I know, I know! This video only went up at the end of last year showing you my bargain River Island find. But having friends like Siopaella means I come into contact with some beautiful things. And sometimes those things stick, like my new Louis Vuitton handbag 🙂
I’ve gotten some questions about my new purchase, so I thought it would be fun to answer them in video form. My new very fancy purchase, is a vintage find from the 90’s, which makes me love it even more. It’s called the Louis Vuitton Jeune Fille Crossbody bag. I found out later that Jeune Fille means young girl in French, which I am at heart, but definitely not in real life 🙂
I am not a designer expert whatsoever. That’s Ella’s job, so be sure to follow Siopaella on Instagram to keep up with all their awesome content. Their unboxing videos are the best!
There is of course wear and tear to my new Louis Vuitton splurge, it’s old and it’s been used. I am completely ok with that, that comes with buying vintage. In the video, I tell you how I came across the bag and why I bought it, so I won’t bore you with any of that in written form.
And as an extra little bonus at the end, I rummage through it and show you the compartments that it has and all the crap I can fit into it. Including a stupid amount of makeup, of course 🙂

Three scary words I know. Glitter winged liner. Don’t worry. They’re scary to me too. I’m no professional 🙂
Winged liner for me, does not come easy. I really have to work hard for that flick. I overthink it and my left eye just doesn’t like to be bullied into doing anything it doesn’t want to do. My little trick, that I 100% did not invent does help ALOT though. I did it here on camera for the first time yonks ago and always resort to it when I want a feline flick. That video is from two years ago. I like to feel like I have come on leaps and bounds personally and makeup-ly since then 🙂
When I’m feeling a bit bleh, makeup really helps me get out of my head. So the other day I started playing with liner. I created a glitter liner look and got so many questions on it. Perfect for me, it meant I could do it in video form and hopefully some of you lovely people would watch.
This time around I got fancier and added a glitter winged liner and a bold lip to boot. I reckon this look would be great for now and as we creep into the festive season. Yep we’re nearly there. Meer weeks to go!
And yes, I am obviously am quite proud of this makeup, considering how narcissistic this blogpost is with just photos of my face. I am sometimes happy with my work 🙂 The star of this show is the glitter, of course. It’s the infamous Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Liner in ‘Midnight Cowboy’. This had been on my lust list for ages. Finally, I gave in and picked it up. There is so many more affordable alternatives out there though, so don’t be deterred.
The lippie is the darkest shade from the Bourjois Rouge Velvets that I own. They are a bloody gorgeous formula. And that’s pretty much it! Everything else is in the video above or you can click here. Let me know what you think 🙂
I wanted to do an affordable red lip look, but with a really simple premise. I think usually, especially this time of year. The normality is to go for a cat eye, gold or smoky eye with a bold lip.
My vision for the affordable red lip look was a really simple olive toned eye with a matte red lip. I didn’t use any liner, just lashings of mascara. I wanted the lip to be the focal point, but also have the shadow play an interesting role too 🙂 Most of the time when I do my makeup, even for Beautynook, I just wing it! Not literally, of course 😉 But then sometimes, my imagination is so specific in what it wants. This was one of those times.
I ended up even leaving my hair up and messy. That literally never happens either! You can of course see me waffle about it in video form above, or directly over on YouTube here.
All of the products I used are affordable of course, and they’re all items I really enjoy too. I had applied my base and brows before turning on the camera, but they happened to be all budget friendly products as well.
So, the main products I used to create my really simple affordable red lip look were:
Initially the Sleek Au Natural Palette. Although I did switch it up, it didn’t quite work for what I was going for.
Inglot single eyeshadows in 305 and 419. You can buy them in store or online here.Max Factor Creme Bronzer. Review here.
Nyx High Definition blush in Amber. You can buy online here.
Wet n Wild Highlighter in Under The Midnight Sea. You can see more info on this here.
Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in Red Diva. You can buy online here.
Bourjois Rouge Velvet Lipstick in 08 Rubi’s Cute. More info on this here.
And there you have it! I really like this look. It’s super simple and gives me low key grunge vibes. Let me know what you think 🙂
We all need a bit of festive glitter in our lives. I am bringing some in eyeshadow form, with this really simple, but effective festive sparkle makeup look.
This sparkle makeup look is super easy to achieve and doesn’t require too much faffing around. I actually created it last week, when going out with friends. I already had some ‘daytime’ makeup on. So when it came to doing a more night time appropriate face. I really just went over what I already had on. It made me think this would be really great for going out straight after work. If you don’t have a lot of time, but still want to look put together.
You can check out how the full look comes together in video form here.
Here’s a list of some of the main products I used:
By Terry Ombre Blackstar cream eyeshadow stick in Bronze Moon. I got mine from Cult Beauty here.
Chanel Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Quad in 268. Doesn’t seem to be readily available any more.
Urban Decay Original Naked Palette. You find here.
Stila Magnificent Metal Glitter Eyeshadow in Kitten Karma. You can find it online here.
I am back with another installment of current affordable makeup loves. This has just become a bit of a thing now on Beautynook. I am constantly trying out new makeup, but there is always certain products that stay in the main makeup stash!
My last installment of affordable makeup loves was here if you fancy checking it out.
I have five makeup products to talk about this time. First up is actually two products I hauled from Beauty Bay on Black Friday. (You can check out the full haul here).
They are both from the brand LA Girl. The first one is their Glide Gel Liner in Brown.
I have worn this nearly every day I’ve worn makeup since it came. It is so damn creamy and pigmented. I am going to sound really dramatic here, but it’s a dream to use. I find now since I’m getting older. The skin around my eyes isn’t as tight as it once was. I’m in my 30’s now, sad times. Some kohl pencils can drag a bit on the upper lash line.
This honestly does exactly what it says on the tin though. It glides on, lasts really well and they also come in loads of different colours as well. They are €4.70 on the Beauty Bay website here.
My other LA Girl love, that again, I’ve been using every single day is the Shade Slim Brow Pencil.
I have the shades Medium Brown and Espresso. I’ve definitely been reaching for Medium Brown more though. It’s a tad cooler in tone. I love a micro brow pencil and these are a really great one. They are €5.90, again from Beauty Bay here.
My next affordable makeup love is one of the Bourjois Rouge Velvet Lipsticks.
I literally haven’t stopped harping on about these. (I have a full video and blog post on them here). The shade 02 Flaming’rose has become my everyday lip shade in particular though.
It’s a really flattering pinky nude shade for paler, more pink toned skin like mine. These lippies are uber pigmented, apply really smoothly and last really well on the lips too. I would for sure recommend them. They are the cheapest online from Feel Unique here.
I have a eyeshadow brush for my fourth product. I actually received this in a goodie bag. It is the Blank Canvas, Rose Gold, E01 Round Eye Blending Brush from their Dimension 1 Collection.
I had this on my desk still in the package when I decided to wash and sort through the main brushes I use. My eye brushes were still drying when I had to put on a face of makeup, so I picked up this. I literally did a whole eye look with this one brush.
It’s a good size for crease work and using on the lower lash line too. You can apply product with it, but it’s also nice and fluffy so you can blend with it too. A great all rounder. You can find it on their website here.
And that leaves us with one more favourite. This is the limited edition Under The Midnight Sea highlighter from Wet n Wild.
It’s from their Midnight Mermaid Collection which is in stores now, I believe.
It’s lovely cool toned gold, soft powder highlighter. Wet n Wild have had some absolute highlighter gems over the past couple of years. This is definitely one of them. It’s gold but has like a green iridescent to it. Very wearable though and very pretty. I’ve been wearing this lots since I got it in the post.
And there concludes my current affordable makeup loves. Let me know what you think 🙂
It’s my second last one for this year. Time for my November Favourites for 2017:)
Why yes, that would be me awkwardly posing with some of my November favourites selections, why ever do you ask?
As always you can watch the video over on my YouTube channel for more info and musings on the products in question. I will link them here too though in case anything in particular takes your fancy.
First up I talk about the sweatshirt I am wearing. I picked it up in store at the beginning of the month. Super casual and cosy. I am kind of obsessed with it.
The This Works Deep Sleek Heavenly Candle is online for the best price from Look Fantastic here.
I reviewed the Esteè Lauder Double Wear Nude Foundation here not too long ago. I actually said in the video that it retails for €34. Totally forgot I picked it up in duty free though. The cheapest I can find it online is from Debenhams here.
The Dermalogical Pre Cleanse Balm is something I didn’t think I would like. I’ve been literally using it every night since I got it though. Not cheap but you use very little product per use and the mitt comes included. I found it cheapest online from Feel Unique here.
My last favourites are the Bourjois Rouge Velvet lipsticks that I just will not shut up about. Apologies if you’re sick of listening to me. But honestly, I am obsessed. I know I might be obsessed with other lipsticks in days from now, even hours. But for this past month, I have been loving these lippies 🙂 I did a video and blog post about them here, if you want to see the ones I have swatched.
And there you have my November Favourites for 2017. Have you had any loves for the month? Let me know!
