I came across the Max Factor Creme Bronzer completely by chance while having a nose around my local Boots.

Max Factor Creme Bronzer

I am a bit fan of the Creme Blushes, so it was a no brainer to pick one up to try. There are two shades. Bronze is the darker or the two. Me being the pale Irish girl that I am, I went with the lighter shade Light Gold.

Max Factor Creme Bronzer Review

The packaging on the Max Factor Creme Bronzer doesn’t really wow me too much. To be honest the blush packaging didn’t either. It’s kinda bulky. They are really similar only the bronzer packaging is obviously square and a little bigger.

Mac Factor ireland

I kinda wish the pan was bigger, just because I generally use a bigger brush to apply my bronzer.

The Max Factor Creme Bronzer is a baked mineral bronzer with a lighter base, with a darker colour swirled within it. It looks more cool in the pan, but when you apply it to the skin it definitely has a warm tone to it, but just enough in my opinion. No orange in sight. I sweep it into the ‘hollows’ of my cheeks too and it gives a subtle contour. I put hollows in inverted commas because let’s be real, there is nothing really hollow about my face 🙂

The powder is soft to the touch and applies smoothly and blends nicely onto the skin. The payoff is more sheer as you apply it. I prefer this as you can build up the colour on the skin to your liking. It has a satin finish, but there’s no sparkle or shimmer to it.

It lasts well on my skin and does a great job at warming up my complexion.

Overall, I a big fan! To be fair I knew I would be, it’s the blush in bronzer form 🙂

The Max Factor Creme Puff Bronzer is available from Boots in store or online now here. It costs €12.99.

Nope, I definitely didn’t need it! But, I got it anyways. This is the Mac Fruity Juicy ‘Oh My Passion’ Pearlmatte Face Powder! Isn’t she a beauty?

Mac Fruity Juicy

To be completely honest, I bought this completely based on how it looks in the pan. That is the most makeup addicted thing I have ever said, and I am completely OK with it 🙂

mac cosmetics

According to the Brown Thomas website the Mac Fruity Juicy ‘Oh My Passion’ Powder is: ‘A unique face powder featuring a flirty flower pattern pressed into it. Pearlized and satin shades feature a rich texture, velvet finish. Can be used as a blush and highlighter. (Also suitable for eye area.) Limited edition. Special packaging with tropical fruit and floral print.’ They had me at flirty flower pattern, ha!

I must admit, I do hate the name of this collection, it just makes me think of chewing gum. The packaging definitely saves it for me though.

There is four shades within this powder. The flowers are light yellow gold shimmer, lilac and coral. And then, then what seems to be a leaf motif in the middle is a shimmery bronze shade.

Here they are swatched individually with and without the flash:

Then, here they are all swirled together and applied to the skin pictured with and without the flash on:

All of the shades alone have a shimmer to them and apply really smoothly and opaquely to the skin. Mixed together you get a really pretty iridescent peach shade.

When I saw the Mac Fruity Juicy ‘Oh My Passion’ powder first, I thought it would probably be too dark for my pale skin. Also, the shades are quite cumbersome to use alone. You need to use a pretty small brush. It can be done though. And they are designed to use on the eyes too. However, I really like the peach sheen you get from all the colours together, so that is probably how I will use it myself personally.

I picked up my Mac Fruity Juicy ‘Oh My Passion’ powder in store from the new Arnotts Mac counter. They don’t sell the brand online though, so here is a link to it from Brown Thomas if you like what you see. It costs €31.50.

Did you pick up anything from the collection?

I wanted to create a simple Summer makeup look and I made it a bit more interesting and used all affordable makeup products!

top irish beauty blogger

This is about as fresh and simple summer makeup like my oilier and dare I say more mature skin will get 😛 Obviously, there is the bb cream and lip balm option too. This is more the ‘put together’ simple makeup look. After I filmed this I went out and had some dinner and felt very much put together.

On a side note, how much difference does filling in my brows make??

My simple summer makeup does use alot of products, but sure that’s how I roll and they are all affordable and easy to get a hold of here in Ireland. I used alot of L’Oréal products, Not on purpose, it just what I seemed to gravitate towards at time of application 🙂

First things first. If you don’t like kitsch and you don’t like heavily scented product. You will not like any of the Too Faced Sweet Peach products.

If you are like me and don’t mind any of that, keep on reading because of course this post is going to be about the Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow Palette 🙂

too faced sweet peach review

This palette is a continuation of the Too Faced Sweet Peach family. We of course had the eyeshadow palette first which the beauty world went nuts about. So the collection was extended to include this, blushes and lip glosses and I am sure there is more to come.

The Glow palette comes similarly packaged to the eyeshadow palette. The casing is a light hollow metal and it has a magnetic closing which I really like.

top beauty blog ireland

You don’t have to fiddle with a clasp to get it open. It has a good sized mirror too and quite compact.

Inside you get a highlight, a blush and a bronzer. They are all powder.

A coral orange toned blush which is 5.5 grams of product (almost double the amount of the other two):

And then a warm toned satin finish bronzer. This is also 3 grams:

The powders are heavily scented of sweet peach. It’s the first thing that greets you when you open the palette. I personally really like the scent. It reminds of me of sweeties and as I am even writing this, I am stopping to have a whiff of the palette beside me.

The products are quite densely packed in the pans, but it doesn’t make them difficult to blend out on the skin. It also means you don’t get a lot of kickback when you dip your brush (or your fingers) in. When you swatch the powders with your fingers, you get a decent saturation of product on the skin.

When you apply with a brush you get a sheerer application on first swipe, but you can build up all three powders to your liking. I like this because it puts you in control of the colour pay off. If you are looking for instant gratification with them though, you are probably best off using a stiffer bristled brush for application.

In my opinion the colours are more suited to lighter skin tones like my own. All three are very pretty wearable shades though. The bronzer shade is a little warmer than what I would go for myself normally, but it applies really nicely on the skin. I find it really wearable.

I wouldn’t be Irish and the occasion would not be marked if I didn’t at least attempt a St Patrick’s Day Makeup Look.

St Patrick's Day Makeup

I am a big fan of green eyeshadow, so for me this is something I would wear anytime honestly. But we will call it St Patrick’s Day makeup because it fits the bill too 🙂 As always I am not a makeup artist, so this is just something really simple and easy to achieve, but hopefully fun at the same time too!

Green eyeshadow makeup look

I did a St Patrick’s Day makeup look last year, when I first set up my YouTube channel here. This is full on green. I thought this year, I would make it a little more subtle, but still festive at the same time. Think of it like your own makeup, that you are comfortable with, just with a hint of Paddy thrown in 🙂

St Patrick's Day Makeup

As always, you can watch the video by clicking on it above, or directly on my Youtube channel here.

I used a mixture of the Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics palette which I have all the details on here. I used some Makeup Geek shadows, which you can buy online here. And, of course some Mac shadows that you can buy from Brown Thomas online here. The Kiko cream eyeshadow stick is directly from Kiko here.

top irish beauty blog

Of course I use and name an abundance of other products. If you have any questions about any of them, just let me know in the comments below. You know I love to talk makeup any time 🙂

As always, thanks for taking the time to click in. Have a brilliant St Patrick’s Day whatever you get up too. I think my own this year will be pretty low key, but I am very much looking forward to it. There is always such a lovely atmosphere 🙂

Clarins are releasing some awesome products at the moment. You know how enamored I am with their 4 Colour All In One Pen. I did a post on it here a little while ago. Another one of their limited edition releases is a Face Contour Palette. This is their first one.

Clarins Face Contour Palette

It contains 3 shades. A highlight, a contour and a blush colour.

The packaging is beautiful. The powders are packaged in a very swish gold palette.

And a large mirror is always welcome too.

It also comes with it’s own mini contouring brush.

The natural hair brush is super soft and actually super functional. It works really well at applying the product. The angled shape makes it great for applying contour, but it’s wide enough that you can blend out with it too.

Here are all three colours swatched side by side on my arm, just to give an idea of the finish and the pigmentation. They are enriched with plant extracts that are supposed to help nourish the skin. As well as Clarins own Anti-Pollution Complex.

top irish beauty blogger

All the powders are soft and pigmented. The highlighter is not what you would expect. It’s matte for a start! Clarins say use to enhance the face rather than add glow. Like under your eyes, the chin and the middle of the forehead.

The contour powder is quite warm toned.

For me, although the powder is lovely and blends really nicely. It doesn’t work as a contour. I much prefer using as a matte bronzer around the perimeter of my face to warm up my complexion.

The blush is pink toned with a satin finish. It’s a nice universal colour, that I think would work on a lot of skin tones.

Overall, I think the Clarins Face Contour Palette is nice. It is always nice to have multi functioning products under a pretty roof. The powders are really good quality, they are packaged beautifully and the brush is really functional. The highlight shade for me, works better as a setting powder and the contour shade as a bronzer. If you are looking to use it for their stated purposes however, it might not be the palette for you.

It is available in all stockists now. You can buy it from Boots online here. It will set you back €47 for 13.8 grams of product, along with the accompanying brush.
