full coverage concealerIt seems I am on a bit of a budget beauty roll at the minute, so just go with me 🙂 My last post was all about brows. This time I wanted to focus on full coverage concealer. I’ve picked three that I own and use regularly.

First up is the Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer.

beauty blog ireland

This had major hype when it was first released. Here it is in action of the face:

It will set you back around a fiver, depending on where you buy it. It comes in a plethora of shades and undertones, 25 to be exact. I did a full review of this here, if you want my in depth thoughts. I think it’s a really decent buildable concealer though and is great for the price point.

Next up is the L’Oréal Infallible More Than Concealer, Concealer.

L'Oréal Infallible More Than Concealer

Again here it is in action of my face:

I dive into my full of review of this full coverage, budget concealer here, if you fancy a read. This has really decent coverage. And I know there are people out there who would choose this over Tarte Shape Tape in a heartbeat. I adore Shape Tape, so I don’t really compare the two. For me, this dries down fast, so you have to work quickly, but it can be a bit more difficult to blend. Having said that, it’s a great ‘drugstore’ fuller coverage concealer, and it comes in 25 shades which is great. I just think for drier under eyes, the other two I chat about here would be better in my very personal opinion 🙂

My last choice is one I haven’t spoken about on Beautynook yet.

essence camouflage concealer

I chatted about it briefly on my instagram stories the other day. So if you follow me there, you already have the beauty scoop. This is the Essence Camouflage + Healthy Glow Concealer #mouthful. Here it is in action on my skin first:

I think this only comes in two shade choices which is pretty pants, but Essence are forever bringing out products and changing up their stands. Maybe that has something to do with it. This, for me, is the thinnest formula out out of the three concealers.

It feels the most hydrating under the eyes too, but can still offer up full coverage for those dark circles. I believe there was a matt version of this too, but I have yet to try it. I like that this one isn’t completely flat though and it lasts on me throughout the day. The applicator is also a really cool teardrop shape so makes swiping it under the eyes really easy. And it’s an absolute bargain that you can pick up in Penneys for about 3 euro. Score!

Full coverage concealer

And there are my three budget friendly full coverage concealer choices of the moment. Have you tried any of them?

I know so many wonderful bloggers have done their version of beauty favourites already so apologies if you’ve been inundated. I think it’s a really great idea though and I haven’t done monthly faves this year, so I thought I would do a yearly round of my beauty favourites 2015!

First up is an easy one. I know the Urban Decay Gwen Palette came out late in the year, but it has become one of my most reached for eyeshadow palettes.

urban decay gwen stefani paletteurban decay irelandI am completely head over heels for it. There is neutrals galore, transitional shades, fun sparkly shades and even a couple of cray cray shades to keep things interesting. Gwen, I bow down to you and can’t wait to see the new releases you and Urban Decay have up your sleeves for 2016 🙂 Full swatches of the palette can be seen here and I even did a makeup look with it here if you fancy a nose.

Next up is the very coveted Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop.

becca champagne popNo joke I have used this pretty much everyday since I got it. When I first got my grubby little mitts on this in mid 2015 it was only available in America. Now the lovely people of Spacenk are stocking it here, so everyone can bask in the Champagne Glow. Another one of my 2015 finds was the brush I use to apply the Pop 🙂

irish beauty blogThis awesome F28 brush from Blank Canvas Cosmetics. The lovely Ashling from Total Makeup Addict introduced me to this beauty and I will forever be in her debt for it. It’s the perfect cheek bone highlighting tool.

My favourite setting powder of 2015 would have to be the Chanel Vitalumiere Powder Foundation.

beauty favouritesI have pretty much used this exclusively for the past year.

chanel vitalumiere powder foundationI have a whole review if here. It’s a foundation so there is coverage with it, which I personally like. You can build it up or thin it out depending on application or what brush you use so it’s really versatile. Pricey but versatile 🙂

My next beauty faves are a little more pocket friendly.

irishbeautyblogAgain I have a review of these here, but they are two of the All About palettes from Essence. Essence have a few different colour choices in these really handy eyeshadow palettes and they cost less than a fiver, bargain! Oh and they’re damn pigmented too!

2015 was definitely the year of budget friendly favourite for me. Another one is the Catrice Glamour Doll Waterproof mascara.

irish makeup and beauty blogirish makeup and beauty bloggerFor the latter half of the year this is the only mascara I was (and still am now) using. And what do you know, I have a full review of it here 🙂

My favourite under eye concealer duo have been the Catrice Liquid Camouflage and the Flormar Perfect Coverage.

best of beauty beautynookflormar concealerCheap as chips and together for me are a dynamic duo. You can see them in action here.

My favourite blush of the year has to be the Max Factor Creme Blush in ‘Seductive Pink’.

max factor creme puffmax factor seductive pinkirishbeautyblogThis is just the easiest blush colour to wear. It goes with everything. I love the formula of these too. They blend so nicely. You can see it swatched here if you fancy a nose 🙂

My lip liner find of 2015 probably has to be Whirl by Mac.

mac whirl lip pencilmakeup and beauty blogThis lip liner got a life of it’s own in 2015. It’s a great all round colour though that you can use on it’s own, under nudes and even under darker and brighter shades of lippie. It’s great for evening out the lip line too. I have it swatched here if you want a closer look.

The Only Lipsticks from Rimmel are another makeup find of 2015 that I am very happy with.

irish beauty blogirish beauty bloggerThey came at the end of the year I know, but I’ve been obsessed with them so I had to include them. These two lighter shades have been the ones I grab for most but I own six of them and I wear all the shades alot. I love the finish, the pigmentation and the price point. (yep, I have them all swatched here 🙂

I have two facial skin care faves for 2015 that I wanted to add in aswell.

Serozinc from La Roche Posay.

la roche posay serozincI think I’ve gone through about 4 of these so far and I will repurchase! There’s a full review of it here, but I use Serozinc as a toner, to freshen up my makeup and as a finishing spray when I am finished my makeup. It’s a great all rounder.

My last fave is from the Oils Of Life range from The Body Shop.

the body shop oils of lifeirishbbloggerThis is their Intensely Revitalising Gel Cream. I use this as a night cream. I have oily skin, so heavy creams can sometimes clog my pores. This stuff feels so light on my skin and soaks in really quickly but still leaves behind nice soft hydrated skin. May I add it smells incredible too!

That’s my Beauty Favourites for 2015 done and dusted. Seriously, where did that year go?

Should I do below the neck beauty favourites too, as in more body orientated stuff ha. Let me know.

I gave first impressions on both of these products that were new to me together over on Snapchat (I’m ‘Beautynook’ over there) a couple of weeks ago and I’ve used them that way everyday since.

Budget Beauty Concealer

They are the Flormar Perfect Coverage Concealer and the Catrice Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer. Both of these concealers were under a fiver individually. I bought them both respectively to try but realised I really like using them together, so that’s why they are getting a joint review.

Now I know you’re thinking Gemma, why are using two products to conceal your lovely under circles? That’s a great question thanks for asking 🙂 Let me show you.

When using the two of these for concealing I use the Flormar Perfect Coverage first.

flormar perfect cover

I picked up the shade 01 Fair Ivory and it works well for my Mac NC20 skintone.

undereye correction

I like the applicator on this product too. It has like a paddle shaped doe-foot applicator, that works really easily under the eyes.

My under eyes without any concealer on (I do have foundation on though) looks a bit like this.

irish makeup and beauty blogbeauty blog beautynook

You can see I definitely have some blue tones under there as well some pigmentation.

I use the Flormar Perfect Coverage first because it has a salmon tone to it.

irish beauty and makeup blog

And then I blend it in using whatever synthetic brush I have to hand.

beautynook makeup blog

It’s really lightweight and easy to blend.

irish blog

You can see the finished result here, it does it jobs well and conceals, without caking or looking too obvious.

Then, I pull out the Catrice Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer.Catrice Liquid Camouflage

I got this in the shade 010 Porcelain, it is a pretty light shade, this is good for under the eyes as you want to highlight that area just a touch.

Catrice Ireland

I pop a layer (or two) of this over top. It has a lightweight formula that blends easily into the skin, but still manages to do it’s job of concealing and brightening really well.

Under eye circles

You can see this has more of a skin coloured tone to it. And I do the same, just blend it down in a triangle motion and then up across the tops of my cheeks with a synthetic brush.

beautynook irish beauty blog

By all means you can just use the Flormar Perfect Coverage on it’s own or even the Catrice Liquid Camouflage and be good to go. Separately they conceal well and do not crease under my eyes, as well as not settling into any fine lines or making any dry patches more apparent. I think alot of the cheaper brands struggle with concealer, so to have found two really good ones at the same time is a revelation!

I like using both these products together because, the Flormar works great for the pigmentation and darkness and then the Catrice really brightens the under eye area. Together they make me look more awake…and alive :p

irish makeup bloglifestyle blog

It’s really love at first swipe for me with these 🙂 You can buy the Flormar Perfect Coverage from SimplyFoxy here or in any stockists around the country. The Catrice Liquid Camouflage is online here from Sam McCauley’s or again you can pick it up from stands nationwide including Penneys.
