Since Colourpop have begun shipping to Ireland, I have made three orders from their website. The shipping is pretty expensive, I know. They do free shipping every so often though and the products themselves are pretty cheap. I try to keep my orders below the tax threshold of โ‚ฌ25 which is a pain in the bum. But sure look I won’t complain ๐Ÿ™‚ I have four shadows in my collection at the moment, but I thought I could update this post as I add to my collection. So, here is my Colourpop eyeshadows, so far ๐Ÿ™‚

my colourpop eyeshadows

Three of them definitely fall into a similar colour wheel and then there’s a wild card in there for good measure.

my colourpop eyeshadows

Their powder products have the most unusual texture that I’ve spoken about before. The formula feels wet and spongy to the touch. They come in a screw top container so they don’t dry out.

colourpop eyeshadows

The four Colourpop eyeshadows I own are soft and pigmented. The metallic ones are my preferred texture and finish out of the bunch. You get the best application from all of them when you apply with your fingertips. You can apply with a brush, it just takes a bit more work and building up.

First up we have ‘LaLa’. This is a rose gold metallic shadow. It’s probably my favourite and most used out of all four I own.

My next favourite would be ‘Gameface’. This is a warm toned metallic bronze.

Third in my collection is ‘Elixir’, the only true matte of the bunch. It’s a warm terracotta colour.

Then last I have ‘Envy’. This was a really random choice for me. It’s a matte black with flecks of purple glitter running through it. Not an everyday pick, but I’m sure it will come in handy, someday ๐Ÿ™‚

And that’s all my Colourpop eyeshadows, for now ๐Ÿ™‚ You can shop all of their products on the website here.

I am in disbelief that it is in fact August. But, the calendar on my phone has told me it is, and I must obey the mighty iPhone. This means that it’s time to look back over the last month and pick out some of the things I have been using and loving throughout it. Here are my July Favourites for 2016 ๐Ÿ™‚

irish beauty blogger

They are all beauty related for July, there’s no curve balls ๐Ÿ™‚

July Favourites

Initially I had the L’Oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation included too (which I have a full review of here). Something happened with the footage though and I lost it, so apologies for that! But I have been loving it. It gives you high spf, light but build-able coverage and feels really nice on the skin. What’s not to like about that ๐Ÿ™‚

irish beauty blogJuly Favourites

The July Favourites that actually made it into the video include:

The Nyx Vivid Brights liquid liner in ‘Vivid Envy’. I did a look with this bad boy here if you fancy seeing it in action.

Colourpop Supershock eyeshadows in both ‘LaLa and ‘Game Face’. I have a Colourpop haul post with these in it here. Bloody love these!

The Scandal Queen Fairydrops mascara. This is new to me, but I had to add it in because I have been loving it! You can pick it up from Cult Beauty here and I will do a full review on it very soon ๐Ÿ™‚

And then finally I talk about the Klorane products I have been using and loving. They are a plant based hair care brand. They have been around for years and I had never tried anything from them until now!

If you want to watch the video directly from Youtube just click here, or you can just click on it above.

There you have it, my July Favourites for 2016. What have you been loving lately? Let me know.

This super simple Summer coloured liner look has been one of my go to makeup looks over the last couple of weeks.

Simple Summer Liner Look Nyx Vivid

There is really not a whole load going on on the eyes. It’s a little bit of definition in the crease, because I need it. A slick of this NYX Vivid Brights Liquid Liner in ‘Vivid Envy’, which I talked about in my recent NYX haul here.

irish beauty youtuber

I don’t find liquid liner the easiest to work with personally, but I think these fun light colours are a little bit more forgiving on the eyes. And, I do use a little shortcut to help the process a little bit too ๐Ÿ™‚

Simple Summer Coloured Liner Look

I just finished the look off with a light layer of pink lippie, some pink blush and a sweep of highlighter too. I also used a nude pencil in my waterline to open up my eyes a little bit more and make me look more awake.

This Simple Summer Coloured Liner Look. That’s what I decided to call it, catchy, right? ;p I think it makes a great day time look. It’s light on the products, but still pack a fun makeup punch.

These NYX Vivid Bright Liquid Liners come in array of shades. I got this one in Boots and now I have a real urge to buy more. I really love this makeup look because I still feel myself in it, even though it has a bit of an unusual twist ๐Ÿ™‚

Ok, I’ll stop rambling ๐Ÿ™‚ You can click on the video on the top of this post, to see how I apply my liner or you can head straight to my Youtube channel and watch it by clicking here.

As always, thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read and watch. It’s always much appreciated.

Let me know what you think ๐Ÿ™‚

Makeup Geek is finally available on Irish shores without customs. Wohoo! I am a huge Makeup Geek fan and have been since Marlena first started releasing makeup. I have some eyeshadow swatches here if you want a closer look at some of them and some of their awesome pigments swatched here too.

Since Makeup Geek is finally easier to get a hold of. You can purchase it from Beautybay I thought I would pull some of my shadows out and do a festive look with them. I went with green as I thought it would be a great choice coming up to Christmas and I really like green on my hazel eyes. It works on pretty much all eye colours though.

Make Geek Eyeshadows

As always I primed my lids and used Vanilla Bean all over my lid to set it.

Then I took Latte, a cool toned brown and used this to start defining my crease a little, with a fluffy brush.

Next I took the star of the show Envy.

makeupgeek irelandI took a flat brush and packed this on the moving part of my lid up to the crease.

irish beauty blog beautynookirish beauty bloggerThen blended out the edged with the brush I used to apply Latte.

I wanted to warm things up a bit so I took the shade Cocoa Bear.

For a little pop of lightness on the lid, I added some Appletini.

Makeup Geek Irish Beauty Blog (12)I just used my finger and put a little bit on the middle of my lid.

I used some more Vanilla Bean on a fluffy brush, on my brow bone to just lighten it a little more. Vanilla Bean has some shimmer running through it but it’s really light.

So now you look like you got punched in the face, don’t worry we can fix that ๐Ÿ™‚

To add some definition to the lash line, I took Makeup Geek’s black shade Corrupt.

beauty blogWith a bent liner brush, I did a thin line across the top lash line.

Now we can clean up the under eye, this part helps so much. Most times when you work with dark colours, you’ll get fall out and things can look so messy. I just used my foundation brush to clean up under my eyes.

top irish beauty blog beautynookConcealer time then, one of my favourite parts of makeup ๐Ÿ™‚

irishbeautyblog beautynook

I curled and added loads of mascara to my top lashes, then it’s time for the lower lash line.

I used Appletini first on a smudger brush just in the middle.

easy makeup tutorial beauty blogI then added envy to the inner and outer parts with the same brush and blended both colours together.

More mascara on the bottom lashes.

You could totally leave things like that then.

I wanted to add a bit more (as always). So I took Makeup Geek’s Shimma Shimma and added it onto my tear duct, blending it into the shadow on the inner corner of my eyes.

Lastly I took a black Kohl pencil. This is Urban Decay’s Perversion.

This went onto my upper and lower waterlines.

irish beauty blogtop irish beauty bloggereasy christmas makeupTo make the Kohl pencil last a bit longer I added a bit of Makeup Geek Corrupt over the top just to lock it into place…and then we’re done! I kept the rest of my makeup really simple and just added a brown nude lip colour.

There you have it, my take on a green smoky eye using some Makeup Geek shadows. Let me know what you think and hope you’re enjoying the Christmas countdown ๐Ÿ™‚

Makeup Geek Eyeshadows

My Makeup Geek Eyeshadows

The Makeup Geek brand is slowly and surely starting to become a more recognized brand around the world. As a makeup junkie I have known of Marlena (owner and creator of the brand) for a few years now as she started out as a blogger and YouTube makeup guru. I have already reviewed some of the pigments that she has created here and given some info on the brand so I won’t bore you with that again. But I will say I LOVE the pigments and would really recommend them if you are in the market.

So… onto the shadows. You can avail of them in pan form. They are priced $5.99 which is very reasonable and then the tax and delivery is pretty reasonable too. I keep all of mine together in Z Palettes. Mise Beauty in Dundalk have Z Palettes available from the store or online as do Makeup Geek themselves. These are magnetic palettes that you can place your pans in any way you wish. They come with magnets too if the item you want to put in them is not magnetic, so handy ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve made a few purchases off the Makeup Geek site and have gathered eye shadows from all ends of the colour and finish spectrum, so read on to see my collection (so far) swatched and named. I did not use a primer purposely to show the pigment and texture of the shadows on their own.

Phew….are you still with me? ๐Ÿ˜› That’s alot of scrolling I know. I wanted to show them individually though because sometimes when things are swatched together the camera doesn’t capture them enough.

As with all eyeshadow brands texture and finish vary from shadow to shadow. I can whole heartedly say Makeup Geek are doing a fantastic job though and for the price and amount of product you get in the pan these are absolutely brilliant and dare I say comparable to the almighty MAC! I use these shadows most days to make looks with just them or in corporation with bases and other shadows. They blend well, have great colour pay off and last on oily lidded me (with a primer of course). I think my fave so far if I had to pick would be Mermaid, Peach Smoothie, Bling and Burlesque.

Be sure to let me know if you have tried any Makeup Geek products. Aswell as shadows and pigments, they offer liners, blush brushes and lipsticks galore so they are building up quite the brand! I need to get my hands on more I know that for sure ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for sticking with me and if you buy anything after reading this post please let me know, it warms the cockles of my heart!

Gemma
