I already have makeup looks with all the Urban Decay Naked palettes here on Beautynook. You can check out Naked 1 look here, Naked 2 here, Naked 3 here and Naked Smoky here. I did a look with the Naked 2 the other day and put a couple of selfies up on my Facebook page and some of you seem to like it and asked me to film a tutorial, thank you by the way πŸ™‚

irish beauty blogger urban decay naked 2irish beauty blogSo, I did it, well attempted to anyways πŸ™‚ I am really new to this Youtube thing, but I gave it my best go and managed to recreate this really easy Urban Decay Naked 2 makeup look. I am not a makeup artist so I am going to call them makeup looks rather than tutorials, hope you don’t mind.

If you like this video, it would make my day if you went over to my youtube channel and subscribed. I am going to try my best to be consistent with it.

Thanks, as always for stopping by.

Let me know what you think.

I think it’s safe to say I’m on a bit of a contour binge at the minute πŸ™‚ My last review was a round up of some of my favourite budget friendly powder contour palettes, which you can catch here if you missed it. This post is going to be all about the new Catrice All Round Contouring Palette.

Catrice All Round Contour PaletteIf you know Catrice they already have a concealer/correcting palette in the same vein as this. I never felt the need to pick that one up, the contour palette on the other hand, had to be mine. I went everywhere looking for this and was sold out everywhere. I finally stumbled across it in a local pharmacy a little while ago. It seems the Catrice All Over Contour Palette is in high demand. And at €4.50 for a cream contour and highlighting palette, I guess I can see why πŸ™‚

The Palette comes with 5 cream shades.

irish beauty bloggerThere’s a matte ashy brown contouring shade, a warmer contouring shade (that I use for bronzing and it works great). There’s a peachy and a more yellow undertone matte concealer/highlighting colour. And then finally at the far right of the Catrice All Round Contour Palette there’s a light cream shimmering shade.

Here they are swatched on my arm from left to right.

beauty blog site irelandAnd a more up close look at the swatches.

irish makeup and beauty blogtop irish beauty blogHonestly, I am so impressed with the Catrice All Round Contouring Palette. More affordable brands really seem to struggle with the cream contour and highlighting medium. Catrice, for me have hit it out of the park. The pigment is strong, the texture is light and creamy without being oily and all of the shades blend really well into the skin. After blending, you are left with no excess residue or shininess. I’ve worn all the shades numerous times and didn’t get any creasing or oxidising. I do have oily skin though and always set creams with powders.

The lighter matte shades can even be used for concealing, I think, as they are so pigmented. I love using the shimmery highlighter colour as a base for powder highlight, but if you have normal to dry skin, it is a beautiful highlight on its own along the cheekbones and in the inner corners of the eyes, even on the brow bone. I love that you get a warm and a cool contour shade aswell because then you have the choice of both depending on your skin tone.

I have nothing really negative to say about the Catrice All Round Contouring Palette. It’s so affordable and all the shades do exactly what you want them to do.

If I was being really picky I would make one of the lighter matte shades in the palette a little lighter, so paler skin tones (like myself) would benefit more from their highlighting effect. Maybe if this palette is a success, Catrice might bring out a lighter and a darker version…just a thought πŸ™‚

Have you tried it yet?

I’d love to know what you think.

This is round two of my H&M Makeup Haul. The is the face products round πŸ™‚ If you want to see the eye products I picked up, just click on the link here and you can see them up close and swatched. Again, I’ll link the UK H&M website here for all price listings as I bought these in Norway and was probably ripped off πŸ™‚ Everything is pretty reasonable price wise .

First up in my H&M makeup haul part two is the Cover-Up Concealer.

irish beauty blog

Now, I wanted this in Ivory, but I couldn’t find one on the stand to save my life, so I got Vanilla, that’s a tad dark for my skin, but sure I’ll make it work. This would be an all over skin concealer, however I think I will chance it as an under eye one and see how it works.

irishbeautyblog

It has a thin consistency and seems to blend really well into the skin. On first swatch it hasn’t a huge amount of coverage, but it definitely seems like it could be build-able.

irish beauty blogger

beauty blog ireland

I just blended it really softly here

Next up is their Immaculate Compact Foundation.

beauty blogger ireland

I chose this over one of their setting powders because I tend to like a bit of coverage with my face powders.

This is in the shade Ivory and I adore the packaging.

irish makeup and beauty blogger

It comes with a mirror, the powder and than a sponge underneath.

irish makeup and beauty blogThe powder is really finely milled. There is a bit of a weird scent to it but nothing to crazy. After swatching it, the shade Ivory which I believe is the lightest shade they do may be slightly to dark for my natural (MacNC20) skin tone.

irish makeup bloggertop irish beauty blogger

This is a bit annoying considering there are paler people than me out there.

I also got their Solar Flair Bronzing Powder. I had actually seen Lily Pebbles talk fondly of this so I knew it was something I wanted to try.

irish blog

Again, I love the sleek packaging and it comes with a good sized mirror.

I got the shade ‘Sheer Tan’. I think this was the lightest bronzing shade they do. I really like that they do different colours. That is not a regular thing within a beauty brand.

irish blogger

I can detect a really really subtle sheen to the powder when swatched and like the powder foundation it is a really finely milled powder. I think I’m really going to like this πŸ™‚

h&m makeuptop beauty blog irelandThe last thing I have to show is one of the H&M Pure Radiance Powder Blushers.

irish beauty blog

Again, I’ll address the packaging, it’s super pretty and these have a gold bottom which I really love.

I chose the shade ‘Sunrise Pink’. I thought this was the most wearable shade for me.

irish blogger

It’s a dusky pink with a fleck of gold sparkle running through it. When you apply it though, the shimmer doesn’t seem to translate too much.

h&m makeup irelandbeauty blog ireland

Personally, I’m happy about this, but if you’re looking for the sparkle you might not be.

Overall, on first impressions, I am really pleased with my H&M makeup purchases. The packaging, the products themselves and the price points are really great. I look forward to actually applying these to my mug now and seeing how they fare πŸ™‚

Thanks for reading.

Eye primer is essential in my world so I have a mini Urban Decay Primer Potion being added to my makeup bag. Then, in case I’m feeling posh I’m going to pack the Charlotte Tilbury cream shadow in Bette, I have a full review of this here. Rather than a black gel liner I have been loving using a dark grey one at the minute so I’m bringing my Inglot matte gel liner in 78. Then two kohl pencils. A grey L’Oreal one and a brown one from Rimmel.

beauty blog beautynookThe rest of my eye goodies consist of lashes, my fave individuals from Penneys, a pair of Amazing Shine lashes that I love, you can now buy these in Mr Price which is really handy. Then some Duo glue to apply them, an eyelash curler from Shu Uemura and finally some Catrice Glamour Doll Waterproof mascara, I have a full review of this here I love it πŸ™‚

For the face, of course I am going to bring a few options because I am very fickle, and like to change my mind…alot. Also I think you need day time options and night time options too.

irish makeup and beauty blogThe Botanice Radiance Balm is coming. I have a review of this here The primer I have been using for the last while is the Wet n Wild Coverall. I really like it for my oily skin. I have the Estee Lauder Double Wear Light in a shade darker in case I get a little bit of colour, I can mix it with my tried and tested Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude foundation (review here) and a tester of the Makeup For Ever Ultra HD which I really like too. I’m also bringing the Benefit Porefessional License To Blot which is such a weird product. It’s a cream blotting stick and it bloody works!

irish beauty and makeup blogMy concealer choices for the week are my beloved Mac Full Coverage foundation. I love using this as a concealer. Then, my favourite under eye concealers of the moment (again another full review here πŸ™‚ The Flormar Perfect Coverage and the Catrice Liquid Camouflage.

I have Nars Laguna in this really cool palette (it’s called Tahiti) and it comes with a mini Ita brush! Then the Chanel Vitalumiere Powder Foundation, sorry for dropping all of the links but I reviewed this too . the cult classic Champagne Pop from Becca is coming, I have this reviewed too here .The last one on the right then is to bring with me for touch ups, it’s the Mac Studio Fix Powder.

irish blogger beautynookBrow products consist of the Soap & Glory Archery Pencil, then three Billion Dollar Brow products, you can buy these from Boots. I have their brow brush, brow powder and brow gel.

what's in my makeup bagtop irish beauty blog

I have a full colour spectrum of lip choices to choose from going into my makeup bag. A red from Tom Ford called Cherry Lush, a Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Ping Pong, Essence liquid lipstick in Show Off (review here) and then one of the Rimmel The Only One Lipsticks in Naughty Nude (I have a load of these swatched here) A couple of lip liners join the crew too. Rimmel Eastend Snob and Mac Whirl.

nima brush

To apply all the slap some brushes are essential, right? I have the Nima Brush Girls On Tour travel set, I’m so excited to use these beauties, you can see them up closer here. I have a mini Mac 217, a random mini flat Nars brush and a big Powder n Pout P230 which I have yet to try so the hollier will be a good test. I think these will keep me going for the week, right?

That’s all the makeup that will make it into my suitcase. I’m definitely an overpacker I know, a couple of makeup bags will be needed.

If you want to have a nose at what I get up to, be sure to follow me on Snapchat. I love snapping. My username over their is ‘Beautynook’.

As always thank you so so much for reading πŸ™‚

Last night I attended the Irish press launch of the brand Flormar. Now I know Flormar is a brand that has been around a while now. It originated in Milan in the 70’s and is now based in Turkey. It was available in Ireland for a short time too a couple of years ago, but now it is being relaunched into pharmacies around the country aswell as The Cosmetic Outlet in Dublin 8 and online too.

I myself had never tried Flormar, so I was very excited to bring home a goodie bag at the end of a lovely evening in The Residence.

I thought I would show you the products us bloggers got just to give you a little impartial look at some of what the brand has to offer.

Flormar itself has a whole range of cosmetics, including over 1000 different nail polishes, holy crap, so there is plenty of choice for us and everything is priced below €12.95!

First up we have the product their Bronzing Powder.

flormar bronzing powder

Flormar First Impression (6)

flormar ireland bronzer

irish beauty blog beautynook

This bronzer is huge, you get 33grams of product for €9.95.

irish beauty blog beautynook

After swatching the bronzer I can say it’s really pigmented and soft to the touch aswell. You can see it on my arm above, swatched and then beside it a swatch more blended into the skin. It has sparkles in the pan but applies matte.

Next up is their Illuminating Primer Make-up Base.

flormar illuminating primer

This comes in a 30ml bottle with a pump and will cost you €9.95. Flormar say it’s infused with green tea and acacia to soothe and nourish the skin.

It comes out white on the skin initially.

irish beauty blog beautynook

But then when it blends and dries it leave a nice sheeny (but not greasy base).

beauty blog

I wonder how this will fare on my oily skin?

We also got an eyeshadow palette in our bags.

flormar colour palette eyeshadow

flormar ireland

This is called ‘Nude Dudes’ and will set you back €9.95. It contains 5 matte brown shades including a warmer brown colour which is pretty rare to find in your local chemist. I for one am happy about this.

I’ve only swatched them on my arm so far, but like the bronzer, they were very soft and easy to blend.

beautynook beauty blog

The lightest shade is the exact same colour as my pale ass skin so it doesn’t show up too well on camera. It will make the perfect base colour for my lids though πŸ™‚

We got two lip products to try out aswell.

First up the Flormar Longwearing lipgloss in ‘Backstage’.

flormar longwearing lipgloss Backstage

flormar beautynookI actually wore this today, the hot magenta colour lured me in. It’s not sticky on the lips at all and the colour pay off is pretty impressive. It has little reflective sparkles throughout it aswell. The lipglosses cost €5.95 each.

The other lip product is one of their Revolution lipsticks in the shade ‘Provocative Orange’.

flormar revoloution lipstick

I love the packaging of these πŸ™‚

flormar revolution lipstick provocative orange

And the pay off isn’t bad either, in fact it’s pretty bloody good.

beauty blog lipstick swatch

This has a really soft texture to it and went on no problems at all. The colour is also pretty gorge too right? The Flormar Revolution Lipsticks will cost us €6.95.

Finally in our goodie bag, there was Jelly Look nail enamel.

flormar jelly look nail polish

flormar nail polishThis is in the colour Turquoise Green, I love it. There’s plenty of colours in the nail polish range to choose from though so don’t worry πŸ™‚

I just swatched it quickly on one of my nails. This is two coats and no top coat applied.

beautynook beauty blog

It applied easy enough and I love the long handle on it, I think it helps with the application. Not sure of a definite price on these but I will add it in as soon as I know.

Overall, I’m actually pretty impressed with what I have seen of the Flormar brand. I think it will be a welcome addition to our ‘drugstore’ makeup brand selection.

What do you think? Have you used the brand before? Let me know.
