I actually really enjoyed making this video. I haven’t done a makeup ‘tutorial’ type one in a while. They take a lot of work and to be honest not many people watch them. I always have to tell myself though, I make videos more because I enjoy creating them. If people watch them, great, if not, I’ve hopefully learned something from the experience. This is very much a mauve eye makeup look. Actually the lips are mauve too. So, it’s just a mauve look ๐Ÿ™‚

Mauve Eye Makeup LookI used the very talked about Huda Beauty Mauve Obsessions palette to create my mauve eye. I’ve utilised this palette a hell of a lot since I picked it up! I have a blogpost on it here and I do give you a quick review in the video, so I won’t go in to major details quality wise in this post.

Huda Beauty Mauve Obsessions Palette

I think it’s fair to say if you’re not a mauve, or pink toned shadow fan, stay well clear. For me, these shades ( I think), work well, so I’ve been enjoying experimenting with it. The last few times I’ve used it, I’ve shared pics on Instagram, and I’ve always gottenย  such lovely feedback. So, this video is for your lovely selves who ended up picking it up, or might have it in a drawer needing an outing ๐Ÿ™‚

Mauve Eye Makeup Look Huda BeautyI went full on and finished the mauve eye look off with a mauve lip too. I have so many mauve lippies in slightly different shades and finishes, it’s definitely my go to colour. Everything else is pretty simple and if you want to know any of the other products I used, head over to my latest Get Ready With Me YouTube video here.

Let me know what you think and let me know if you picked up the Mauve Obsessions Palette, I know it’s kind of a marmite one ๐Ÿ™‚

My first get ready with me for 2018! You know I love these videos myself, I love zoning out and just watching the makeup take shape. This makeup look is one I did to go out for dinner.

I had some new products I wanted to use and I wanted to look put together but not too dolled up, if that makes sense?irish beauty youtuber

Now of course that’s up for interpretation. You could look at this makeup look and think you could never in a million years put this much makeup on.

Primer: Fenty Beauty Instant Retouch Primer all over and the LA Girl Pro Prep Smoothing Face Primer on the T Zone for extra …priming ๐Ÿ™‚

Foundation: Estรฉe Lauder Double Wear Nude Foundation. (Review here), mixed with the LA Girl HD Foundation. Completely unnecessary to mix foundations, it’s just something I like to do to change up colour, coverage, longevity, depending on the scenario.
Eyebrows: LA Girl Shady Slim Brow Pencil. Freedom Brow Powder Duo. Rimmel Lasting Finish Concealer, I used this on my face where I needed extra coverage too. Benefit Gimme Browย for a bit of added textureย  and then Benefit 24 HR Brow Setterย to set them all in place.irish beauty blogger

Eyes: Zoeva Matte Eyeshadow Fix. theBalm Meet Matt(e) Shmaker I did a blogpost about this hereย the eyeliner used on the upper lash line is in this post too, along with the Mary-Dew Manizer highlight. I used that in the inner corners of my eyes and on my cheekbones. The main eyeshadow palette used was the Huda Beauty Smokey Obsessions.ย The Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen in Rose Glow was used in the waterline. To finish I added a tiny bit of the Pixi Liquid Fairy Lights in Crystalline over the top of everything. Mascaras used were the Catrice Lashes To Kill Pro and Mac Extended Play.

The rest of the face consisted of: Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. Isa Dora Blotting Powder. Max Factor Creme Bronzer. La Girl Just Blushing blush in Just Peachy. theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer highlighter and then the Too Faced Hangover Setting Spray.

Finally, lips were the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Pencil in Pillow Talk with the Fenty Gloss Bomb over top.

Ok, writing it out, it’s a hell of a lot of product to use in one makeup look I know, but I do go a bit extra with things. Not all steps are necessary ๐Ÿ™‚

catrice cosmetics irelandWhen it comes to mascara I am definitely no brand snob! Generally speaking (although of course there are some exceptions), more affordable brands are where it’s at! If you’ve been around these parts before, you know I tend to favour a waterproof formula. No hate on non waterproof, just for what my lashes need the waterproof variety seems to cut the mustard more. I have straight lashes, that need to be curled and given some help with length and volume. Yes, my lashes are super boring. Catrice Cosmetics, do some of my favourite formulas. Their Glam & Doll WP is always in my makeup drawer. I did a post on it so many years ago here if you fancy checking it out and cringing all at the same time ๐Ÿ™‚ With their new Spring/Summer releases for this year came a new mascara formula. Say hello to theย Catrice Lashes To Kill Pro Mascara.Catrice Lashes To Kill Pro Mascara

This comes in waterproof and non waterproof so you’re covered whatever your poison. I of course have been trialling the WP version so that’s the one I am going to show you in action. I gave my mam the standard formula one to road test though and she loves it. She’s already bought a back up!beauty blog ireland

The Catrice Lashes To Kill Pro Mascara comes with quite a large bristled spoolie. This applicator has quashed my logic that a plastic more narrow spoolie just works better for my lashes. I thought that for the longest time. The larger wand did take a bit of getting used to, but now I really like it and don’t poke myself in the eye….anymore ๐Ÿ™‚irish beauty blogirish beauty blogger

The formula is on the money for me. It holds a curl (after I use a eyelash curlers, because I have too). It gives decent length and a decent amount of volume too. I like a mascara to clump a little, especially on the tips of my lashes, to give the illusion of more. The Catrice Lashes To Kill Pro Mascara does that for me without looking spidery. It has yet to flake or transfer on me either, although I don’t use it on my bottom lashes, the eye poking would be just too major.

Catrice Lashes To Kill Pro Mascara

For me, the formula works great and stays put, but as a result it is a bit of a pain to remove. More so than the Glam & Doll. I always double cleanse in the evening. I use an oil based cleanser first and then go in with a normal cleanser. There’s still mascara residue from it in the morning! If that’s something that would bother you, maybe opt for the normal formula!

ย Overall though, the Catrice Lashes To Kill Pro Mascara gets a huge thumbs up for me! It ticks all my lash boxes and I will 100% repurchase it myself once this tube runs dry. Both formulas are available now in Penneys and pharmacy stockists around the country. They will set you back a very reasonable โ‚ฌ5.50.

January Favourites 2018

It’s time for my first faves of 2018! Yep, it’s January favourites time. I think I say this in every favourites post, but didn’t that month go fast? I’m actually in disbelief that it’s already February.

Quick disclaimer! My camera for some reason was on a low resolution setting while I filmed this. I am not too knowledgable about the technical side of all this stuff unfortunately. So as a result, this video isn’t in HD. I apologise profusely. I wanted to upload it anyways, because I think if I filmed it again, it would be more contrived as I would be repeating myself. Hope you don’t mind.

My January favourites for this year consist mostly of beauty things, (shock horror), with one ‘fashion’ thing thrown in for good measure. I also chat….in depth about one oral hygiene product. I honestly didn’t think I had that much to say on the subject and I was going to cut a lot of it out. But it ended up being a little personal story about me along with a good chunk of jabber so I kept it in. Hope you don’t mind. I always worry people just want to hear about the products and thats it. But then I remember I want to try make videos I would actually watch and I love a bit of life waffle amidst all of the beauty talk ๐Ÿ™‚

January Favourites 2018

As always I’ll list the things I chat about in case you want to learn more about them.

Oral B Electric toothbrush is just from Boots online here.

Design.Me hair products. The website is here. Salon Services has one of their products in stock online, so hopefully that means they will get more in over time.

Huda Beauty Smokey Obsessions Palette. You can buy online here. My review of the Mauve Obsessions is here if you want to check it out.beauty blogger ireland

Zoeva Matte Eyeshadow Fix is online here.beauty blog ireland

Catrice Lashes To Kill Pro Waterproof Mascara. It comes in non waterproof too. I actually think this was already a standing mascara, they might have just updated the packaging. Regardless, I bloody love it and have been using it everyday since it was sent to me. I can’t find it online, but it’s in Penneys and decent pharmacies nationwide now. I’ll do a full review of it soon so you can see it in action.

My very last January favourite is a pair of runners. I think everyone in the world has at the moment. Old Skool Vans!

I have the suede ones. John got me these for Christmas and apparently people say the suede ones are easier to break in. He got them from Littlewoods but I found them on JD Sports here.

And I’m done! Let me know what you were enjoying especially in January. Click here to check out the video in full and as always thanks for watching ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m feeling very makeup video-y this week it seems ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m back with a more wearable everyday look. This is what I do when I am in a bit of a hurry but still want to look put together and presentable.

irish beauty bloggerirish beauty blog

I would more or less do a variation of this makeup look most days I wear it. I would just switch up the eye or lip colour. But, the principle and the application would be the same. Unless, I am trialing specific products or I’m feeling really fancy…or lazy.

It’s really simple and honestly takes no major skills at all. I adore makeup, but I’m no professional. I even added in me (kinda, sorta), doing my hair too ๐Ÿ™‚ Have a click here to watch the video in full, or you can watch it above.

easy brown smoky eye

I do love a good get ready with me video ๐Ÿ™‚ This time I’m doing a really simple brown smoky eye.

irish beauty blogger

I used some of the new products that I hauled here not too long ago. And I actually I think I hauled some of them here too. I have been hauling a bit over the past while. I reckon it’s the change in temperature that makes me spendy. That’s my excuse and I am sticking to it ๐Ÿ™‚

beauty blog ireland

I was heading out, so wanted a decent face of makeup on but still wanted to keep it simple. When in doubt, I tend to taupe it out. A brown smoky eye is kind of my safety blanket. There’s a few old reliable favourites within the mix, but for the most part I used some new out and new to me products.
