Clarins Summer Collection 2018

The Clarins Summer Collection for this year has been something I’ve been waiting with baited breath for. That sounds a bit dramatic I know, but there was one product in particular that I struck up a fancy with.

The theme is Sun kissed, hot Florida vibes. The packaging is adorned with flamingoes and palm trees to get us into the Summer mood 🙂

I have a cross section of all the products, except for two.

There is a limited edition bronzing version of their SOS Primer.

There is two shades to help warm up all complexions. They retail for €31.00.

There’s also limited edition shades of their Lip Comfort Oils. This one is in Blackberry.

These retail for €21.00.

The 4 Colour All In One Pen is back again! I have a post on the one from last Summer here.

This time around, the packaging much brighter to keep within the Miami vibes, as are the pencils themselves.

It comes with three eyeliners. A matte black, plum and bright turquoise green. As well as a bright pink lip liner too. I’ve definitely been getting the most use out of the green and pink, they go really well together. The pen retails for €36.00.

Next up in the Clarins Summer Collection run through is limited edition emerald green Supra Mascara.

I have to be honest opening this I was in awe, but trying to utilise it was another kettle of fish. For me personally it doesn’t add much colour to the lashes if any. I’ll keep trying with it though as I know people think highly of the Supra Mascara formula. This retails for €26.00.

The last product is my very favourite from the Clarins Summer Collection.

This is the limited edition Blush & Bronze Compact for 2018.

I have to be honest it was the cool flamingo and palm tree motif and packaging that made me lust after this initially. But, it’s actually a really nice natural bronzer to boot.

It has three matte shades within going from a matte bronze to a deeper tone. I tend to just swirl them altogether and apply them to the high points of my face and neck. Clarins say it contains skincare so can help protect the skin from pollutants too. This compact retails for €47.00.

Essence Autumn/Winter Collection.

I have here some of the new Essence Autumn/Winter releases for 2016/17.

It’s safe to say Essence have been kicking ass of late and are constantly upping their game with their releases. So, I thought I would bring you through some of the products that are going to be hitting stands soon in the Essence Autumn/Winter Collection.

I’ll start with some of the eye products.

We have ‘The Metals’ single eyeshadows.

These come in six colours. I have the shade ‘Frozen Toffee’ to show you here.

These will cost €3.10.

Eye contouring is playing a big part in the Essence Autumn/Winter Collection. We have the Contouring Eyeshadow Set.These are available in 4 colour combos. I have the shade 01 ‘Mauve Meets Marshmallows’ here.

They cost €3.10

There’s a Contouring Eye Pencil too. Essence say it can be used as a liner, eyeshadow or highlighter, and it’s available in two shades. One for darker skin tones, and there’s one for lighter which I have here. It’s called 01 ‘Caramel Meets Frosting’.

They cost €3.10.

There is six shades of the new Extreme Lasting Eye Pencil.

I have the colour 05 ‘Rockin’ Taupe’.

These are said to be waterproof and ultra longlasting. They cost €2.50.

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Duo Stylist Eyeliner Pen has a ball-shaped felt tip for creating dots and lines on the eyes.

It costs €3.10.

There is three new mascaras in the Essence Autumn/Winter Collection. I have two of them here to show you.

The Rock ‘n’ Roll XXXL Volume mascara that has long and short fibers within the formula.

And, the False Lashes Mascara Dramatic Volume Unlimited.

All three mascaras are priced at €3.50.

Up next we have lip products. There’s a bundle to choose from including lip balms and plumping lip glosses.

We also have Matt Matt Matt lipsticks.

These come in a total of seven colours. The shades I have here are 07 ‘Purple Power’. And, 02 ‘Perfect Match’.

These retail for €2.90, not bad at all!

Essence have also jumped on the matte lipgloss bandwagon with these Matt Matt Matt Longlasting Lipgloss.

There will be five colours in these. I have here 03 ‘Girl Of Today’. And, 01 ‘LA Vie Est Belle’.

They again cost €2.90.

There’s BB beauty balm Lipglosses that contain vitamin E and shea butter with a subtle hint of colour. There will be five shades in this range. I have 05 ‘Heartbreaker’.

The retail price for these is €2.50.

The final lip product I have is the Essence 2 in 1 lipstick & liner. These are also part of the Matt Matt Matt range and come in three colours. I have the shade 02 ‘Make Some Noise’ here.

You are supposed to be able to define your lip line with these aswell as apply full on colour. They cost €3.10.

The Essence Autumn/Winter Collection has all new face products included too.

There’s the Camouflage 2 in 1 makeup & concealer. This claims to offer long lasting high coverage and provide a matte, flawless finish.

This is the shade 10 ‘Ivory’, there is a total of three to choose from.

The price is €4.80.

Here we have the Get Picture Ready Long Lasting Compact Makeup.

You get a mirror and a sponge inside the compact and the cream to powder texture is meant to be great for on the go. It comes in four shades. This one is in 10 ‘Mat Ivory’. And, it will set you back €4.95.

We have a Get Picture Ready brightening concealer too. Essence say it has light reflecting pigments to help diminish under eye circles. You apply to product with the ball shaped sponge applicator. It comes in two shades. This one is 10 ‘Ivory’, and it costs €3.80.

We also have a Light Up Your Face Luminizer Palette with three highlight shades.

It costs €4.95.

There is three Satin Touch Blushes for Autumn/Winter. This is in the shade 10 ‘Satin Coral’.

These will cost €3.10.

Last but not least we have an abundance of new nail products.

I am a big of The Gel nail polishes so I’m delighted to see Essence adding to the shade range.

I believe these cost €1.99.

The nail care products range from €2.10-2.50 and even includes hand cream and nail stencils!

Nails

Rimmel Super Gel Top Coat

If you follow me on Snapchat (my username is Beautynook if you don’t, shameless plug), you’ll know I’ve been testing out the new Rimmel Super Gel Top Coat pretty vigorously.

I’ve used it about 5 times on top of different branded nail polish and base coats and I pretty much had the same outcome with them all. Boots describe it as “Rimmels first ever 2- step Super Gel nail polish for superior colour and shine that lasts for up to 14 days. Easy to apply, it dries like a regular nail polish, no UV lamps needed.”

It has the standard Rimmel nail polish packaging, which I am a fan of.

I love that the brush is quite large,flat and rounded at the tip. For me, this makes application easier.

Just to show you the process quickly:

Here’s my bare nails.

Here’s the base coat applied.

Two layers of nail polish.

I let the nail polish dry for a few minutes before applying the Rimmel Super Gel Top Coat.

You can see, it definitely adds a lovely glass like shine to your nails and really finishes them off. It’s easy enough to apply and doesn’t drag or move the nail polish underneath. It also dries reasonably quickly, which is a plus too! I painted my nails in the evening time, so the next morning, they were still looking good!

After the second full day of wear, you can see (especially on my pinkie finger), bubbles have started to form.

By the third full day, this had happened.

The nail polish on my little finger had completely come loose and just peeled off. Not ideal!

Overall, and after testing out the Rimmel Super Gel Top Coat on numerous occasions, I really can’t say it lasts as well as gel UV nail polish. I got pretty much 3/4 days before it started to crack and I was at the stage where I could just peel it off my nails (I do really enjoy doing that though) :). For me, I will use it because I have it, but I won’t be repurchasing it any time soon.

You can get the Rimmel Super Gel Top Coat from Boots in store or online here. It will set you back €7.99 so definitely not the cheapest version on the market at the minute.

Makeup Haul!

I did a teeny bit of shopping last weekend. I got a few bits so I thought I would combine them together and do a makeup haul in video form!

I do love watching Makeup Haul videos on Youtube so I am completely jumping on the bandwagon and doing my own 🙂

The denim skirt is a new arrival to Penneys I think. It comes in black and two shades of blue denim too and costs €14.

The Urban Decay Alice In Wonderland Palette costs €49 and you can buy instore in Debenhams as well as online here. It’s currently out of stock at the minute, perhaps I was wrong about the amount of stock they had in store :(.

There you have it my first video makeup haul! It made me realise I have to eliminate the word ‘so’ out of my vocabulary pronto…why do I keep saying it? ha!

Essence Cosmetics New SS16

Essence Cosmetics have hit the nail on the head with their launches for this Spring/Summer.

They have touched on so many of the makeup trends happening at the minute, and done their own spin on them. And as we know, with Essence Cosmetics, that means for a fraction of the price.

This blog post is just showing you what Essence Cosmetics has to offer for Spring and Summer of this year. I didn’t swatch any of the products which I would normally do and you’ll see why at the end 🙂

First up we have The Velvets eyeshadows, Silky Touch Blush and the Blush Ball.

These all come in an array of different shades.

The shades I have here are:

The Velvets eyeshadows cost €2.50

Velvet Touch Blush (not sure)

Blush Ball €3.80

Next up is some new concealing products.

We have the All I Need Concealer Palette and the Soft Touch Mousse Concealer.

The palette costs €4.40

The concealer €3.80.

The Superfine Eyeliner Waterproof Pen.

This will set you back €3.50.

Some new lip products.

The Glossy Kiss Lip Balms are €1.30

The Prettifying Lip Oils are €2.50.

I am in love with the Glossy Stick and the Velvet Stick Matt Lip Colour.

These are available in 5 colours a piece and retail for €2.50. This Velvet Stick Matt one in particular took my fancy. It’s in the shade Plum Perfect. I used it in my affordable Get Ready With Me Video here only last week 🙂

Essence have lots of new nail goodies for Spring/Summer 2016 including some nail care products.

These range from €2.30-€2.50.

And some new colours and finishes of their I Love Trends nail colours.

The Jellys and Metals cost €2.30

There are some new colours in the Gel Nail Polish line. I believe these cost under €2.

There’s a Forbidden Volume Mascara and a Forbidden Volume Top Coat (which I am loving, may I add).

The mascara is priced at €3.80

The top cost is €3.50

Essence Cosmetics have also added in some 2 in 1 eyeshadow and liner pencils to this collection. They come in a total of 6 shades both shimmery and matte.

These will set you back 3.50.

And that’s all the products I have to show you. There’s is other products in the new range like a new eyeshadow base, different liquid liners, eyebrow gel, a contouring palette, fixing powder even a fixing spray. And from what I can see, nothing will cost you more than a fiver!

Onto the fun part. The reason I didn’t swatch the products here is because I wanted too give some away to you.
