Duraline is one of those things so many of us have in our makeup stash but we never think to talk about it. It is such a handy thing to own. Bear with me, I know it doesn’t look much in the picture π
First off, you can pick up Duraline from your local Inglot store, or they stock in on the website here It costs 12 euro and will literally last you a life time.
A more technical explanation of Duraline is as follows ‘Silicone polymer forms a breathable film while this waterless clear liquid transforms any powder into an intense and easy to use liquid.’
In my more lay man terms Duraline is an awesome liquid that you can add to eyeshadow to make them into coloured eye liners. π
I chose this Body Shop yellow eyeshadow because it shows the effect Duraline can have.
As you can see it can darken lighter shades, so just be weary of that. However, you can always add some white shadow in to lighten it up a bit. It’s a bit like being a painter π
You just need a couple of drops and you can tranform any shadow matte or sparkly, and it dries to a waterproof finish, so you don’t need to worry about it sliding around you eyes. On a side note, to save your eyeshadow, scrape it out of it’s pan and do the mixing separately because it will dry it out!
Duraline is also the best invention ever for reviving dried up gel liners/brow gels etc. Seriously it’s such a life saver. Again a couple of drops and your gel is as good as new.
You can add Duraline to foundations or concealers too if they are too thick or harder to spread. I saw on the online grape vine it can also help them last longer too. I’ve yet to try this method, but I will be definitely giving it a go in the future.
Because Duraline dries, I also find it great for adding glitter to the eyes too. I usually do this but adding a teeny tiny amount to a synthetic brush, apply a really light layer to my lid and then use the same brush to pat on the glitter and then your party ready!
In Conclusion (I feel like I’m back in college throwing that into a post π Duraline is such a handy and underrated product. Go get it π

I was lucky enough to the head of the launch of the newest Irish tan on the market a while ago. Simply named The Tan, It was created by the beauty powerhouse duo The Jenns who own the very gorgeous Vanity Rooms in Stepaside.
Let me start by saying…I bloody love this tan! I am down to the bare bones of this bottle of their Super Hydrating Liquid Gel Tan already.
Tanning if I’m honest is such a faff I don’t enjoy the process at all. The scrubbing, the application…the drying oh the drying. Standing on a towel naked with your arms and legs akimbo in the middle of your bedroom for 40 minutes waiting for tan to dry is one of the most annoying things to do in the world right?
Well I can honestly say you won’t have that problem with The Tan, it dries so quickly, I was astonished, five minutes and I was able to put clothes on without any transfer or sticky residue, hurrah!
So onto application.
My skin started out before showering with some left over tan on from the week before.
Here’s my lovely freckly Irish arm skin in all it’s glory π
Before Using The Scrub Your Body Exfoliating Mitt
I used the Scrub Your Body Exfoliating Mitt from Glove Your Body, with the Dove Deeply Nourishing Body Wash which I reviewed here. I am loving this combo at the minute when I really want to scrub my skin. The mitt is is gritty but doesn’t pull the skin, and the body wash is lovely and foaming so together they do a great job of getting rid of all the dead skin cells and the remainder or tan or product you may have on your skin without stripping it completely. The Scrub Your Body will cost you β¬9.99 here
It’s not the most photogenic product in your beauty arsenal, but it does its job very well π
After Using the Scrub Your Body Exfoliating Mitt
So next step is applying The Tan. I have been using the Glove Your Body Tanning Mitt to apply my tan for the last few weeks and I have to say I am really enjoying it.
Glove Your Body is another Irish owned company which is fantastic. The Mitt itself is quite big as you can see. Inside, it has little elasticated rings to hold all your fingers in place…I know pretty nifty right? It means your fingers can still grip but you have the handiness of a flat surface on the outside on the mitt itself. The Glove Your Body is really soft and can be used on both sides without any products getting through and ruining your hands. It is also really durable, you can just pop it in the washing machine and it comes out like new! It will set you back β¬19.99 but it will last you a really long time so I for one think it’s worth the investment.
I am not a professional tanner, I just dive in and hope for the best π
So, I apply some of The Tan Super Hydrating Liquid Tan Gel onto my glove.
I find the Glove Your Body doesn’t soak up any of the product so you can do a little a time. I start from the bottom of my body up in small circular motions personally but whatever works for you is a ok π
The Tan gel is tinted so it’s really easy to see which I love, as I am forever missing spots! After application, your skin will already have a hint of colour which is handy if you have somewhere to be straight away. The Tan is a gel formula so it doesn’t slip and slide when you apply it, it soaks in really quickly and you are left with soft non sticky skin.
After Applying The Tan
As you can see my pasty freckly arm already has a bit of colour, and that’s before development.
I tend to leave my tan on to develop overnight but you of course do whatever works for you skin.
The next day, my skin looks a bit like this.
The Tan The Next Day Before Showering
The Tan develops into a night golden tan with no streaks. I’ve applied The Tan now on my skin probably about six times, and it didn’t streak any of those times. When applying it has a nice watermelon scent. It does smell slightly when developing, but honestly I have never ever used a tan that doesn’t yet!
The Tan After Showering
After showering I am left with a nice golden colour much more pleasing to my eyes anyway then the pasty red toned skin after scrubbing π Some people were blessed with lovely porcelain white skin…I was not π
The Tan Super Hydrating Liquid Gel Tan has lovely ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid, Shea Butter and Sunflower Seed Oil. The Jenns say this mix helps your tan fade evenly. I think it really does. I don’t find it goes patchy at all, if you stop using it and exfoliate it just disappears.
Overall, I am loving The Tan products. I use their Gradual Daily moisturiser too when I want to prolong my tan and like the Hydrating Liquid Gel it soaks in super quick and leaves you skin feeling soft.
If you don’t like to tan yourself, The Vanity Rooms also offer professional spray tan using their products, so you don’t need to miss out π Well done Jenns, you are a force to be reckoned with. The Hydrating Liquid Gel will cost you β¬19.99 and the Gradual Daily Bronzer is β¬14.99
Also, Glove Your Body is such a handy tanning tool as is the Scrub Your Body Exfoliating mitt, I am completely converted..
Take it from a tanning novice, these products combined do the job and do it well π

Body wash? Yep we’ve all got to use it. Sometimes I feel like investing money into it and splashing out and sometimes I want a reasonably priced pick that I know I can rely on. For me, Dove is this pick. I was sent this new Dove Deeply Nourishing Body Wash, but I had actually done a basics shop in Boots a few days before and picked up a bottle myself!
I love the soapy “clean” smell of it…if that makes sense? π
It has a thick consistency, so you can use it just with your hands and create a nice lather or with a sponge or a flannel, what ever your poison.
I tend to use it on my hands when I am washing as normal. A little goes a long way and it feels really nice and silky on the skin. I use it to shave aswell. I am not really a shaving gel lover, and I find the Dove Deeply Nourishing Body Wash is a great alternative. And because it is so reasonably priced, I don’t feel like I’m wasting the product either.
Once or maybe even twice a week, I like to exfoliate my skin. Again, I can use the Dove Body Wash for that too.
I can sometimes find gritty body scrubs a bit too harsh. Using the body wash, which feels lovely and nourishing, I apply it with this exfoliating gloves. You can pick them up in loads of different places. I get mine in Penney’s. I love this combo, because I am in control of the scrubbing, not the product and The Dove Deeply Nourishing Body Wash lathers up nicely and makes my skin feel nice and soft afterwards.
Overall, The Dove Deeply Nourishing Body Wash is a winner in my book. I have always loved the Dove range of body wash products. My skin doesn’t feel dry or dehydrated after using them. The Nourishing Body Wash is particularly good for this. At the minute it is β¬1.74 (half price) in Boots . Cannot argue with that really π
I was given the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel at an event, and I simply fell in love with it, but at over 35 quid it’s not ideal for the pocket. So I’ve been on the hunt for something that does the job but is a tad bit cheaper.
This brings me onto the whole point of this post The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Oil. I’ve been a bit of an oil junkie of late, see my review of the Waxperts Beautiful Body Oil here, so I thought oil was a good way to go.
Like the Oskia gel, the Camomile Cleansing Oil is applied to your face when it’s dry to begin with. Give the bottle a shake and then you massage it in, then wet your hands to emulsify the oil and lather some more. I really like this two step method. I feel like your helping with circulation aswell as really getting the product into your pores and giving your face a good oul clean! You then just rinse your face (I use a muslin cloth) and the jobs oxo.
I really like the Camomile Cleansing Oil. It smells lovely and fresh and you only need a couple of pumps in the palm of your hand to do your whole face (and neck if you’re like myself) so it’s not a really messy operation. It also works! A couple of times after using it I checked for residue with some micellar water and a cotton pad and there was none, so it’s taking off all of my makeup, even the waterproof parts. I rub it into my lashes, it doesn’t sting or feel uncomfortable.
It also doesn’t feel like your stripping your skin or drying it out when you use it. As I have oily skin you would assume I would want my skin as dry as a bone after washing but if you strip your skin completely it’s just going to make even more oil to compensate, we don’t want that.
The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Oil is made with fair trade camomile which is great and is the case for alot of The Body shop’s products. It also contains Almond Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil and Soy bean Oil so plenty of oil within the oil π
In conclusion, I’ve found a really good alternative to my Oskia Cleansing Gel. It get the job done, doesn’t irritate and feels nice on the skin, I will definitely repurchase.
The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Oil will set you back β¬17.50 which is half of what the Oskia would. Also Caroline Hirons had nice things to say about the Camomile Cleansing Oil, that alone would make me buy it π
I am not a waxer, I hold my hands up and admit to that. My hair grows really fast and just for me it would be too expensive to upkeep. However I know the Waxperts brands very well and they are a force to be reckoned with in the waxing world. They have taken Ireland and the United Kingdom by storm with their painless wax and methods and are set to conquer the world.
Just because I do not wax does not mean I cannot use their skincare products though. They so far have two on the market and I am hear to tell you all about them π
First up is the Waxperts Wonder Pads.
These have been around a while now and I have been using them for a long time and love them. They are marketed towards the treatment and prevention of ingrown hairs after waxing or for someone like me after shaving. They work really well for this, but they can also be used for treating spots or any lumps or bumps you might get anywhere on the body including the face. Wonder Pads contain salicylic acid, so they unclog the pores and neutralise any bacteria within them. They also contain panthenol that helps to hydrate the skin while also helping to stop the itching that can happen after you shave or wax, pretty good right? This is the bit I love particularly about them because I am always prone to lumps and bumps after shaving…the joys! They don’t dry out your skin either like some salicylic acid products can.
You get 40 pre moistened pads per pot so it will last you a good while before you have to pick up another batch. You can get them from Cloud 10 Beauty here or from Dolledup.ie and they will set you back β¬7.95. I really recommend them.
The newest launch from Waxperts comes in the form of their Beautiful Body Oil.
Body oils can really be hit or miss. They can be too oily on the skin and make you feel slimy and unclean when you apply it, and make you literally have to wait an hour before clothing touches you…nightmare! The good ones can usually set you back a fair bit of dosh and then you tend to use them for only special occasions. None of this is the case for Waxperts Beautiful Body Oil.
It was created for at home consumption because the oil Waxpert waxers used at appointments went down really well and clients wanted to be able to bring it home with them.
The Beautiful Body Oil can be used in many different ways, post waxing, post shaving, post bathing or showering or post sunbathing(that’s alot of posts). As the main ingredient is lavender and the oil smells divinely of it, it’s great to use before bed as we know lavender products are great for relaxation.
I have been using the Beautiful Body Oil everyday after showering or bathing for the past few weeks. It soaks in really quickly, smells lovely, and leaves your skin feeling supple and soft without any residue. I can’t say anything bad about it. I even love the bottle because you can pump the oil out onto your hands or body so none of the product is wasted!
Waxperts Beautiful Body Oil 100ml bottle is available from Dolledup.ie and Cloud10beauty here too and will set you back β¬9.99 not too bad at all!
The lovely ladies behind Waxperts know their stuff, I cannot wait to see what is in store for them next.
