irish beauty bloggerI was planning on doing an overall sum up of my favourites for the year. To include food, fashion, the works. But I would literally be talking and typing until probably 2019!. So, I just decided to do beauty favourites! Hope you don’t mind.

Beauty is my thing after all so if I was going to talk about something, this would be it 🙂

Everything I chat about in my beauty favourites video here, I believe has it’s own blogpost. Of course, I talk about them somewhat in depth within video form. But if you want to see close ups and more put together reviews, I will link the posts below. I am much better at putting my words together when I write them down. I get a bit carried away when I am just chatting.beauty favourites

  • I don’t have a stand alone review for the Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in Torch, but I did use it in a makeup look here.

Have you any stand out beauty favourites from 2017? It was definitely a year for so many new releases, both good and bad!

As always thanks for sticking around these parts. For reading, watching, engaging and just being a part of this Beautynook journey with me. I really appreciate it. It definitely makes all the work a bit sweeter knowing there’s people actually paying attention 🙂

Hopefully 2018 is another deadly year for makeup!

What I Got For Christmas 2017 Beautynook

I’ve done it! I know it’s a controversial kind of post, but I love having a nose, so here’s my offering of ‘What I Got For Christmas’ 2017. We didn’t go to mad on pressies this year, but I did get some lovely bits and though I would chat through some of them 🙂

top irish beauty blogger

I’ll list some of the main things in case anything takes your fancy or you want to add anything to your list for next year.

John got me the L’Oréal Steampod. He bought it directly from Peter Mark in one of the salons. But you can find it online here.

My red lipstick for this season was the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick in 56 Rouge Charnel. You can get in from Debenhams online here.

My very fancy lip balm is the infamous ByTerry Baume De Rose. He picked it up from Spacenk in store, but it’s online here if you want a closer look.

My future Fenty purchases will be from Harvey Nicks in store, but they also sell online here. You just can’t use gift cards on their website which is a bit of a pain.

Here is the candle I chat about close up. It’s a Malin + Goetz Dark Rum candle and John picked it up from Spacenk here.

My Chanel Mademoiselle Body Oil is from Brown Thomas here.

The Casio watch is from Asos. It’s not there anymore unfortunately. However they do have a a yellow gold one (which I want now as well), here. The bracelet is from TK Maxx so I can’t link it.what I got for christmas

Anything else, just holler 🙂 The full video is over on my YouTube channel here.

So, I’ve told you what I got for Christmas this year. It was a really nice chilled affair. I ate and drank loads and I’m still recovering. Now you tell me, what did you get?

Happy 2018. Hope it brings loads of lovely happy memories.

Thanks for sticking around.

We all need a bit of festive glitter in our lives. I am bringing some in eyeshadow form, with this really simple, but effective festive sparkle makeup look.

Sparkle Makeup Tutorial

This sparkle makeup look is super easy to achieve and doesn’t require too much faffing around. I actually created it last week, when going out with friends. I already had some ‘daytime’ makeup on. So when it came to doing a more night time appropriate face. I really just went over what I already had on. It made me think this would be really great for going out straight after work. If you don’t have a lot of time, but still want to look put together.

You can check out how the full look comes together in video form here.

easy brown smoky eye

I do love a good get ready with me video 🙂 This time I’m doing a really simple brown smoky eye.

irish beauty blogger

I used some of the new products that I hauled here not too long ago. And I actually I think I hauled some of them here too. I have been hauling a bit over the past while. I reckon it’s the change in temperature that makes me spendy. That’s my excuse and I am sticking to it 🙂

beauty blog ireland

I was heading out, so wanted a decent face of makeup on but still wanted to keep it simple. When in doubt, I tend to taupe it out. A brown smoky eye is kind of my safety blanket. There’s a few old reliable favourites within the mix, but for the most part I used some new out and new to me products.

Beauty And Fashion Haul

I put myself on a bit of spending ban for a bit. It didn’t go great, I still managed to spend money. And I use the blog as a reason to buy makeup too, don’t judge me 🙂 But, we have a little holiday coming up and the season is changing so that’s a good excuse to go shopping for both beauty and fashion stuff, right?

We’re only going on holidays for five days and we’re going to spend most of it chilling by the pool, so I didn’t need much for that. But an excuse is an excuse.

Beauty And Fashion Haul

I ended up getting some beauty stuff from Penneys and Boots. I still haven’t let myself into Harvey Nicks to check out the Fenty stand. I know I’ll end up spending a fortune 🙂 Alot of the beauty stuff consists of mini products to bring away with us, but I did pick up a few other bits.

irish beauty blogger

For clothes, I didn’t go too crazy. I picked up some bits in Penneys and H&M in store. I went into Zara thinking I was going to spend a fortune, but they had feck all here in Dublin. Some online shopping happened on ASOS and Boohoo aswell for some holiday bits.

penneys ps makeup brushes

I am going through a bit of  a weird time with clothes at the moment. I’ve been trying to go to the gym a good bit lately. I haven’t lost tonnes of weight or anything. I still enjoy eating too much. But my body shape is changing every so slightly. So, I feel like I don’t want to spend a fortune on stuff that might end up not fitting in the near future.

Anyways, I shall stop rambling here. I do enough of it in the video :). As always you can click above to watch or click here to go directly to my YouTube channel.

I first saw the new Maybelline Tattoo Brow on the awesome Sharon Farrell’s YouTube Channel here last month.

Maybelline Tattoo Brow

She demoed it and it just really intrigued me. It’s one of those things that could be a complete gimmick or could be bloody genius!

Maybelline Tattoo Brow Tutorial

So what is the Maybelline Tattoo Brow? It’s basically a tinted gel that you apply to your brows, let it set and then peel it off. It leaves behind a tint on the skin, that means in theory you don’t have to fill in your brows for up to three days!

Now if you have awesome brows, of course this might not be your cup of tea, you lucky duck. For me, my brows are a pain in the bum! Now don’t get me wrong they are looking alot better than they have done. I was invited into Beauty Board a few weeks ago and got their Ecuri Stem Cell Treatment. It’s really helped with the hair growth and their looking so much more…brow like. They definitely need some grooming though, but I digress, I am here to talk about the Maybelline Tattoo Brow, soz!

beauty blogger ireland

The price of it really miffed me for a Maybelline product. I bought it for €16.99 in Boots. It’s on the website here if you want to check it out. You get 4.6 grams of product and it here it comes in three shades. I got Medium Brown.

top irish beauty blogger

I thought it would be best to demo it in video form, as it’s something you have to see in action. So click on the video above or go directly to my YouTube channel here to check out it out.  I know people are worried about it pulling precious hairs out and all that scary stuff, so I’m willing to take the hit for for the sake of beauty lovers everywhere 🙂 .

dublin beauty blogtop beauty blog irelandtop beauty blogger ireland

You apply it in your desired shape. Let it dry for at least 20 minutes. For the longer tint (up to three days) it says leave it for 2 hours. Then, simply peel off from inner to outer brow.

I wrote this blog post before I used it, so I guess you have to watch the video to see how I get on and if I survived. 🙂 Also I was heading out afterwards so fingers crossed I don’t feck it up!
