I’ve known the Penneys PS Custom Eyes Eyeshadow and Palettes have been coming for a while. The press launch was a few weeks ago, but now they are officially in Penneys/Primark stores!

I picked up mine in Mary Street here in Dublin. There is two palette sizes to choose from. It’s €2 for the four pan palette or €3 for the nine pan.
There are 30 Penneys PS Custom Eyes eyeshadow shades in total.

They range from neutrals, full on colour to black. They are all magnetic and will set you back €1 each. Here are all the shade names: Ice, Bone, Stripped, Sun Kissed, Gold Digger, Baked, Firecracker, Brick, Hot Coco, Carbon, Naked, Stone, Peachy Keen, Peony, Tickle, Antique Bronze, Vermilion, Burnt, Crimson, Espresso, Truffle, Pistachio, Basil, Tidal, Earth, Opal, Cranberry, Slate and Royal.

I picked up one of the nine pan palettes and then nine eyeshadows to go in it. So altogether what I have here set me back 12 quid.

There was actually a really decent amount of shades available in Mary Street when I went in to have a look. A lot of the more warm, wearable shades were sold out though. But I am not surprised there really, and I’m sure Penneys will keep restocking them. So, don’t be discouraged if you want to get your hands on some, just keep an eye out.

My first impressions of the Penneys Custom Eyes eyeshadows are really good. These are the first Penneys eyeshadows that I would actually recommend to people. Other than their highlighting palette which I did a review of here a while back. I haven’t been majorly keen on Penneys powder products.

I did a whole look with the eyeshadows when I first picked them up.

Penneys PS Custom Eyes

All of the shadows are from the Penneys PS Custom Eyes range, except I used a bit of matte bronzer in the crease. I just didn’t have a shade to take on that job 🙂 The shimmery lid colour applied best with my finger. That’s something to be weary off. But the colours, overall are pigmented, soft, blend well and with primer lasted the day on me too.

Some of the colours need a few layers to pack a punch and you will get fall down. But overall for the price point and the variation in colour and finishes, the shadows get a thumbs up from me.

Have you picked up any of the Penneys PS Custom Eyes shadows? Are you a fan?

YouTube 100 million percent made me do it! I have to admit I can be a bit skeptical when YouTubers or online people bring out products. A lot of it is just done to make a few bob on the side, and not really thought out.

Tanya Burr Cosmetics Illuminating Powders

Tanya Burr Cosmetics has been going a while now and I actually did try some bit from hers in the beginning, and they weren’t half bad. Since then though nothing has really caught my eye majorly so I didn’t invest in anything.

Tanya Burr Cosmetics Illuminating Powders

The Tanya Burr Cosmetics Illuminating Powders are new from the range. I watched her Get Ready With Me Video here, where she showcases her new ‘Chasing The Sun’ Collection. The Illuminating Powders in particular took my fancy.

Tanya Burr Cosmetics Illuminating Powders

They remind me so much of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting blush and bronzers. And the Max Factor Creme Puff blush and bronzers too. I actually did a post on the Max Factor Bronzer not too long ago here if you want to see the lighter shade in action.

There is three illuminating powders within the ‘Chasing The Sun’ collection.

I picked up all three because Superdrug were having a 3 for 2 offer. Any excuse, right? They all come in a square, pretty sturdy clear topped palette, with 12 grams of product within.

The darkest of the three is ‘Warm Bronze’.

It’s a medium, shimmering bronze shade.

Next, we have ‘Champagne Sorbet’.

As the name would suggest, this is more of a champagne shimmer. Much more suited to use as a highlight for my lighter skin tone.

The last of the three is ‘Peonies Please’.

This looks like a darker pink in the pan than it swatches. It’s still a really pretty shimmering light pink blush shade. This, for me would be a blush and highlight all in one. irish beauty website

I have to admit, I am really impressed with the colour pay off from all three of the Tanya Burr Cosmetics Illuminating Powder shades. The powders themselves are nice and soft and easy to blend. You get a really decent amount of product for the price point €10.85 ( in store here from Superdrug.) Not the cheapest ‘from the drugstore’, I know. Although they are only €8.99 from the Feel Unique website here. They give a really nice glow to the skin without being too sparkly or glittery.

I will definitely get a lot of use out of ‘Champagne Sorbet’ and ‘Peonies Please’. ‘Warm Bronze’ might be a little too dark for me to use regularly. It will make a lovely eye shadow though!

Here is ‘Peonies Please’ applied as blush to my skin: irish beauty blog beautynook

And then ‘Champagne Sorbet’ applied on top:

Have you tried anything from the Tanya Burr Cosmetics range? What has YouTube made you buy? I reckon I could do a whole dedicated blog post on that question myself 🙂

Milani was one of those American brands that was always out of reach for us Irish makeup addicts. Not any more. It’s getting easier and easier for us to get our greedy mitts on what makeup we want from all over the world. This is both a good and a bad thing, depending on how you look at it 🙂

The Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso is spoken about so fondly in the beauty world. Everyone who owns it seems to love it. Hence why I needed it in my life.

It comes in gold plastic packaging with the 3.5 grams of product on the top and then a mirror and little brush underneath.

The brush is ok. I probably won’t get much use out of it. It isn’t the worst though.

The blush itself is really nice. It is soft to the touch and applies lovely and smoothly to the skin. It’s a peach blush swirled and baked within a more iridescent golden peach colour.

The finish reminds me of Nars Orgasm blush if Orgasm was more peach and less pink. I can see why it is so popular. It is just a really universal shade that would work for most skin colours. It gives a really pretty peachy sheen to the skin.

As it is pigmented, I use a less dense blush brush to apply it to the apples of my cheeks. Too much of this product on my pale would make me look a bit clown like.

It lifts my complexion and makes my skin look a bit more alive. I do love a bit of blush 😉

You can see here one cheek has the Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso applied and one doesn’t.

Overall I am so glad to have this in my makeup stash. It’s one of those colours that goes with any type of makeup look. I have been picking it up non stop since I bought it.

You can get the Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso and other colours online from Beauty Bay here. They are priced at €9.80.

It’s monthly favourites time again. I’m back to ramble all about my September Favourites for 2016 this time.

irish beauty blogger

Can you believe it’s October? The year is honestly slipping away at a rapid speed, I can’t keep up at all! My September favourites consist of makeup, skincare, fragrance and even a stab into the fashion world.

September Favourites

There’s the original Urban Decay Naked Palette. You can of course get this from Debenhams here.

The makeup mixing palette, I picked up in store from Penneys for €4. A little bloody bargain.

The Sleek Cleopatra’s Kiss Palette. I have a full review and demo of this here. It’s worth a look, I promise 🙂

The Clarins Instant Light Comfort Lip Oil. A definite splurge at €21, but a really nice treat for the lips. You can get it from Debenhams here.

Stella McCartney Pop Eau De Parfum. Summer in a bottle for me 🙂 You can buy this from Boots or any decent perfume shop. Here’s a link to it on the Debenhams website.

Asian sheet masks are readily available from different sellers on eBay or Amazon. A Irish distribution called Natural Balance Global sent me the SNP ones that I have particularly enjoying. Here’s a link to their website if you fancy checking them out. They do come in boxes of ten though, I think that’s worth noting, in case you were just looking to try them out.

Then, the last of my September Favourites includes my cute little Zara bag. It’s €29.95 and I ordered it from the website here. May I add, Zara are killing it in the bag game. I just went on there to get the link for my bag and saw at least five other bags I really really want!

And there you have my September favourites for 2016!

I am kinda sad to be leaving the Summer behind, not gonna lie 🙂

This is my interpretation of an Autumn Makeup Look.

irish beauty blog

Of course makeup has no rules and you can wear what you want. But, we do (well I think we do), tune in to certain trends for the different seasons. For me, when I think of an Autumn Makeup Look I think of golds and bronze shades on the eyes and dark lips.

In this video I used some old favourites. Yes, I dusted off the original Urban Decay Naked Palette for this look. I forgot just how much I loved this! The shade ‘Half-Baked’ is probably my favourite gold eyeshadow ever. It is just so flattering on the eyes.

autumn makeup look

I also dipped into a couple of newbie products from Sleek Makeup. The Cleopatra’s Kiss Highlighter Palette which I only spoke about here recently. And one of their Matte Me liquid lipstick in ‘Velvet Slipper’. It is out of stock at the moment, eeek, apologies for that! I wouldn’t have used it if I had known!

beauty blog ireland

I mention all the products I use in the video, which as always you can click on above. Or, you can watch it directly over on my Youtube channel here. If you have any questions about anything, you can of course just ask me though 🙂

I always like to stress to that I am not a makeup artist, just someone who loves makeup…alot 🙂

Autumn Makeup Look

Let me know what you think of my super simple Autumn Makeup Look. And let me know the makeup looks or products that make you think of Autumn. Dark lips are the only thing I like about the weather getting colder, I swear. The sun hasn’t even completely gone yet and I am already mourning it 🙂

As always, thanks for taking the time to watch, read and interact. I really really appreciate it.

Ok, I finally gave into the hype and picked up the Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette!

Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette

There has been so much talk about this over the last few months about the Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette after people like Jeffree Star have gotten their hands on it and have been loving it.For some reason, even though it’s been so readily available here in Ireland I just never picked it up. But with so many people talking about it and loving it. I had to give it a whirl for myself. So here are my first impressions :).

Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palettetop beauty blog ireland

The description on Boots.ie about it is ‘Sleek MakeUP’s Solstice Highlighting Palette instantly enhances the complexion with a radiant glow. This versatile face and body highlighting palette suits all skin tones and includes two baked powders, one luxurious cream formula and one silky shimmer powder. The highly pigmented metallic finishes add a radiant glow and a luminous sheen to the skin.Packaged in a stunning rose gold compact with a mirror and a mini powder brush, Solstice can be used on cheekbones, the cupids bow, inner corners of the eyes, bridge of the nose and can be swept across the décolletage to create a lit-from-within glow.’

The packaging of the Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette is really pretty and a little different for Sleek considering most of their products are encased in sleek (get it? 🙂 ) matte black. It has a magnetic closing too which I always appreciate, less stress on our perfectly manicured talons! It has a large mirror on the lid as well.

top irish beauty websitesleek makeup irelandYou do get a little brush inside, which isn’t the worst brush ever to come free with a palette, but I personally won’t get any use out of it.

The 4 shades have names which I always really like, it just helps us distinguish between them.

irish beauty blogSleek Solstice Highlighting Palette

The first one is ‘Ecliptic’.

‘Hemisphere’.

‘Subsolar’.

A pale yellow gold powder. Probably the most subtle shimmer of the bunch.

And then finally, ‘Equinox’.

A baked peachy champagne shimmery powder.

First impressions are good! The cream and all three powders apply really nicely to the skin without too much effort. Ecliptic is probably a little too dark for me to wear as a cream highlighter or base, so I would probably use this on the eyes, but if you have a deeper skin tone than me, it will work really nicely. The colours are a bit frosty in my opinion so be wary of that if that doesn’t float your boat.

Blended Out On The Skin

They do apply better more opaquely with your fingers. I had a quick play with them on my mug (without any other makeup on may I add) and with a highlighting brush and they applied more wearable I think, and gave more of a shine to the skin than a frost.

I think I am really going to enjoy playing with this palette. I am sure I will be talking more about it on Snapchat and the likes, so be sure to be following me on there if you want to keep updated 🙂

I picked up the Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette in store from Boots, Henry Street, Dublin. It seems to be sold out at alot of stands, but they were fully stocked. Boots have stock online too here, the Sleek website here is sold out. Cloud10beauty is another place that’s great for buying Sleek here although they are sold out at the minute too. So keep an eye if you’re in the market! I paid €14.49 for the palette, it does vary in price by a couple of euro depending on where you get it.

So tell me, what do you think? Do you think it’s worth the hype? Have you bought it already? Let me know 🙂
