I’m always amazed at the difference when I see my before and after makeup shots. It’s not that I hate myself without makeup, I’ve somewhat come to terms with my lot. It will just never not be cool, the things you can achieve with makeup 🙂 I was going out for my brother’s birthday on Saturday. (If you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen). I turned the camera on and created this easy as always, gold smokey eye look.
I’ll try to list the most important products I used for this. Usually I take a photograph of them all for reference. But I was just kind of in the moment for this, so I didn’t take it too seriously, hope you don’t mind.
I spent the entirety of the video listening to my time capsule on Spotify. It’s mainly 90’s and 00’s hip hop and R n’ B That’s why there’s music over most of it 🙂 All I knew is, I wanted to create a gold smokey eye with a bit of glitter. I think I achieved that.
I used all Makeup Geek eyeshadows. They were just what I gravitated towards on the day. Tikki Hut and Gold Digger were the main components and I used the Penney PS Glitter Eyeshadow over top.
My brows never really go to plan when I film. I think it’s because day to day I stand at the mirror doing my makeup. When I film I sit down 🙂 But sure they were grand, just nothing to write home about.
And that is pretty much it for my gold smokey eye look and an obnoxious amount of pictures of myself ha. Click the video above or here to see the whole thing in action. And let me know what you think.
I did this a couple of years ago in a different format. It went down pretty well. So I thought I would do it again. This year we’re definitely dialling it back for Christmas. Well as much as we can, I love buying presents. So whether you’re on a budget, want to pick up a token gift, or even something for yourself. Here is my list of beauty stocking fillers for 2018.
I picked from websites that are easy for us to order from in Ireland and that generally have decent discounts and sales on product too. I know everyone has different budgets as well, so I tried to cater to all, and to the skincare and makeup lovers in your life.
I’ll go in shop order to make things hopefully a little cohesive. Let’s start with beauty stocking fillers from Cloud 10 Beauty.
You get two teeny pillow sprays and a stress check roller ball.
I got carried away on Cult Beauty, I must admit, so bare with me 🙂
This Peter Thomas Roth Meet You Mask Set looks awesome and it’s only £20.50. Sorry Cult Beauty don’t covert to euro, this is good for our exchange rate though!
I’ve never tried this brand and have always wanted too. It’s not the most affordable so I thought this would be a great way to dip a toe or two in and give it a go.
It contains 4 Beauty Blenders and 4 solid cleansers to keep them clean.
I got the original Zoeva Plaisir Box a couple of years back from John and I bloody love it. This is a mini eyeshadow palette version and it retails for £31 so thought it was good beauty stocking filler material.
It contains three small but mighty eyeshadow palettes, and the display box is gorge too.
I actually nearly pulled the trigger on this Urban Decay Starfire Heavy Metal Trio in store yesterday. The only thing that stopped me is that it contains the infamous Midnight Cowboy liner and I already own it.
These retail for 20 quid a piece. To buy them as a set is €46.
It’s that time of the year again. Time for black Friday deals, and Cyber Monday to boot. I’m more of a Cyber Monday gal myself. I don’t tend to bother with the crowds 🙂
As a disclaimer, I will just say. You are under no obligation to buy any black Friday deals. I am doing this just because as a blogger I get sent a lot of the codes, so it’s easy enough to put them in one place. And also to be completely transparent, some of the links I will share are affiliate links. You pay no more using an affiliate link. All it means is that if you click on my link and choose to buy something, I make a minuscule commission.
Anyway, let’s get onto the black Friday deals. I’ll insert the ones I have already and then update this post as often as I can with more codes/links and cyber Monday deals too.
Hand on heart, these new PS Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow from Penneys aka Primark have been one of the most asked about beauty products by you lot on social media. I put this picture up on my Instagram.
And excuse my French, but you all lost your shit about them and wanted to know EVERYTHING. Well here I am with all the deets on these sparkly lovelies 🙂
The PS Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow from what I know is a fairly new launch from Penneys. I had seen a picture online of the packaging and then the hunt began. My mammy actually managed to pick one up before I did, so the darkest shade here is courtesy of her. (Thanks Kay 🙂 )
There are four shades in the range, at this moment in time, that could change. And yes, let’s us address the elephant in the room. They are very much like the infamous Stila Magnificent Metals! And also very much like the Pixi Liquid Fairy Lights Eyeshadows too! I can say that confidently as I am a makeup addict and own all three formulas to compare 🙂
There is a couple of differences when it comes to the PS Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow. One major one is the price. These bad boys will set you back €4 for a 4.5ml tube. Another thing to note is that the packaging is a little bit more flimsy. I would normally be here to give you pros and cons and compare the high end with the cheaper alternative. But I have to say the formula overall is super similar. In theory anyways, I cannot comment on the ingredients unfortunately.
Like the Stila eyeshadows, the formula is differs depending on the colour. The lighter two in my humble opinion are more glitter toppers. Here is the gold one in action on top of gold eyeshadow.
Whereas the two darker shades are more opaque in colour and can built up to use on their own. They do dry down pretty well. I’ve used the rose gold shade on it’s own on the lid with primer, and it lasted well.
Here are all four shades swatched on my arm without primer. From left to right we have Glitz, Iced, Rose Gold and Blackice.
I literally cannot say anything bad about the PS Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow. They do the job and they do it well for a ridiculously affordable price. I am super impressed. Have you tried any of the shades yet?
My lovely mate Cherry Sue and I were in BT perusing the Mac Christmas ranges. She decided to treat herself to the gold Mac Shiny Pretty Things Party Favours. But, she also very kindly picked me one up too. For no reason other than she’s sound. And yes, I cried, so thanks Sue 🙂
Mac know how to do Christmas. And this year is no different. Yes, I said the C word. Halloween is over, it’s officially the festive season. Get your garlands out 🙂
A full sized Mac pigment and glitter is €22 and I feel like although they’re awesome, you’ll never get through an entire pot in a lifetime. Unless you are hardcore or a makeup artist. So I love that they’re doing minis now. The minis on their own are €12. The Mac Shiny Pretty Things Party Favours in gold and pink are €30, so you make a decent saving. There are four pots per pack. Try saying that really fast.
You get two pigments and two glitters within the pack. I ripped mine open quick smart when I got it, so I just have a stock photo here for reference.
From left to right we have: English Gilt (pigment), Gold (glitter), Copper (glitter), Shiny Time (pigment).
I applied the pigments dry with a flat brush. I did used some setting spray with the glitters, just to adhere them to the skin.
I will 100% be showing you these in action on my eyeballs over on Instagram over the coming weeks, so pop over there if you want to see that. Are you going to pick anything up from the Christmas range? I think there’s a lot of great beauty lover present ideas within it for sure.

I’ve done it! I know it’s a controversial kind of post, but I love having a nose, so here’s my offering of ‘What I Got For Christmas’ 2017. We didn’t go to mad on pressies this year, but I did get some lovely bits and though I would chat through some of them 🙂
I’ll list some of the main things in case anything takes your fancy or you want to add anything to your list for next year.
John got me the L’Oréal Steampod. He bought it directly from Peter Mark in one of the salons. But you can find it online here.
My red lipstick for this season was the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick in 56 Rouge Charnel. You can get in from Debenhams online here.
My very fancy lip balm is the infamous ByTerry Baume De Rose. He picked it up from Spacenk in store, but it’s online here if you want a closer look.
My future Fenty purchases will be from Harvey Nicks in store, but they also sell online here. You just can’t use gift cards on their website which is a bit of a pain.
Here is the candle I chat about close up. It’s a Malin + Goetz Dark Rum candle and John picked it up from Spacenk here.
My Chanel Mademoiselle Body Oil is from Brown Thomas here.
The Casio watch is from Asos. It’s not there anymore unfortunately. However they do have a a yellow gold one (which I want now as well), here. The bracelet is from TK Maxx so I can’t link it.
Anything else, just holler 🙂 The full video is over on my YouTube channel here.
So, I’ve told you what I got for Christmas this year. It was a really nice chilled affair. I ate and drank loads and I’m still recovering. Now you tell me, what did you get?
Happy 2018. Hope it brings loads of lovely happy memories.
