I already have makeup looks with all the Urban Decay Naked palettes here on Beautynook. You can check out Naked 1 look here, Naked 2 here, Naked 3 here and Naked Smoky here. I did a look with the Naked 2 the other day and put a couple of selfies up on my Facebook page and some of you seem to like it and asked me to film a tutorial, thank you by the way 🙂
So, I did it, well attempted to anyways 🙂 I am really new to this Youtube thing, but I gave it my best go and managed to recreate this really easy Urban Decay Naked 2 makeup look. I am not a makeup artist so I am going to call them makeup looks rather than tutorials, hope you don’t mind.
If you like this video, it would make my day if you went over to my youtube channel and subscribed. I am going to try my best to be consistent with it.
Check out my first impressions of the Revlon Ultra Volume Waterproof mascara. I only bought this mascara in Boots the other day. This was my first time to use the mascara, so I documented it in video form 🙂
As the formula is waterproof I also left it on all day and reported back to see how well it wore. Just click on the video for all the deets. Let me know if you like these sorts of videos and please please subscribe to my Youtube channel here, if you like it!
Here’s my first ever Youtube video! It’s a speeded through Get Ready With Me. I love zoning out and watching these, and on the plus side it meant less talking for me 🙂 It’s not perfect, but sure neither am I.
Thanks so much for watching and if you like it please be sure to subscribe here. That would make my day…my year in fact, can you tell this is a big step for me? 🙂
There’s a list of all the products I used in the info box of the video too, so if you see something you like they’re all listed in order pretty much.
Let me know what you think and also what videos you like to watch yourself, I am going try create one a week on my channel, but I will also do an accompanying blogpost with any extra details and of course a bit of waffle 🙂

My name is Gemma and I have sinned…nah not really. I just did my first ever Makeup Revolution shop and wanted to document it before I make the palette all yucky and unphotographable…yep thats a word 🙂
The Superdrug in The Square Shopping Centre finally got a Makeup Revolution stand. I only went in for a browse and was very pleased to see it in all it’s shiny clean glory. The makeup in Superdrug was also on 3 for 2 across everything so that lured me in even more. I bought 3 Makeup Revolution Palettes and it set me back just under €21 which I thought was pretty good. And you get a cute little makeup bag free!
This the Ultra Eyeshadows Palette.
This is €10.35 for 32 shadows. They are a mixture of shimmers and a mixture of brights and more neutral colours. If these are decent quality I will get alot of use out of this palette.
Next is the Radiance Lights Highlighter Palette.
This again is €10.35 and you get 3 highlighting powders. On first look these look so pretty. People on social media have been going wild for these too so I’m hoping they live up to the hype and will definitely report back.
The last palette I picked up was the Ultra Cover and Conceal Palette.
I technically got this for free, but it’s priced at €7.75. They only had two shades in this palette Light or Light-Medium. I would have preferred to get a Medium-Dark one as I think this could be a good product for contouring, but since it was free I thought I would give it a go anyway and see how I fare, I am a paley after all 🙂
So there you have it, my first ever Makeup Revolution buys and you were here to witness it first hand! This brand do a fantastic job at social media and really getting their name out there, so I have high hopes for these palettes. They do all kinds of makeup though so there is something for everyone and the prices are really good.
I may have mentioned once or twice in the past, I have skin that sometimes resembles a chip pan?
Well I do. And I try alot of products to help ebb it as much as possible. Lets be real, nothing gets rid of it, but some things are better than others at keeping it at bay for longer periods of time before the blotting sheets have to make an appearance.
Rimmel do some amazing base products, aswell as alot of other fab products. I have tried and tested ALOT of them over the years and although I switch and change things up regularly, and can tend to have expensive taste, Rimmel has still stayed in the makeup collection and is picked up consistently in the morning time when putting on the face.
Here are three products that have won my heart (and my skin) over, and ironically they are all from Rimmel’s Stay Matte range…go figure 🙂
First up, is their Stay Matte Primer. This would be the newest one of the three to me. I have only started using it over the past few months.
I usually go for a silicone based primer, I find it better for my skin as I am plagued with large pores. The Rimmel Stay Matte is a white primer (don’t worry it blends in, you cannot see it).
It has a dry texture which I like as it leaves a matte layer on the skin all ready to apply foundation. It does not feel greasy or heavy. I use it as my daily primer, it does the job perfectly well and keeps my makeup on for a long enough time. You can also use this over your foundation if you feel it will work better for you that way.I have yet to find a primer that will not let the shine through after a few hours, so this does a good enough job as all the others and it is a bargain at 7.99euro from Boots or any other Rimmel stockists of course.
Next up is the Rimmel Stay Matte foundation.
This foundation has a mousse like formula to it.
I find it easy to work with though, and have used either my fingers, a dense brush or even a Beauty Blender to apply it. As the name would suggest it is a mattifying oil free foundation so there is no dewiness here if that’s what you are in the market for. The Rimmel Match Perfection would be more up your alley for that. I find the Stay Matte does not lie in my pores but with a primer underneath blends over and diminishes them. This would be a medium to full coverage foundation depending on how you apply it and it has yet to oxidise on my skin after wear which is brilliant, as I find alot of foundations can do this on my oily skin. Also, it is another bargain coming in at 7.79 from Boots
Last up for setting the liquid part of your makeup routine, which is an absolute must for me. I could not go out of the house without this step. Here is one my favourite setting powders, the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder.
This is a very natural looking setting powder perfect for during the day and perfect for having in your handbag for touch ups. It does have very slight coverage too, if your foundation is not quite cutting it for you.
It comes in a few different shades. There are yellow toned and pink toned ones to choose from which is handy. Again, this is a matte finish product, it is not chalky, and I think it does a very good job at keeping the oil at bay, even dry skinned gals can get oily around the t-zone, so it is always a good idea to add even a little bit of powder there. The Rimmel Stay Matte Powder has become a bit of a cult product in its own right and most makeup lovers will have a stash of it somewhere and I can really understand why. And of course with it being Rimmel, this is the biggest bargain out of the three retailing in Boots for 5.99euro.
So there you have it, matte skin on a budget. I can say I have tried and tested all three of these products and they all do a great job either as a stand alone product or used in conjunction with each other.
Rimmel are a great brand over all, and are really dominating the high street makeup market. I wonder what they have in store for us next…
Do you have a favourite from Rimmel? Let me know 🙂
