easy brown smoky eye

I do love a good get ready with me video 🙂 This time I’m doing a really simple brown smoky eye.

irish beauty blogger

I used some of the new products that I hauled here not too long ago. And I actually I think I hauled some of them here too. I have been hauling a bit over the past while. I reckon it’s the change in temperature that makes me spendy. That’s my excuse and I am sticking to it 🙂

I was heading out, so wanted a decent face of makeup on but still wanted to keep it simple. When in doubt, I tend to taupe it out. A brown smoky eye is kind of my safety blanket. There’s a few old reliable favourites within the mix, but for the most part I used some new out and new to me products.

Zara Duty Free Random Haul

This has been a bit of a funny week for me. If you follow me on Snapchat, you’ll probably already know. And, I touch on it a bit in the video aswell. Last week was lovely, we spent it in Spain (Almuñecar to be exact), for our lovely friend Ella’s birthday. I had bought some stuff in duty free on the way back and the plan was just to give you a nose on Snapchat. But something pretty shitty happened this week and my brain hasn’t really let me get back to normality…yet. It will though 🙂 So, I thought I would combine a few bits that I have bought in town, some Zara bits and the duty free products and show them in a haul.

Zara Duty Free Random Haul

Hauls are fun to film, and hopefully fun for you to watch aswell. This was a good compromise for me. It meant I could just sit in front of the camera and ramble about the goodies I have picked up, and it gives me blog content too. I actually ordered some of the Zara things while I was still in Spain, online. I thought they would be a nice little treat to come home too 🙂 Then, we had prolonged our holidays for a little bit longer by spending the day after we came back, in town, doing some shopping.

I only did a haul here before I went away. So if you want to see more shopping you can watch that too!

What I can link I will, in case anything takes your fancy:

Zara online purchases.

  • Pom Pom Sweatshirt. Link here.
  • Two Tone Sweatshirt. Link here.
  • Mini velvet embroidered backpack. Link here.

Duty Free purchases. I bought these in Malaga airport, but they pretty much cost the same as they do here:

  • Esteè Lauder Doublewear Nude Foundation. Link here.
  • Lancôme Matte Shaker Liquid Lipstick in the shade…Link here.
  • L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil. Link here.

Clinique Beyond Perfecting 2 in 1 Foundation. I wanted to get this in the airport but they were out of stock of my shade Alabaster. So I treated myself to it in store from Arnotts. They have it online here.

And yes I bought a third foundation for good measure. The new Rimmel Lasting Perfection Breathable foundation. I picked this in from Boots here. The brand was on buy one get one half off, so I got their Insta Fix & Matte Powder because my lovely friend Sue (itscherrysure) raves about it.

The rest of the things are from Penneys so I can’t link them, but they are in store now. To watch the video in full, click on it above or head to my YouTube channel directly here.

Thank you so much to everyone for your lovely messages on Snapchat and for taking the time out to talk to me. I really appreciate it.

Beauty And Fashion Haul

I put myself on a bit of spending ban for a bit. It didn’t go great, I still managed to spend money. And I use the blog as a reason to buy makeup too, don’t judge me 🙂 But, we have a little holiday coming up and the season is changing so that’s a good excuse to go shopping for both beauty and fashion stuff, right?

We’re only going on holidays for five days and we’re going to spend most of it chilling by the pool, so I didn’t need much for that. But an excuse is an excuse.

Beauty And Fashion Haul

I ended up getting some beauty stuff from Penneys and Boots. I still haven’t let myself into Harvey Nicks to check out the Fenty stand. I know I’ll end up spending a fortune 🙂 Alot of the beauty stuff consists of mini products to bring away with us, but I did pick up a few other bits.

irish beauty blogger

For clothes, I didn’t go too crazy. I picked up some bits in Penneys and H&M in store. I went into Zara thinking I was going to spend a fortune, but they had feck all here in Dublin. Some online shopping happened on ASOS and Boohoo aswell for some holiday bits.

penneys ps makeup brushes

I am going through a bit of  a weird time with clothes at the moment. I’ve been trying to go to the gym a good bit lately. I haven’t lost tonnes of weight or anything. I still enjoy eating too much. But my body shape is changing every so slightly. So, I feel like I don’t want to spend a fortune on stuff that might end up not fitting in the near future.

Anyways, I shall stop rambling here. I do enough of it in the video :). As always you can click above to watch or click here to go directly to my YouTube channel.

Major spoiler alert. Most of this video is slightly out of focus! Why may you ask? Because stupid Gemma (i.e me) focused the camera and then proceeded to sit in the wrong position like a dope! I debated on whether or not to scrap it. But I am mostly chatting about the confidence boosting beauty products in my life and just applying them as I go. Being able to see my potato head clearly really isn’t necessary in the grand scheme of things. Sure the beginning and end is in focus, you can see me in all of my glory there 🙂

irish beauty blogger

I did a video a while ago here about products that make make me happy. Things that have a meaning to them whether they be connected with memories or people. I thought this was a good continuation on from that. We all have certain confidence boosting products in our beauty drawers right? Things that put a spring our step, that we know look good on us?

beauty blog ireland

I thought I would chat about mine. Now don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that makeup necessarily equates to happiness. I am not that narrow minded, This is just me talking lightheartedly about certain products that I keep in my life because I know they work for me 🙂

Confidence Boosting Beauty

  • The eyeshadow shade ‘half-baked from Urban Decay.
  • A good eyelash curlers.
  • Eyeliner in my waterline. I used the Inglot AMC Eyeliner Gel in 96 (you can see it swatched here).
  • Mac Cosmetics Springsheen blush. On the Brown Thomas website here.
  • theBalm Mary-Lou-Manizer highlighting powder. The tone of this just works for me. I have an old review of it here.
  • Mac ‘Girl About Town’ Amplified Lipstick. You can get it from Brown Thomas here. I just realised I have two Mac products listed! Not on purpose, promise 🙂
  • Setting Spray. I am loving the L’Oréal Infallible Fixing Mist. (full review here).
  • My confidence boosting fragrance is Viktor & Rolf ‘Flowerbomb’. An oldie but a goodie. You can get it from Debenhams here.
  • Instant Tan! The ones I mention are the Vita Liberata Body Blur and the Bellamianta Skin Perfecting Instant Tan.
  • Then finally, my last confidence boosting beauty product is nail polish, or at least just having my nails did :). I chat about the Wet n Wild 1 Step Wonder Nail Polishes. I honestly love these!!

And that concludes my ramblings. So tell me, do you have any particular confidence boosting beauty products in your stash? You can watch the video directly over on my YouTube channel here.

More Maybelline chat 🙂 I reviewed the new colours of the Eraser Eye Concealers here. Now, I am chatting and applying some of the new products out for Summer 2017!

top irish beauty blogger

Maybelline, as a brand for me can be very much hit or miss. I am not always a fan of the releases, so some of the products end up in bags for friends or for charity. Obviously, if I hate something enough I will tell you why and if I love it I will shout it from the rooftops too! But if something is just ‘meh’, it doesn’t always get a second look.

maybelline new products

I have some of the new Maybelline Summer releases and I thought I would put them altogether and do a makeup look with the goodies I own. Some are PR samples, some I bought myself. Nothing majorly fancy or groundbreaking. But, it just means you get to see some of them in action on my chubby little face , and I get to give initial impressions 🙂

irish beauty blog

I will list everything I used below, in case anything particular takes your fancy and you want to investigate it further:

  • I have already linked the new Eraser Eyes in Neutralizer and Brightener above.
  • Master Blush Color & Highlight Kit. Available on the Boots website here.
  • Master Ink Waterproof Liquid Liner. Available here.
  • The Colossal Big Shot Mascara. Available here.
  • Great Lash Waterproof. On the Boots website here.
  • Master Fix Setting & Perfecting Loose Powder. Boots online have it here.
  • Vivid Hot Lacquers. Available here.

maybelline makeup

I did use some other Maybelline and non Maybelline products just because I had them and I didn’t have a whole face of newness in my stash. As always, you can click the video above to watch and go directly to my YouTube channel here to check it out.

I think my stand out favourites are the loose powder and the concealers. The Colossal mascara is pretty damn good too though!

It’s April Favourites time for 2017. This year is going too damn fast! But, the weather is getting a little bit better and it’s a bit brighter out. So, I can complain (of course), but I won’t 🙂

top irish beauty blogger

My April Favourites for this year consist of mostly makeup, of course. But there is a hair care tool and a new tech gadget, that myself and John splurged on. We had a busy month, so it was a bit of a treat for getting through it.

beauty blog ireland

  • L’Oréal Infallible 24 Matte. Review here.
  • L’Oréal True Match Foundation. Review here.
  • Mac Sheertone Shimmer Blush in ‘Springsheen’. Available from Brown Thomas here.
  • Maybelline Color Show Pencil in 520. Swatched here.
  • Maybelline Brow Precise Micro Brow Pencil in ‘Soft Brown’. Available from the Boots website here.
  • Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 13. This is a new colour and I cannot find it online. But the older shades are available from Debenhams here.
  • Paese Artist Silky Matt Liquid Lipstick in 707. I have swatches of it here.
  • Canon G7X Mark ii. I researched this camera to within in a inch of my life :). I already have a DSLR, so I am hoping this will help me up my photo game on social media. And then maybe myself and himself can experiment with vlogging too. I bought mine from Conns Cameras on Claredon Street here in Dublin. They were super nice and helpful. It is on their website here, if you want to check out the specs and all that good stuff.
