There have been so many new makeup releases over the last few weeks. It is so hard to keep up, even for me 🙂 The Inglot What A Spice Collection was one that really caught my eye though.

I’m lucky enough to live not too far away from their South Anne Street Branch, so I toddled in this past Sunday to have a look up close. The Inglot What A Spice Collection consists of ten lipsticks:

Five complimenting lip liners:

The main event for me in the collection though is the Freedom eyeshadows:

Inglot what a spice

There are ten eyeshadow shades in total. All matte. Inglot know how to make an eyeshadow, I think we can all agree on that. I am a big fan of their formula. The shades in the What A Spice Collection are literally Autumn in eyeshadow form 🙂

I ended up picking up four shadows from the collection.

Well I would have picked up more but that’s all my budget would allow me, and my conscience, I’ve been a bit spendy lately 🙂

I tried to go for the shades that looked a bit different to what I have already.

The first one is 305 which to me, is a warm chocolate brown shade.

My second choice was 304. This is a more cooler toned dark brown shade.

Number three is 299. This is a matte red toned brown.

Then, my last purchase was number 303. This is a warm toned mid brown with a pink base. I have nothing like this shade in my collection so I’m particularly excited to play around with this colour 🙂

Here’s all four of them side by side so you can see the differences.

You can purchase the entire Inglot What A Spice Collection in store or online from their website here now. The lipsticks are €15 as are the lipliners. The eyeshadows are €6 each. I know there is nail polishs and lip tints as part of the collection elsewhere, but we don’t seem to have them here in Ireland, so I didn’t include them.

Anything from the collection take your fancy?

I only went and spent some of my Boots points on the Nyx Highlight & Contour Pro Palette. I’ve wanted to try it for ages after seeing so many good things online about it. Using my Boots points made me feel less guilty about it because I definitely didn’t need another contour product, let alone a palette! 🙂

nyx highlight & contour pro palette

The description of the Nyx Highlight & Contour Pro Palette on the Boots website: ‘Define your features like a pro with our highlight and contour palette! Each set includes eight customizable highlighting and contouring shades perfect for emphasizing your favorite features’.

nyx highlight & contour pro palette

The packaging is a little more flimsy than I expected for the price. Each pan contains 2.7 grams of product.

Powder contour and highlight palettes are a pretty common occurrence in the makeup world nowadays. Alot of brands have tried their hand at variations of them. I have the Anastasia one and I have the Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour Palette that I reviewed here a while back.

In the palette there is eight powder shades.

The four lighter highlight shades are on the top and look a bit like this swatched on the skin.

‘Ice Queen’ and ‘Nectar’ are a shimmery highlight. Then, ‘Soft Light’ and ‘Cream’ are matte.

Then, there is four contour shades to hopefully cover a multitude of different skin tones.

We all probably wouldn’t get use out of all four, but I always end up using these as eye shadows too so that doesn’t really bother me personally. What I do notice about the contour shades though is that they have more of a satin finish rather than being completely matte.

The powders are soft to the touch and they do blend. However, they are powdery and the pigment is softer when you apply the powders with a brush onto the skin.

The Nyx Highlight & Contour Pro Palette is available from any good Nyx stockists. I bought mine from Boots with my points as I said, but you can get it in store or online here for €25. You can also buy refills for the palette here that are €4.75 each. I really like this idea. It means you can just buy the single shades you want, or you can refill the palette as you see fit.

So I’m not the best at showing clothes on camera, I have officially learned this fact from doing this video. I’m not particularly comfortable with my size and shape though, so I think that makes me a little nervous about it too. Hopefully I’ll get better as I go along in both instances 🙂 This video is showing all the bits and bobs that I picked up in Zara, Boots, Penneys and Debenhams last week. Buying this much stuff is definitely not a regular occurrence, I just had a bit of a moment 🙂

Zara Boots Penneys Haul

I bought some of the Zara things online, as well as a couple of the other products and I collected them in store. I love having the option to do this. It means you don’t have to pay shipping and I was heading into town anyways so it was a win win for me.

I’ll attempt to list everything I got and link it down below, except for the Penneys stuff…if only they had a shopping website!

The Zara mid heel Chanel wannabe shoes that literally killed my feet (I’m not even joking, they are in bits!). These are on the website here.

Zara Beaded Cross Body Bag. You can find it on the website here.

Here’s the little black bag on the website.

Then, onto the beauty products:

I did a post on the Kat Von D London Calling Fearless Favourites Set here.

I have a full review of the Nyx Micro Brow Pencil here.

Then, the L’Oreal Infallible Fixing Mist is an old fave of mine. I have a review of it here.

The L’Oreal True Match Foundation is €11.99 in Boots at the moment. You can get it on the website here.

And then finally, the L’Oreal True Match Highlighter. They don’t have it on the Boots website right now unfortunately. I got it in store and it was €11.99. The L’Oreal products were on 3 for 2.

And there you have it 🙂

As always, you can watch the video here on Beautynook by click directly on it above. Or, you can check it out on my Youtube channel directly here.

I managed to nab a Becca Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette. Phew, that’s a mouthful, right? 🙂

Becca Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette
I went in to Space NK Grafton Street just to have a look and ask about them as they had had a shipment the week before. Low and behold the lovely ladies told me they were getting another shipment in the next day and I could put my name down if I was certain I could be in to collect in that very day. And so, I did just that 🙂

Completely spur of the moment really, the Becca Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette became mine.

Becca Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette

If you don’t know already, Jaclyn Hill is a very successful American beauty You-tuber. She had previously collaborated with Becca Cosmetics and that was when Champagne Pop was born. (I have a full review of it here). The collection has now grown and includes: Champagne Splits which are a blush and highlighter combo. Liquid and cream Champagne Pop shimmering skin perfectors. There was also an eye-shadow palette that Becca controversially had to take off of the market because of quality issues and of course finally what I am showing you now, the Becca Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette.

Becca Cosmetics

I really love the gold and white packaging of the palette. It is smooth to the touch, is a little weighty so feels nice in your hands and contains a large mirror in the lid, which is always appreciated.

Becca Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palettetop irish beauty websiteirish beauty blog

It contains 5 powders in total. 3 blushes and 2 shimmering skin perfectors i.e highlighters.

Becca Cosmetics Ireland

We have Rosè Spritz which is deemed a luminous blush.

Amaretto – A mineral blush.

Pamplemousse – This is also a mineral blush.

Then we have the highlighter that started it all Champagne Pop.

And then finally, Prosecco Pop.

Here are all the powders swatched together just so you can get a sense of the colour differences and finishes.

Without the flash on

All of the powders are as you would expect from Becca super soft and pigmented. They swatched really nicely onto the skin. The blushes are a good mix of colours and finishes.  I use Champagne Pop alot already even though I think it might be a little too deep for my skin tone, I don’t care, I love it 🙂 I am foreseeing I might have the same problem with Prosecco Pop, it is very golden. But, it’s very pretty so I’ll make it work 🙂 I think it will make for a lovely eye shadow too.

The Becca Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette retails in Ireland for €54 from Space NK if you can get your hands on it. They do have it on the UK website here though if you want to get it shipped and it costs £48.

So, let me know what you think? 🙂

I had to do it at least once! When Colourpop announced they are now shipping internationally, my heart skipped, skipped a beat 🙂

My heart then proceeded to drop when I saw what they were charging to ship internationally. $25! And that doesn’t include custom clearance! But like the good little makeup fiend that I am, I couldn’t stop thinking about ordering. They give you $5 off if you sign up to their newsletter so I thought, feck it! I’ll even just do it the once and take the hit. Then, I proceeded to go over the Irish customs limit too (I think anything over $25 puts you in the danger zone of having to pay tax. I just couldn’t justify all of that money to ship it over and only getting a couple of things. I wanted to get my monies worth. I risked it and it paid off. I did not have to pay customs on the package. But that doesn’t happen all the time, I think it really is just the luck of the draw. If you fancy fancy seeing what I got. Here’s my first ever Colourpop haul.

Colourpop really know how to package a…package! The box is so pretty.

The packaging on the products themselves is really nice too.

I picked up two of their Super Shock eyeshadows.

‘Game Face’ which is a penny bronzed metallic colour.

And ‘LALA’, which is a rose gold metallic shadow.

They both cost $5 each.

I picked up one of the Supershock Cheek Highlighters.

This is in the shade ‘Lunchmoney’.

Colourpop describe it as a soft light gold with a reflective duo chrome finish.

These cost $8 each.

The powder products feel like nothing I have ever used before. They’re nearly wet to the touch and have a gel like consistency when you apply them to the skin. Colourpop tell you that the formula is best applied with the fingertips.

I chose one of their Crème Gel Colour Liners to try.

Colourpop haul dunzo 🙂

I placed my order with Colourpop on the 12th of July. They did give me a USPS tracking number and I could track my package up until it went on to the international flight. Then, I couldn’t get an update on it. I received my order from my regular postman, on the 26th of July. My total bill was $66 with the $5 discount. That worked out at €61.31 and I paid with Paypal. As I mentioned already though, I was lucky customs let the package through and I didn’t have to pay an extra penalty.
What do you think? Are you tempted? The products themselves are really reasonable priced, I think. If they brought down the shipping, I think I would be more than happy to shop with Colourpop again. First impressions are really good, I like the products I got, alot 🙂

I am an avid online shopper. I do love going into shops and seeing products in the flesh, don’t get me wrong. However, living on our little island, we don’t always get the products we want in store, or we just don’t have the time to do it! So, here are some of my favourite online beauty shopping haunts that I like to frequent 🙂

Of course, alot of our favourite beauty retailers give us the option to shop online too, as well as in store. Some of my favourites are Boots, Debenhams, Brown Thomas and Arnotts. And I love that with some of these you have the option to click and collect so you don’t have to pay shipping and then whatever you bought, is packed up and paid for, just waiting for you to pick it up in store. Superdrug is another one that does that too, although I know they only have stores here in Dublin. You can shop from them online too though.

My favourite Irish online store for beauty shopping has to be cloud10beauty!cloud10beauty beauty shoppingThey cover some of our amazing homegrown talent like Cocoa Brown, Waxperts and Blank Canvas Cosmetics. As well as some harder to get brands here like Pestle & Mortar and Alpha-H.They have you covered with blogger/vlogger brands like Zoella, Real Techniques, Colab, Tanya Burr and of course SOSU by Suzanne Jackson. There is something on Cloud10beauty for everyone, the shipping is super quick, it is free over €40, you get free gifts with purchase. They always have website deals on and very generous sales.

My next favourite online beauty shopping destination is Cult Beauty

beauty shopping cult beauty

The name really says it all! Cult Beauty stock a good chunk of the brands we all want a part of. And not just old stock, we can get new stock from American brands we covet! They stock the likes of Anastasia Beverley Hills, Aesop,Becca, Daniel Sander,Eve Lom, FAIRYDROPS (I didn’t know that actually, this post is really enabling my shopping habit :)), Huda Beauty, Jouer, Laura Gellar, OCC. I could go on, I really could. They have free worldwide shipping over £50, and again you can get free gift with purchases. They are also based in the UK so no worrying about custom charges and the likes.

Beauty Bay is another UK website that is jam packed full of American brands we want to get our hands on.

irish beauty blog

Products are a little pricey and shipping takes a while, but once you’re aware of that the beauty shopping is awesome! They stock the likes of Gerard Cosmetics, Natasha Denona, Anastasia, Cargo, Cover FX, Dose of Colour, Ellis Faas, and of course Makeup Geek!!!

Look Fantastic is another….fantastic beauty shopping hub 🙂

irish beauty blogger

They offer free standard worldwide shipping, it can take a while, so you do have to be patient, but again they are a UK registered company so no duty to worry about. They sell the likes of Illamasqua, EX1, Benefit, Deborah Lippman, Dermalogica and Nudestix. What I particularly like about Look Fantastic is their range of hair care. They cover brands like Kerastase, Redken, Phillip Kingsley, Nioxin and Tigi to name a few. And, they don’t scrimp on the money off vouchers either!

Feel Unique is another website I am often found browsing.

top irish beauty blog

It is great for makeup and haircare, but it also carries an abundance of fragrance choices too, for both men and women. They cover the celeb fragrances as well as the likes of Marc Jacobs, Chanel, YSL and Stella McCartney. I rely on Feel Unique alot at Christmas time, it’s really handy for picking up gift sets.

For my last contribution in this post, I thought I would add in Asos.

top irish beauty blogger

Asos is a website I spend alot of time procrastinating on 🙂 It’s well known for fashion, but it does carry a good amount of beauty choices too. It has brands like Barry M, Rimmel and Benefit. But, it also carries harder to get brands (for us) like Japonesque, Anna Sui, Cowshed and so much more. There’s free shipping from Asos over €25 and they offer free returns too which is really handy.

I think I’ll leave it there 🙂 There’s other beauty corners of the internet I like to frequent, but I don’t want to bombard you. And these are all tried, tested and trusted websites that I’ve purchased from successfully on numerous occasions.
I hope you found this helpful and maybe discovered a new online beauty shopping haunt.
Thanks for reading.
