next product in my July favourites. You can have a closer look at this here.

July Favourites

An oldie, but a rejuvenated goodie is my second last favourite, the Maybelline The Eraser Eye in Ivory. They have released more shades in the range now which is brilliant. It is good to note though the shade Ivory is the lightest. Perfect for my skin, but definitely swatch is you’re lighter than me.

My last fave for July is the Pixi Glow-y Gossamar Duo in Subtle Sunrise. I have not shut up about this, I am so sorry ๐Ÿ™‚

And that’s it. Let me know what you’ve been loving. Thanks as always and hope you have an awesome August.

This is my honest everyday Summer Makeup look! I tried to keep it as real as possible and just edited out my ‘ums’ and any long winded techniques. My brows take forever ๐Ÿ™‚

everyday summer makeup lookeveryday summer makeup look

It’s nothing fancy or ground breaking, but this is generally what I do on a daily basis if I’m wearing makeup. The eye look might change a bit if I’m feeling fancier or lazier. The lip colour might change if I’m feeling a bold or bright lip, but the base tends to not really. I’ve found what works for my skin in the heat, so I don’t want to jinx it too much if I’m going out and about. If I know I’m staying close to home, then I can experiment and trial new products ๐Ÿ™‚

irish beauty blog

It all depends on what you feel most comfortable with. For me, brows and a bit of eyeshadow definition is a must. Eyeliner is not necessary so it’s not something I do day to day. Once I have a wash of colour on my lids I am happy enough. The main components of my everyday Summer makeup look, I’ve spoken about a lot before. I think this is an important aspect of this video though. You know I like these products and above all, you know I trust them.irish beauty blogger

I won’t get into everything, but some of the main products I used are in my June Favourites here. I have a review the Urban Decay Primer here, and of both the foundations I used here and here. Mac Springsheen blush has been a favourite for literally years and the highlighter from Pixi is a new, but very loved favourite.top irish beauty blog

And that is my ‘errand running’ everyday Summer makeup. If you watched the video, you’ll get the joke ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for tuning it. Tell me, what are some of your Summer makeup essentials?

I haven’t done a round up like this in a while. So, here is five of my current budget friendly makeup favourites.

Current Budget Friendly Makeup Favourites

I am not a makeup snob by any means. If a product is good, it’s good, regardless of the price ๐Ÿ™‚

Current Budget Friendly Makeup Favourites

My first budget friendly makeup pick of the minute is the very talked about Coverage Foundation from The Ordinary.

beauty blog ireland

I harped on about this here in a dedicated blogpost, so I won’t go into too much detail. But, I am a big fan. I always judge a foundation on whether I would pick it up to wear for a night out or going out all day. This is definitely one I reach for alot. I love the coverage, the finish and the longevity. Oh and may I add, the price point too!

My second choice will come as no surprise either (sorry ha!). The Maybelline Eraser Eye in the shade ‘Brightener’.

irish beauty site

I like both of the colour correcting shades (details on both of them here). I think I just reach for the Brightener more. I feel like I can get away with it just on it’s own. Whereas the ‘Neutralizer’ leaves a bit of a yellow hue to the skin. I am delighted these shades are available in Ireland now, because for me, the ‘Light’ concealer version, just wasn’t light enough. These work so much better.

My third budget friendly makeup favourite is another Maybelline Product. This is their Master Fix Setting & Perfecting Loose Powder.

irish beauty blogger

This is actually Maybelline’s first loose setting powder. It is super finely milled and applies really lightly and smoothly onto the skin.

top irish beauty blogger

It’s really mattifying, so I usually apply a liberal layer of it and then use a setting spray over top to lift the skin a bit. It absorbs oils really well though and definitely helps with the longevity of your makeup. It is a more pricey ‘affordable product’ at โ‚ฌ13.79 from Boots here.

Number four is the Catrice Metallic Liquid Liner in 010 ‘Bronze Lee’. I bloody love that name ๐Ÿ™‚

beauty blog irelandbeauty blogger ireland

You can see it in action is a previous blogpost here. These Metallic liners come in a couple of different shades, I believe. I need to find the others to add to my collection. I really like the formula and the finish. The shade is less intimidating than black or even dark brown. And I can generally create a flick with the applicator. When I can say that you know a liquid liner is half good. Feline flicks are not my forte at all.

Last on my budget friendly makeup roundup is the Maybelline Brow Artist Plumper.

top irish beauty blog

I am way late to the party with this one. I don’t know why I never tried it up until now. I have the shade Medium/Dark. I like that the spooley isn’t very tightly bound.

top beauty blogdublin beauty blog

It means it doesn’t hold onto alot of product. I can find with some coloured brow gels, it can end up all over your skin. This doesn’t leave your eyebrows feeling crispy either. It just adds a bit of a tint with some added fibers for fluffiness. It’s a really decent tinted brow gel. It costs โ‚ฌ8.49 from Boots here.

And that’s my five current picks! Things that are actually in rotation on my makeup desk at the moment, that hopefully won’t break the bank ๐Ÿ™‚

More Maybelline chat ๐Ÿ™‚ I reviewed the new colours of the Eraser Eye Concealers here. Now, I am chatting and applying some of the new products out for Summer 2017!

top irish beauty blogger

Maybelline, as a brand for me can be very much hit or miss. I am not always a fan of the releases, so some of the products end up in bags for friends or for charity. Obviously, if I hate something enough I will tell you why and if I love it I will shout it from the rooftops too! But if something is just ‘meh’, it doesn’t always get a second look.

maybelline new products

I have some of the new Maybelline Summer releases and I thought I would put them altogether and do a makeup look with the goodies I own. Some are PR samples, some I bought myself. Nothing majorly fancy or groundbreaking. But, it just means you get to see some of them in action on my chubby little face , and I get to give initial impressions ๐Ÿ™‚

irish beauty blog

I will list everything I used below, in case anything particular takes your fancy and you want to investigate it further:

  • I have already linked the new Eraser Eyes in Neutralizer and Brightener above.
  • Master Blush Color & Highlight Kit. Available on the Boots website here.
  • Master Ink Waterproof Liquid Liner. Available here.
  • The Colossal Big Shot Mascara. Available here.
  • Great Lash Waterproof. On the Boots website here.
  • Master Fix Setting & Perfecting Loose Powder. Boots online have it here.
  • Vivid Hot Lacquers. Available here.

maybelline makeup

I did use some other Maybelline and non Maybelline products just because I had them and I didn’t have a whole face of newness in my stash. As always, you can click the video above to watch and go directly to my YouTube channel here to check it out.

I think my stand out favourites are the loose powder and the concealers. The Colossal mascara is pretty damn good too though!

Maybelline Eraser Eye fans here in Ireland have been waiting way too long for these to launch!

irish beauty blogger

The Maybelline Eraser Eye Neutralizer and Brightener Concealers are now available in Boots and Superdrug. I also spotted the Brightener one in Mc Cabes Pharmacy on my hunt for them too!

Maybelline Eraser Eye

It took me a long time to warm to the original. I realise now it was because the lightest colour wasn’t light enough for my skin tone.

Maybelline Eraser Eye Neutralizer

The consistency and coverage is on point though! I also like the sponge tipped applicator, I know it’s not for everyone. These are not only meant to conceal. They’re also meant to treat the under eye area too and help with puffiness.

Maybelline Eraser Eye Brightener

Both of these have been out in the States for literally years, I just didn’t think they were going to release them on these shores. But, low and behold they crept onto our Maybelline stands and I for one am very happy about it. If you follow me on Snapchat (shameless plug, I’m just Beautynook over there), you’ll know I went to three different Boots to source both of the colours! That is makeup dedication right there. Shout out to John for chauffeuring me around ๐Ÿ™‚

The first new shade on stands is a Neutralizer.

beauty blog ireland

This as the name would suggest is for neutralizing any discolouration you might have under the eyes.

beauty blogger ireland
top irish beauty blog

It has a yellow undertone to cancel darkness, but is also quite light to brighten things up too.

The second on is a Brightener.

irish beauty site

This, like the Neutralizer is quite light in colour with more of a pink tone.

top irish beauty website
top irish beauty blogger

This is meant to conceal but also bring light to the undereye and by doing that make you look more awake.

I’ve actually been using both of these together, just because I have them though. I wouldn’t suggest you need both of them in your life. Like the normal Maybelline Eraser Eye, they have a really light consistency so you can build up the coverage without the product caking up under the eyes. The formula sets really quickly so you have to work fast as you blend. I’ve been using the Neutralizer first to counteract darkness. Then, adding the Brightener over top for some extra coverage and lightness.

top beauty blog ireland

The new Maybelline Eraser Eye shades are available in stores and online now. Here is the Boots website link to them if you want to have a look. I picked mine up in Boots for โ‚ฌ13.79 a piece. I know Superdrug were doing a really good deal on them though if you are looking to sniff out a bargain ๐Ÿ™‚

Are you intrigued?
